The humidity. If you havent been in totally saturated air at summer temps in the south, you wouldn't know. It's hell man. 107 in Texas at 20% humidity was far more tolerable to me than 95 at 100% humidity in the southeast.

It's like wearing a damp comforter around you in the heat. If you work outside or spend time outside its fucking awful. It's my biggest complaint about the south easily.
