lock-on has a mod, though you need a retexture to make it not look disgusting.
I remember playing with tkdodge, script dragon version. Was pretty good and responsive, remember it trivializing giants because of the iframes and how predictable their attacks were. Not sure if those mods work well together. I do know loverslab has a dark souls combat mod that adds poise and fast-fat rolls, which work even better with tkdodge, but I've never tried using all of those together.

The soundtrack is pretty good and Skyrim itself has a lot of interesting lore that can be discovered through various books and NPCs. There's also a couple of neat quests, mostly the ones that involve Daedra. The game also offers a lot of different ways to tackle situations. Of course stealth archery is the easiest but there's plenty of other options to the player as well.
It's the weakest Elder Scrolls game sans Arena and potentially Daggerfall but it's hardly irredeemable and it's laughable that you'd try to sell it as such.

There was a guy, Oscar, who modded the shit out of Skyrim to be like Dark Souls because he was in a black-out from /dsg/ during the months before DaS3's release. You could probably ask around for Oscar's webms, ask if anyone remembers what mods he had (or him, if he's still there).

Every few months, get the urge to reinstall and actual finish the game, but the combat is so dull.

there are gameplay mods, so many of them. At this point you can basically have anything in skyrim, the only reason im not playing it right now is because getting all those mods to work together is going to take days and i mean it.
