So realistically what changes are you expecting? We already know

>"Nothing is off the table" in terms of story changes
>new battle system
>multi-part release, which is likely to be more than 3 based on SQUENIX's refusal to disclose exactly how many it will be
>Compilation shit is confimed to be in, we just don't know what specifically
>Normura has said that many of the younger staff have tried to push against his changes
>localisation is closer to the Jap script, meaning Barret won't be a nignog, Tifa probably won't say retard
>Cross-dressing is in
>Honey Bee Inn is confirmed, however it has been implied that it might be redacted from its original version due to modern expectations

At the end of the day, I just want the Remake to feel like VII with a fresh coat of paint. I don't want it to be a completely different game that merely has the original cast in it.

>inb4 Tifa's tits getting downsized

No. There are many more important things SQUENIX could fuck up.

>At the end of the day, I just want the Remake to feel like VII with a fresh coat of paint. I don't want it to be a completely different game that merely has the original cast in it.

Basically this. I just wanted FFVII brought up to modern graphical quality, a better translation/explanation of plot stuff, a somewhat balanced combat system since it was super broken, small areas expanded, and more content in general (new bosses, new areas, etc). Instead it feels like we're getting FFXV with Cloud thrown in which really sucks. I know I'm in the minority here but I genuinely prefer turn-based combat to whatever half-assed action system they have in the modern games. If the system was cleaned up and improved it would be amazing, but instead they're scrapping it and just using a totally different system. With this system party members may not feel as important or integral to battles since you're only controlling one at a time really.

At this point I don't know if it even interests me anymore. Waiting for a multi-part RPG spread out with a combat system I don't enjoy as much and tons of moments altered/removed doesn't appeal.

Its nothing like XV

It looked like it was based on the trailer. It wasn't using a turn-based system, party members were just kinda around also fighting, and movement seemed controlled by the player during fights. It looks like a system from FFXV or something. Regardless, even if it isn't similar it's still not just turn-based which is not something I enjoy.

I swear to god if gackt is in this I will burn japan down

I want a Cloud and Reeves romance.

I no longer care. Episodic and including Compilation shit is enough to turn me off the game completely.

dropped like it's mobileshit

Honeybee getting severely censored

Cid dialogue being rewritten

Tifa tits smaller and her more covered up

Barret dialogue censored

Genesis being shoe horned in the game

I really just want the combat to be fun and the locations to look amazing.

Also, the snowboarding minigame better be made by the team that did SSX

>has muscles
>still looks like a wimp

How does japan manage to do this?

I want Weiss to appear in the final battle killing Sephiroth and fighting Cloud and then the game switches perspectives and you play as Weiss and kill Cloud because Weiss is the best and Cloud sucks ass.

It kind of is. Like says there's direct player movement and controlled combat.

It sort of looks like a hybrid of XIII and XV's systems where it's like an action based system, but has buttons like attack, magic, defend etc.

Realistically, I think they are going to make Cloud more emo like a lot of people THINK Cloud was like in the original.

If it is good, I'll probably buy it once they do the inevitable "GOTY all episodes in one" version.

Square's hurting financially, right?
So what the fuck are they doing taking a risk reinventing the game instead of remaking it?
Fucking ship that shit with prerendered backgrounds and cash your cheque Square.
Fuck you nips are dumb.

Everything about Crisis Core's lore was fucking garbage.

I sincerely hope none of that shit is in this game. Zack's death gave me feels tho, but the rest can fuck off.

>Genesis being shoe horned in the game
are you fucking serious

How would Genesis even be in the game, outside of the Nibelheim flashback? He's in a coma or some shit from CC to DoC

Convoluted quest which allows you to save Aeristh.

Convoluted DLC you mean.

:^)

"THE GIFT OF THE GODDESS"
I actually liked Genesis's character. All he really needed was a redemption scene followed by him getting BTFO for being a complete jackass

No it didn't, 7r is entirely menu based just in real time , kitase even said it's not really action based

XV is a full fledged action rpg with weapon switching, aerial combat, Dodge rolls, jumping etc

7r is a mix of ff12 and LR more than anything else

Honestly, I think Sup Forums is just too invested in assuming the worst possible scenario for everything under the sun. People here are addicted to their own disappointment in everything, and the Remake just just the right buzzwords for Sup Forums indulge in that addiction.

