Is there any actual advantage to having an arm cannon as opposed to a normal handheld weapon?
Is there any actual advantage to having an arm cannon as opposed to a normal handheld weapon?
No lose gun only arm
less recoil
in samus's case you have infinite ammo in most situations
Maybe But you lose practicality since there's only so much you can do with only having one hand free.
Always wanted them to make it so that Samus could transform the arm cannon into just a standard hand for utility purposes, if she ever needed to.
you cant drop it or get in knocked off
>extremely powerful
>can be upgraded
>unlimited energy thanks to spacebird magic
it makes your game's gun violence nintendo approved
Sure but what's stopping other weapons in the Metroid universe from having infinite ammo?
This is actually a good point.
some fag can't knock it out of your hands and start using it
You can hit things with it
>true but what's stopping other weapons in the Metroid universe from having infinite ammo?
That's a fair point, how about the fact that it's upgradeable and can become more and more powerful thanks to its Chozo origins and the suits ability to modify itself. I doubt many things in the Metroid universe can do that
How does Samus climb ladders with that arm cannon?
she just space jumps ups that shit
you can smack the fuck out of someone
also shoot
You guys do know that it's been shown multiple times that it can let her hand go free right?
Megaman always had the right idea, his arm cannons turn into hands when he's not shooting.
what if the ladder is higher than her space jump distance, even after upgrading?
do you have a link to an image, or screen-shot? I'd like it for reference.
>Completely modular
>Cannot be disarmed unless LITERALLY disarmed
>Cannot be used by space pirates because the interface is made for human anatomy, if anything, biologically connected to only Samus
>Architecture is manipulable and not conformed to a single form, meaning it can be a pistol, shotgun, plasma gun, missile launcher, etc.
On top of that, the recoil on a weapon like that would be much much higher than even the highest recoil armed weaponry people can carry in their hands
Having the recoil absorbed throughout the arm and the body allows for the sudden recoil to dissipate and spread down the whole arm instead of the wrist. Space Pirates, GFeds, and Samus all use arm cannons, and it would make sense why they would all use the similar design for that reason. But most likely it was for cool looking design choices.
Chozo tech is mad advance, its basically magic with a technological shell, the GF marines weapons are are magazine based, the Taylor's crew complained about how the attacks were wittling down their reserves, when the ultra stingy guy's ammo.
It builds more muscle?
women get tired holding a gun for too long, same reason they shouldn't be allowed in any real army
Slide her left hand up the side bars maybe? It's not that difficult.
>No sources
Got any sources on that?
Can't drop it with the rest of your powerups at the beginning of each game if it is attached to your arm.
>Can't be disarmed unless your literally disarmed
>less recoil
>More accurate
> Can club a motherfucker with it
>Looks cool
Better question is why wouldn't you want a cannon arm?
Yes, there is
Much easier to absorb recoil, but that's really about it.
You can easily create a reason for a handheld device that overcomes these downsides, though.
Spin jump into spiderball and roll up the ladder.
All of your weapons are conveniently equipped at the same time.
...
She's also strong as shit. She can climb a ladder pretty quickly with one hand.
Yea, she could climb even quicker with two hands but it's hardly ever an issue because they don't use ladders in space.
She can infinite space jump after upgrading but only if you git gud
