Ratchet and Clank is shit and a flop

>Ratchet and Clank is shit and a flop

Will we ever get a good video game movie?

Take it to Sup Forums

I like how every fucking one conveniently forgets about Wreck It Ralph every single time one of these threads are made.

Yes it fucking counts.

>Implying Racket Rolf is a video game property.

>Yes it fucking counts.
The film stops being about traveling between game worlds less than halfway through to focus on Candy Land. Shit, there's a reason they called it "Sugar Rush" in Japan and marketed it like this.

>Will we ever get a good video game movie?

Already did. They're called Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil and Prince of Persia.

>t-t-those are shit

Then your opinion is worthless and I hope your entire family burns in a house fire.

They are meme movies

the first Persona 3 movie was pretty good

>Mortal Kombat
nigga, that's a guilty pleasure
the only legitimately good thing about it was the soundtrack and hearing Scorpion shout GET OVER HERE

Ralph isn't a goddamn asian name, you retard

>They are meme movies

You're a meme.

At least the game was a huge success.

>rotten tomatoes
didnt these guys give the lego movie a low score

When people say "videogame movie" they are blatantly referring to movies based on pre-existing properties

It was cheesy and I liked it for that,

Neither is Shrek. What point were you even trying to make?

>the only legitimately good thing about it

It's an enjoyable film to watch despite any flaws it may have, and that makes it a "good" movie. I don't care for any hipster garbage and memes, if a movie is enjoyable, it is good.

For what it's worth, I worked on this film and it was corporate meddling from top to bottom. I'm not saying removing the suits from the equation would fix the problems with it, but the shot callers on the corporate level are morons.

No? The Lego Movie has a 92% iirc

Wreck-It Ralph is like the complete opposite of video game adaptions
>good movie
>shit games
inb4 Sanic Racing counts as a Wreck-It Ralph game because you say so

...

...

Video Game stories are generally garbage but gamers are plebs of course so they think it's groundbreaking shit (similar to capeshit fans). Like there are people on Sup Forums who unironically think Kojima is a good storyteller.

>Like there are people on Sup Forums who unironically think Kojima is a good storyteller.
Not after MGSV.

>Those
>Good

>>featuring dante from the devil may cry series

no

I hope you think of me and this thread when everyone you care about is dying.

>Not after MGSV.
If you thought so before the point still stands.

MK is in the same vein as Big Trouble in little china, its campy and the early MK games were inspired as such and filled with kungfu movie tropes.

If you think MK isnt a good movie you are either ignorant or just have shit taste.

>If you think MK is a good movie you are either ignorant or just have shit taste.

fixed your typo

MK isn't a good movie. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, though.

>Its campy
>Its filled with tropes
>That makes it good

??

>MK is in the same vein as Big Trouble in little china
Big Trouble in Little China is actually good and was meant to be a comedy.

Funny how Nintendrones keep spamming the movie score while ignoring the game on Sup Forums. Why aren't you playing Star Fox instead?

>Getting this defensive when nobody even mentioned Nintendo

Honestly, everyone's better off playing the actual Ratchet game.

Nobody mentioned the movie on Sup Forums either. Sup Forums exists for a reason. It's funny how much shitposters starting to care about the shitty movie once the game was a hit and Star Fox fucking flopped.

>Nobody mentioned the movie on Sup Forums either
It's in the OP. The topic is video game movies.
>being this desperate to start consolewars

How on earth did you pull Nintendo out of this thread?

yes

This movie wasn't COMPLETE garbage other than muh evil church.

No. Most of the time video games only work because of the actual gameplay combined with story, characters etc. The story on its own doesn't hold up well enough to be made into a movie. Also, games are usually 10+ hours long whereas movies are typically around 2; trying to condense the entire game into "something" that makes sense and is enjoyable is impossible.

Rotten Tomatoes doesn't give reviews

Ratchet and Clank could have made a good movie though if they just adapted the actual story from R&C1.

The movie doesn't follow the game at all and it's filled with a bunch of little shit referential jokes and some of the worst slapstick ever.

Why wouldn't sanic racing count? Ralph is even in it.

Where's the Sugar Rush level?

How would you fix it Sup Forums?

We've been through this, user.

Video games are a lower art form than movies, in the same way that movies are a lower art form than books.

You can make a good movie from a book, you can make a good video game from a movie, but it doesn't go the other way.
You cannot make a good movie from a video game, and you cannot make a good book from a movie.

This is universally true. The extremely rare exceptions only prove the rule.

i think its pretty good actually 2bh
now the one based on 3.....jesus
at least Heather was an ultra qt

Cut Paul. Bring back Kevin Michael Richardson to voice Drek.
Cut Stallone's character entirely and restore Qwark's role as Drek's secret hired muscle.
Cut Drek's little minions.
Cut all the new Galatic Rangers characters they added.
Cut John Goodman's character

Start the movie with with Deplanetizer blowing up a planet and Clank's birth.

Adapt the rest of the first game from there with Ratchet and Clank traveling through the universe in the search of Qwark and Drek. You don't need every planet (we can skip Skid McMarx, Novalis, and other non-essential planets).

You have to keep Qwark's betrayal and Clank accidentally luring Ratchet into a trap (it doesn't have to be on Umbris. The scenario just has to exist. It's important for the characters).

Keep Ratchet getting pissed at Clank.

Some sappy moments here and there and bring them back together in order to stop Drek from destroying Veldin.

You can bust out Giant Clank here as a fan service.

Use a similar ending to the one in the game to close the movie.

There's really nothing much to fix from the original game. It's just a matter of cutting the non-essential scenes and planets and focusing on the heart of the story. How Ratchet and Clank became Ratchet and Clank.

>Sugar Rush
>Also may include Videogames
I kind of like it

>Will we ever get a good video game movie?
>implying

The movie is not bad, it's just generally unfunny and you feel like you wasted your time if you already played the game.

>Its not bad, its just unfunny and a waste of time

Even if it weren't based off a video game (and it's very losely based), it would still be a bad movie.

This tbqh

you know it be true

The trailer looks like another generic kiddie trash movie. Why is Disney the only people not making animated movies full of fart jokes in america?

Fucking classic

The Metal Gear movie wasn't great, but it wasn't entirely bad either. It had its moments, like the scenes where they recreated the Shadow Moses base from the first game. There were some plotholes if you try to line it up with the games, like the ending and Big Boss being alive, and the guy who played Snake looks nothing like the Snake from the games, but overall it's passable.

It was ok, that's kinda it, Layton and Hardcore henry are where it's at.

I am, it's not my fault Ratchet hasn't had a great game since the third or that Ratchet has been insurability bland as a character since 2.

How can a """""game""""" with no plot be made into a movie?

No it doesn't.

>it's not my fault Ratchet hasn't had a great game since the third

Why do you lie?

neither is John or Tony but that doesn't mean there isn't a ラルフ, ジョン, or トニー