Personally, I'm pretty stoked. MY biggest fear is that it would have been a simple retread of FFVII with updated graphics and absolutely none of the immersion in the world that made playing it back then such a joy. Instead, it actually seems like they're invested in making the world seem like an actual, y'know, WORLD, and unlike FFXV, which I'm terrified is going to be the next MGSV, the multi-game structure means that it's going to maintain a solid direction that drives the player instead of focusing on the open world aspect of exploring vast plains of nothingness in hopes of finding something interesting. Sure, call the multi-part release a cash-grab, because it certainly is, but it's a cash grab with an upside; the locations, story beats, and smaller character arcs will all be much more expansive and involved in order to achieve the full-length games they are aiming for (I'm already fucking hyped for what they have in store for J/B/W and Midgar.)

I'm not even really all that bothered by Compilation shit appearing. Genesis can't be featured because he's sealed underground during FFVII and Angeal is dead, not to mention they'd have to renegotiate Gackt's contract with his agent and that's a pain in the ass for getting a character that can't be part of the story due to canon circumstances. I'd be okay if Cloud could find and use his sword as an equip-able weapon, however. Everything else is either characters or stuff that was informed by the original game to begin with or Cissnei, who is the one Compilation OC that I actually really want to make an appearance.

Not bothered about the combat system because the original's wasn't great to begin with aside from the materia system.

>because he's sealed underground during FFVII
Except for the Nibelheim reactor flashbacks.

Is it weird that I want Cloud's Buster sword to be the ONLY available weapon for Cloud in the game, kind of like Crisis Core?

>is it weird that I'm a shit eating moron who wants less weapons
yes.

>I know I'm in the minority here but I genuinely prefer turn-based combat to whatever half-assed action system they have in the modern games

Then you're outright a faggot. Even if you balanced it, FFVII's combat system is fundamentally garbage and the simple addition of movement immediately results in it being better. It was always half-assed. People who hate action games in favor of random stand-in-a-row turn based fights just don't understand action games and deserve to be called out.

>With this system party members may not feel as important or integral to battles since you're only controlling one at a time really.

FFVII's characters were largely interchangeable. This will actually make their base weapon attacks distinct enough to matter.

>FFVII's characters were largely interchangeable.
Technically, their stats and limit breaks played a big role in how they can be differentiated (particularly Aeris,) but seeing as this factor can be retained and even improved in a real time system, I'll concede that it has the potential to be better.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't kill aeris in this one. Maybe a twist no one expects, like tifa gets killed, or Barrett.

>get to the death scene, Barret dies.
>Turns out this is a doomed timeline
>have to keep replaying the game figuring out how to get into the timelime where Aries dies

Only MGS “fans” and Sup Forums, bitch about MGSV. Most people really enjoyed the game. It only got a little worse when people knew the game they got was not complete.

MGSV was solid, I've played them all on release and they're all fantastic and flawed games.

What I want from this game is for it to play with my expectations. I have ff7 I enjoyed it but I'd like to see a twist to the formula. If they make the combat not ass that would be fantastic. I'm surprised some people wanted the exact same combat, we all figured out how to break that shit years ago and breaking the combat in a ff is part of the fun.

>underage, the post

FFXIII had movement and it sucked
movement means nothing when you only control one character's movement while the others' are left to their dumb A.I.
turn based battle systems exist so the player can manually input commands for multiple party members without the need of an A.I. system
just because your ADD riddled brain prevents you from enjoying TB, doesn't mean they exist for no reason

>Most people really enjoyed the game.
I see a lot more lukewarm receptions to it, honestly.

Mechanically, it's stellar, but it has no structure whatsoever, and in a lot of ways, it's almost entirely devoid of any charm, thought, or soul.

It's just mechanics. Great mechanics, but mechanics that would have been much more at home in a series of Ground Zeroes-type enclosed environment.

So they perfected MGS's mechanics, but threw away the environment that it'd be best suited for.

The reason why I'm scared of FFXV turning out like it is because of all the focus on the open world they're putting. I'm beginning to think the direction won't have any real structure and as a result, any sort of events or circumstances will feel very disjointed.

>FFXIII
What the fuck, no it didn't. There was no manual movement in XIII whatsoever during battle, just paradigm shifts.

FF7 will always be FF7 in my child heart, I'm just going to treat this as another game completely. Just because of nostalgia it will never have the same charm, it's impossible to recreate that feeling.

