This looks pretty fucking awesome, holy shit.
It's leading developer is Streum On Studio who did E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy. Should be interesting to see what they can do with Space Hulk.
More info from the french forum:
>Story is co-written by Streum On but Gav changed some things because it was a little somehow too confusing like in E.Y.E
>Devs are massive fans, they insisted to get Dark Angels instead of the overused Blood Angels as a nod for the old boardgame.
>game was made with modding in mind (.ini everywhere)
>maps shown represent a level that you can explore freely (according to interview there is a lot of secrets/lost relics in the levels for those that like exploration)
>Stealers can run on walls. It's only in some specific (non-scripted) cases, and they'll do it less often than the aliens in AvP2. Reading between the lines, they are lacking in time for AI/animation programming.
>sprint to charge filthy xenos.
>termies are supposed to be as fast as unarmored humans, but with a heavier walk.
>They're testing it with VR helmets
>you won't be able to play a stealer when you die in coop' (tested, it didn't work well).
>No other chapters DLCs for now
>eventually map DLCs/patches, for coop. (EYE got a free DLC)
>DEATHWATCH INCLUDED IN THE GAME
>There was a "kick" key ala Duck Nukem, but it was included as a joke and they've removed it.
>they want to have a good feeling and sound with firearms, like in EYE (but a bit more hardcore, with more recoil)
>customizable FOV, wide by default, can be reduced (not augmented so it doesn't mess with body awareness)
>GIven the choice, Streumon would have made a fps/rpg about an Inquisitor, or a Road Rash (bike racing) with Orks
>Made by the dudes who did EYE
>Game also has a leg status indicator
I'm already sold.
[mariachi music intensifies]
>FOCUS
nah i'll pass
>Road Rash with Orks
I never knew how bad I wanted this.
>There was a "kick" key ala Duck Nukem, but it was included as a joke and they've removed it.
>game was made with modding in mind (.ini everywhere)
Sounds like it will be possible to re-implement the Boot.
BROTHER MY LEGS ARE OK
Not quoted but they also said they had a button to shoot "For the Emperor" but they removed it.
And yeah, I also hope they left those somewhere so we can restore them easily.
Literally my most anticipated game at this point. I like how things look so far, they seem to have the "weight" of the game nailed down. The maps also look promising, very open and non-linear. I think the only thing that could possibly go wrong is with the AI director, but hopefully that will also turn out great.
[latino rap intensifies]
Fuck, i dislike racing games, but a racing game with orcs sounds fun as fuck. Especially if you can build your own orky "cars".

Its the year of Warhammer.
What a time to be alive.
Praise slaanesh
Gonna be a good year.
All is well.
It took a shitload of shovelware to get here, but GW deciding to whore out their license to anyone who asked paid off in the end.
Sleep Tight, Spuss Mehreen
> it's a thread about a company that would make more if they sold a movie than if they sold a game
wtf is up with all these warhammer games coming out? there's like 4 fucking games either out now or in development this year alone
are they going for broke?
>Dark Angels
Fuck that shit, they are traitor legions in denial, why nobody purge the shit out of them?
>localized damage
>if you take too much damage to your arm, you are incapable of using the weapon on that arm.
>terminators are basically walking tanks.
so this is pretty much the closest thing to a mech warrior game we've gotten in years.
Only grimdark and with xenos.
>Gav *fixed* the story
why god
>DoW III
>deathwing
>Totalwarhammer
vermintide 40k
>are they going for broke?
Nobody knows for sure what happened, but about two years ago GW, up till then fairly notorious for mishandling and being stingy as fuck with licencing suddenly went all out and basically said that who ever wants can make a WH40k game. One can only assume it was a result of long, steady decrease of their popularity and perhaps maybe even them being somewhat aware that Age of Sigmar is not going to be as big as they thought it will be when they started it.
Anyway, with the sudden liberal licencing politics, fuckton of studios gleefuly jumped at the opportunity. A lot of it cheap cash-grabs, but some veterans of the studio have been long term WH40k fans: Streum in particular. EYE was supposed to be a WH40k game to begin with, but they did not have any chance of getting the licence at the time, so they grabbed licence for some weird knock-off instead.
MY LEGS ARE OK
>fantasy didn't live to see the year of warhammer
If you are referring to the whole age of Sigmar shit then no one considers it canon and most are playing the old boardgame more than the new expensive toys.
There is also more games coming out to warhammer fantasy and none to age of Sigmar.
I just hope we're not just fighting Genestealers. Tyranids would be baller.
I really hope it sells well and they do others and make more games like it for the other races
genestealer cult?
oh boy
>tfw gaming is saved
This game looks amazing and keeps just getting more so.
I really hope that at some point in the game you end up in some ship that is just Nid biomass and you get to take on actual Tyranids ala the old Tyranid Attack game.
Also I can't wait to carve shit up with Lightning Claws.
Friendly thread reminder that the DoW franchise is 75% off on steam.

