Anyone ever have to deal with something like this before?

I have pirated literally one game ever, which was Lego Worlds almost a year ago and I didn't get this notification about it until today. Never pirated anything else.
Only downloaded it because it was early access and wanted to see if it was worth the 15$ (it wasn't, only had like 3 hours of content at the time)

>inexperienced with how to pirate games properly
>get popped
>wonder why

I mean it's just a warning, so I'm not worried about it.
I just never realized anyone actually did anything about pirates

hoolay sheit op, you're fucked

Burn your computer quickly, that way they can find you.

the matrics has you opie

The party van is coming for you OP.

Make sure no one in your house is torrenting shit. Plus secure your router. Usually one would receive that alert/notice within a week, not years.

>not having a dynamic ip
>not using a proxy or VPN

In Europe there is a fad of German rights holders to certain movies and shows sending mass DMCAs to everyone, hoping that a handful of people will take the bait and pay the fee without asking questions. If anything happens just ignore and deny it, if you just keep stating it wasn't you, act ignorant and claim that someone with malicious intent "hacked into my router and pirated" or whatever you'll be fine.

>have a bro-tier IP that doesn't give a shit about torrents
>torrent all I want without hassle or fear for $40 a month
Sounds like a tough spot you're in, OP

Just ignore it, they can't do shit.

What the fuck would a dynamic IP do in this case? The ISP still knows who the IPs are assigned to.

>live in eastern europe
>faster internet than anything in the US short of google fiber
>nobody gives a flying fuck what I download and when
>can pirate anything and everything, download all the cp on the internet

Freedom feels good.

that info is outdated. The major firms doing this now go to court in about 15% of the cases (and win) so it's a gamble to ignore it now. That being said, the fees for a court case will only be about 1500 more.

I don't use proxies or a vpn and i dont have a dynamic ip, but ive been pirating games for 10 years now and no one gives a shit. Seems like you're just unlucky OP

Enjoy the v&

For a video game? I didn't think it was worth the money for game companies. Did they tell you the exact file and time?

Kek, same here.
My friend down the street has a different internet provider and gets a letter if he even downloads a single song.

Don't DCMAs are supposed to be sent to hosts and not end users?

>he still believes in the "proxies/VPNs make you 100% safe" meme.
If people want info on you, they're getting it.

>1TB monthly bandwidth usage
>Never been pestered by anyone
Feels pretty good man.

This. All you have to be is simply online. You don't even need to have a connection to a website, though that makes finding you that much easier.

That's the one good thing about having a slant eye owned ISP, they don't give a fuck about copyright.

>he thinks the ISP won't know which address is assigned to which client
>he seriously believes that in this day and age someone has a static IP

I'm the only one that torrents and it only listed Lego World under the DMCA

Nothing is 100% safe, but simply increasing the effort they have to do to get your information is enough.

Downloaded some cp? God can't save you.
Downloaded your favorite Chinese carton which got licensed in your country? People will try to track you down, but as soon as they realize you used some proxy or VPN they will stop since searching and tracking you down would cost more than they would get from you.

It would not let me access the internet until I clicked through this screen
Although I didn't have to agree anything or incriminate myself

The hosts get them and then forward it to the user without identifying them to the copyright holder

Such is the life in America. Just get another ISP dude.

land of the free indeed

I get these all the fucking time from charter, they just send these warning things to scare you into stopping they can't prove who actually committed the crime as long as you don't admit to anything you're in the clear to continue pirating.

Call these fuckers, tell them you are distatisfied with their treatment of paying customers and request a termination of contract, then get a different ISP.
I bet they'll offer to suck your cock to keep you.

>good internet in eastern europe

lol I have 150mbps connection for $30/m here in america, what's your speed Boris?

>he gets a fucking warning
man you got it easy, I only fucked up once but they fucking CHARGED me.

>without identifying them to the copyright holder

Then won't the warning be as useless as UN deep concern, as long as the user don't do bullshit like selling those pirated files or madthad tier stupidity like openly stating that they pirating those files?

protip: just ignore it. they can't legally do anything about it UNLESS you go through that process and admit guilt.

even if they try to take you to court, precedent has it that they can't prove it was you. could have been someone else on the wireless network.

centurylink isn't gonna cut you off cause that would mean they'd lose a customer

>using public trackers

kek

What happened, why did you fuck up so badly, and what did you pirate?

>CenturyLink
Found your problem, OP

OP, what torrent site did you download from?

I torrented in a country where it's fucking stupid to do so because you easily get caught that way. It was Dude Sex.

I didn't even play much of it.

centurylink is like a fucking cockroach. they're everywhere and can't get rid of them. they've completely taken over all the bumfuck backroad areas in the US, so for a lot of people it's either CLink or satellite

i work with centurylink a lot (not for them) and they're as incompetent and shitty on the inside as they seem on the outside. i thought charter was a shit company, then i met centurylink

Here I thought this might be something interesting, but it looks like it's just a faggot being an idiot, same as always.

wanna fuq?

Public anonymous proxy before you torrent.

>being charged for being a literal faggot.
consider yourself lucky. Are you from the middle east or something?

no..im not a gay
I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if I lived there.

Anyway I'm out, the door rang.

What is your ISP, JewVerse charges like $40 for 6mbps

For piracy purposes? It's 100% safe. Companies will not file subpoenas and get warrants for someone who pirated a few movies/songs/games. It will cost them far more than it would ever be worth.

If you're doing something seriously illegal and the feds are on your ass, then yes, a VPN will not save you

>pirates gay porn
>gets caught by the fuzz
>not gay

No need to be so modest. It's okay. show us your boipuss

Better start planning your prison trip now because it's gonna be a long stay.
