I don't understand this myself. I never lag with the japs and euro trash but when I play with only Americans it's unbearable every other match.

most people here in the states have really garbage internet
also, they're likely playing with their wifi router several rooms away

also, IIRC AT&T's standard router setup is actually awful and there are reports of people occasionally getting 1000ms ping to the router for no explainable reason (not even to the outside internet, that's just to the fucking box in the house)
