what's up with all these WH40K games?
GW handing out that licence like crazy
>From the same devs as the Van Helsing Trilogy
I once played the Final Edition for a review, it was okay
>no gameplay
>explains what "cover" is
>looks like a shit gears of war
>all tech, no fun
this game blows dude
gw gave the license to literally anyone who asked, the shovelware games came out and the ones that took effort are starting to come out.
It's time for our wave of good 40K vidya at the moment.
Every day I come here there's another trailer for different W40K game.
Is that a bad thing?
Wow...
Looks Amazing....

>cover
>in an arpg
>provides a more realistic approach to firefights
>IN AN ARPG
its shit
>ARPG
throw it in the trash
This. Also spess mareens all over again, now with fucking cover system.
>provides a more realistic approach to firefights
>in 40k
>cover
>in 40k
Game looks good, but I don't get the cover thing.
We're getting ready to fucking destroy those vagina faced retards.
Now I have sudden urge to replay space marine's jetpack levels
I suspect it's a legact of DoW 2, which itself was a legacy of Company of Heroes. They're probably trying to fuse something people have come to expect (even if DoW 2s switch to being CoH: 40k edition was not universally appreciated) in with a Diablo clone.
Idk, might be fun, we'll see. This new GW approach seems to be "throw everything at the wall, see what sticks" so some of them will probably stick. Armada is a pretty cool game.
And Battlefleet Gothic Armada which is actually pretty good
What I don't understand about WH40K tho...
Why do some space marines (often major or renowned) go into the battle without their helmets on? In a battlefield full of lasers and bullets, they can be instantly killed with just either a stray bullet or a precise shot
noice
...
comfort i would guess and in some chapters cases probably a demonstration of bravery in "a battlefield full o death"
i could be wrong however
That's jsut the rule of cool for the poster shots
But there are Iron Halos that do a forcefield kind of thing around the head and can walk around freely in a bullet hell.
>This new GW approach seems to be "throw everything at the wall, see what sticks" so some of them will probably stick.
This is not a new approach, it has always been the case. The difference is that just more (quality) developers are approaching GW nowadays.
They've never made a secret out of their policy for giving the IP out. They always answered at Q&As during game days or in fanmail, that pretty much anyone can approach them, and if the idea sounds like it's gonna be a decent product, then you got yourself a deal.
tl;dr - GW didn't change anything. Its just more devs coming to them these days.
Because it looks cool.
Seriously though. Don't forget that this is a tabletop game with tabletop lore. It's primary goal is to be "awesome" not realistic.
multiplayer is decent at best
Singleplayer campaign is a fucking disgrace
>that bolter sound
>Being this misguided
If at least one of those sentences would be correct, I could just file it under shit taste. But both of them are as far away from reality as it could be.
Ahh I see. I had thought they were pretty niggardly with the license in the past.
Well it suits me fine, I love the setting.
What's your problem with the single player? It's the same as a DoW campaign, you're given a game world and a few game modes and let loose.
Campaign is great you ugly turd
I know Space Marines are the poster boy of 40k but can we get at least a Imperial Guard game or something? unless the game is a RTS 40k basically just means Space Marines or the Space Marines are the "Main" Story.
Oh, good.
I was afraid we could have an actual RPG, that would have been terrible...
Why are warhammer games usually so based?
That guy isn't a space marine.
It's an inquisitor with power armor.
Why wouldn't they? It's free money.
>Пoжaлyйcт
>a, Бoжe, нe
>кoнeц eгo,
>кaк этo
So a space marine with a slightly bigger stick up his ass?
>warhammer 40k inquisitor martyr
Vaporware
Inquisitors aren't space marines you idiot
not a space marine m8
>Can't even move while shooting
Hahahaha, this really looks like shit.
Hes a space marine to make it easier to market no one cares about inquisitors.
No.
It's an inquisitor with power armor.
Sororitas wear power armor and they aren't space marines.
If someone is wearing power armor it doesn't mean he's a space marine.
>warhammer 40k: inquisitor martyr
>"no it's a space marine"
Alright then.
So a Space Marine in all but name to 90% of the people who will view the game?
No.
It's an inquisitor with power armor.
So a Space Marine who kills forces of Chaos?..A Space Marine?
No.
It's an inquisitor with power armor.
No, a Space Marine with money, friends, and a working dick.
Looks fun.
What a time to be a Warhammer fan.
A Space Marine is a genetically engineered, cybernetic altered and trained super soldier picked mostly since youth to serve in the most extreme battle conditions. Trained with zeal and contempt for those who threaten the Holy Emperor, they come in chapters and in fewer numbers. Space Marines are only called into action when shit hits the fan and most chapters act on their own.
An Inquisitor is a more regular human BUT they work for the - i wonder - Inquisition that looks for heresy inside the Imperium. They're like the police.
>2016
>all these Warhammer games
It's the year of purging
Power Armor is just an armor.
It's not exclusive to the SM. At least, the SM pattern is, obviously, since you need a Black Caparace connected to your spine and nervous system to make it work properly. And that takes a Space Marine big guy to withstand the procedure.
W40k Universe is fucking big and expansive. Not everything is SM wankery. Or at least shouldn't be since the Codexes are so fucking RICH and the lore is massive.
Secret police would be better.
The actual police are the Adeptus Arbites.
They are more like secret police than regular police
It's the year of shovelware
I'll just leave this here and go pray our Emperor.
Obviously they're undercover below their gigantic ornamental uniforms
>Hello, fellow hive citizens! Have you by any chance know a place where I can praise the Ruinous Powers around? No? maybe a Genestealer Cult - not that I know what are those - right?
>No? Fuck you then eat plasma lowlife.
Moment Relic got bankrupt they lost the exclusive rights for the IP and GW gave it out to anyone that wanted to make 40k games
Remember
When in doubt
Exterminatus
That was over 3 years ago. You can't tell me these games took 3 years just to get into their early access phases.