Wish I wasn't broke.
My mind can't still wrap itself around the fact that genestealers can cut through terminator armor like it was butter.
>You play a librarian
So we'll bet getting psyker powers?
Hope you are not implying that sound bad
Just not make it the same as the vermintide release which fucked the game to death
>get a notification that something big will happen in vermintide
>it's 21 days away from any sort of reveal
Fucking Swedes
they realized that tabletop gaming is dead and videogames are the logical successor.
>tfw Warcraft will finally be btfo like the shitty ripoff it is
Praise the Horned Rat
>it will be a kawaii cat ears hat
The more psychic genestealers had an upgrade for psychoreactive rending claws, since all genestealers have a small psychic potential it is not unlikely that even the normal rending claws has a weak psychic edge.
But canonically it's just because tyranids are awesome at bioengineering weapons and genestealers pack lots of strenght in a relatively small frame.
The protection Terminator armor gives is secondary to the ability to mount tank-grade weaponry on a person.
Their claws are mono-molecular or some bullshit. It makes sense they can wreck armor easily, it is getting through the fields that doesn't entirely make sense.
>But canonically it's just because tyranids are awesome at bioengineering weapons and genestealers pack lots of strenght in a relatively small frame.
I guess i could accept that, just look at the pistol shrimp.
AoS just needs time to expand its lore. The models for the Stormcast are awesome as fuck, but the lore about the whole reset is confusing as shit. Not only that but it whiped away 30 years of backstory and replaced it with vague stories that where confusing. As soon as they flesh it out a bit more, then I'll make my judgement on it, but for now though, it's not really fair to compare it to such a massive setting with 30 years of lore behind it
It better be some real fucking content
Now that the loot system is not worthless it is not even a long farm, just a tedious one.
>get to 1:35
>that shield bash
>localized damage
>mfw
How will they do the ships? They said there were unique layouts and such for each ship, but are they planning on adding some form of randomization so you aren't playing exactly the same ship layout each time?
I hope they stress how important it is to explore and grab tech and relics from these space derelicts in the setting. for instance there is one scenario in a book where they board a thousands year old ship which have automated doors which made the space marines shit themselves in awe.
Something like Warframe I imagine. Not sure If I wanted crafted maps or the random maps, with crafted maps youll get nice designs, but itll get to a point where people can jsut take the fastest route they can to the end because they know where everything is located, in random maps you have to actually search, but you wont get as well designed encounters.
I HAVE SHORT HAIR
I have never really gotten into warhammer stuff before but the idea of a few big space marines exploring these big derelicts seems really cool. Whats the best book they've written that involves this space hulk idea?
>for instance there is one scenario in a book where they board a thousands year old ship which have automated doors which made the space marines shit themselves in awe.
They don't have automated doors?
To enter another room they just shoot a hole in a wall.
Come on now.
Since this is a W40K thread, let me ask you guys something.
If I really like Nurgle what am I?
>They don't have automated doors?
No, they either have manual ones or the bigger ones they have ton of slaves or servoids (half man half machine but human brain controlling because AI is a big no no) pulling big chains to open shit.
A heretic.
>If I really like Nurgle
>not going to Space Hulks with a squad of Stormtroopers ayylmao style
>you start with yourself and 9 AI-controlled shitters
>if someone dies they cannot be replaced but you can loot their gear if its still intact
Of all 4, Nurgle really seems to be a very nice Father.
So they'll have an upgrade system similar to EYE is what you're saying, but you won't need to spend money to research it.
Neat.
Terminators are the coolest units
Wish it was Death Watch rather than DAngles
They have either manual doors or some servitor opening it because they dont like the idea of an automated thinking machine doing things on its own without interaction.
>automated doors are considered AI in 40K
The machine spirit will have the automated doors rise against their oppressors.
L4D:Spess Muhreen Edition
Yawn
>Chaos gods
>Nice
You're so human.
You are probably depressed and see Nurgle's gifts as a better alternative.
Give into despair and you will feel no pain.

This is now a Heretic thread.
Post Heresy.

This might actually come out this year too, FYI.
>GW releases a space marines film
>it's hot garbage
>a bunch of poor eastern europeans make an unofficial film that was rendered in real time with CryEngine
>it's fucking glorious
Sure hope they keep the deep-bass sound for terminator voices as heard in DoW.
nothing like dat terminator voice.
Well all Fantasy games planned or in production right now will be in the old fantasy setting but any viddy that will be made after AoS will be in the AoS fantasy setting.
>BFG Armada
>TERMINATORS! DEEP STRIKING!
...
terminator deep strikes should never fail except against battle-cruiser tier or higher ships of chaos and eldar.
what could possibly be aboard any small imperial/ork/eldar craft that could stop a squad of terminators?
chaos, obviously, could have a variety of countermeasures aboard any of their evil ships.
I think it's more about teleporters not working perfectly rather than terminators losing in combat.
whoops meant to say they should never fail against battlecruiser tier ships or higher of orks and eldar.
just get whoever made the dow 3 trailer to do the movie
money well spent
well the bullshit about ship troop strength is annoying. how your troop strength only matters defensively.
if the game was a little different you could have a squad of terminator or space marines deep strike and over a few minutes be able to damage the key components of the ship, but if you can't extract them via teleporter or assault pod then you lose the terminators/space marines permanently.
as far as armsmen go, who cares, you can sacrifice them by the tens of thousands, teleport them directly into the enemies macro cannon barrels and clog them
Still resisting the pleasure, Space Marine? Maybe I can make up your mind dressed like this.
>if the game was a little different you could have a squad of terminator or space marines deep strike and over a few minutes be able to damage the key components of the ship, but if you can't extract them via teleporter or assault pod then you lose the terminators/space marines permanently.
That's not how the tabletop works though
god forbid we adjust tabletop rules to make a video game more fun
Glad you understand.
wheres the dick
...
>That's not how the tabletop works though
And /tg/ says you're a idiot for thinking anyone gives a shit
The tabletop is objectively shit.
>you won't be able to play a stealer when you die in coop' (tested, it didn't work well)
atleast they tried it, it's probably better that way
dev not being stuborn is a first