>Honestly, I think Sup Forums is just too invested in assuming the worst possible scenario for everything under the sun.
I know that having faith in AAA Japanese vidya companies isn't exactly the smartest idea nowadays, but I agree.
>unlike FFXV, which I'm terrified is going to be the next MGSV
I haven't played MGSV but the biggest problems with it seem to be not having much to do outside of mission areas with makes the open world structure feel superfluous and making the story spread out really thin because of the mission based structure which worked better in PW because that was a handheld game. FFXV could be the next MGSV if it is bad since they're both open world but it likely won't suffer from the same problems that MGSV had.

Part one is Until Aerith Dies.
Part 2 is everything after Aerith Dies.
Pat 3 is when Cloud goes invalid and you play the remake of Crisis core and then the final dungeon of FF7 but after you beat sephiroth you unlock a extra chapter where you fight vs Genesis

XIII didn't really have movement. Characters did move around in battle but you couldn't control it, which was fucking dumb and pointless.

it had movement, but it wasn't under your control which is why it's terrible
a game that made positioning matter but gave you no control over your character's movement - brilliant

>The reason why I'm scared of FFXV turning out like it is because of all the focus on the open world they're putting.
It's more like the older games but on a 1:1 scale than a true "open world", you can travel from place to place either by chocobo or car but you can't go everywhere at once.
>I'm beginning to think the direction won't have any real structure and as a result, any sort of events or circumstances will feel very disjointed.
The direction is still bound by the story so it's not like you can fuck off and do whatever from the beginning. Nobody would say that FFVIII or X's stories are disjointed just because you can ignore the plot and play Triple Triad/Blitzball as much as you want.

I would actually be thrilled if there were pre-rendered backgrounds

If Aeris is called Aerith i'm not buying it.

>The direction is still bound by the story so it's not like you can fuck off and do whatever from the beginning.
I could have sworn that during one of the developer presentations they said that the majority of the world map would be accessible shortly after the start of the game.

>it had movement, but it wasn't under your control which is why it's terrible
It didn't make a single difference. It was literally the same ATB but your characters could change positions, which only affected anything from an aesthetic point. They could have had them standing in a line and nothing would have changed.

I'm expecting everything to be new. I don't want to be one of those killjoys that only compare the new game to their own nostalgia.

Nah, attacks hit in a certain area. If you timed attacks you could force your dudes to dodge shit.

> majority of the world map would be accessible shortly after the start of the game.
Not really. You're probably hearing XV-kun bullshit. GameInformer pretty much squashed that rumour after playing the “chapter 1” of the game. The way the world is designed in XV is, the road and the car is some sort of “rail” that connects between two plot points. The open world areas are only there to make the players feels less restricted like in XIII.

> So realistically what changes are you expecting? We already know
Honestly, I don't a give a damn anymore. SE is making a new game, with only major plot points and characters (just the aesthetics not personality-wise) are being kept. I'm honestly really dissapointed and just angry with the reasoning and the decision about the multi-part series bs. Modern gaming industry is so bad right now. Even P5 is going to have DLCs.

I expect the battle system to still be ATB only instead of standing around, there's roaming and minor attacks like what would happen if you use no magic/abilities in FF12

I also expect chocobo breeding to get much simpler.

>At the end of the day, I just want the Remake to feel like VII with a fresh coat of paint. I don't want it to be a completely different game that merely has the original cast in it.
Go on PSN, they remastered the original for you and all the other oldfags that keep whining about this. It's not happening. It's going to be different and NOT turn based.

>Genesis being shoe horned in the game

Please lord don't let this happen.

>I also expect chocobo breeding to get much simpler.

>Choose two chocobos to fuck and give them a nut

How could it get any simpler?

>Forgetting about S rank

I mean in the process of making green/blue/black/gold

I don't care if they add stuff in to be honest. i'm just glad we're getting a remake.

Fucking disney piece of shit, they ruin everything. I hate them, I'll stay with my original FF VII by Sakaguchi and the music by Aonuma.

He won't, don't worry

>I don't know what a remake is
>I don't know what a remaster is
>I want a completely different game

Go fuck off and play XV then you underage faggot.

Will there still be 3 hour optional boss fights where you watch the full knights of the round animation 200 times?

I don't want all the nonsense with Genesis. He was an atrocious character and I'll be extremely disappointed if they retroactively make him important in FF7 Remake.

I'm curious as to what we'll see with Zack. We got a pretty cool Zack in Crisis Core, with a nice end for him that was much better than the very short and undetailed info we got in FF7, but really that's all I want from Crisis Core.

Honey Bee Inn can go as far as I'm concerned, it was pretty retarded. Cross Dressing was great though, that had better stay, as well as the dating in Gold Saucer.
