The series have different appeals. Persona 5 is going for standard crowd of the series, light otaku. On the other hand, FFXV targets normalfags and fujoshi.

FFXV will sell ten times more than P5, it's obvious. Also FF is released worldwide in September while P5 will be out in the West in early 2017 at best.

However, P5 will be much more profitable than FF. Square-Enix spent an ridiculous amount of money on XV and it guaranteed that they will never see it back no matter how well the game sell. On the other hand, P5 is an PS3 game by a small studio which is ported on PS4 for minimal cost and maximum profit.

tl;dr : FFXV will sell more but P5 will be the most successful.
