Well thats what happens when a company has literally no competition.
>$100 or more for a fucking calculator
I can't wait for AMD to BTFO Intel/Nvidia this gen. Fuck them and their jewery
>$50 or more to access your own internet.
But user, if it's smaller then the electricity can move through it faster.
LOL
nothing can go faster than light
I do not recalled ever paying $100 for a TI-83. My TI-89 was 100+ in 2006 though.
My brother had to pay hundreds of dollars for a titanium tooth to replace a dead one. It's smaller than a CPU.
>8 threads meme
>3.7 ghz meme
Exactly, thank you for proving my point
there's no reason for the average consumer to buy an i7
My 4790k was $120 and I'm going to pick up a 6700K for $140 soon.
Intel retail edge. Its pretty ok.
Yeah I mean, it's not like fabricating microprocessors requires millions upon millions of dollars worth of equipment, millions upon millions, if not billions, of man-hours of design, engineering, testing, r&d, per generation, the ability to produce extremely pure elements/molecules and then finely alter them by passing in other atoms, all done in an environment several orders of magnitude cleaner and void of unwanted particulate matter than an operating theater.
Oh wait.
>tfw I found one of these randomly at school
Fucking loved that thing.
>Intel retail edge
my gentleman of color!
Actually a white grill.
I dont even work in an electronics department. I'm a frozen dairy stocker at Walmart but I can still claim it because they're part of the program. Its great.
why dont you go learn about processors and tell me that they're just metal squares
i dunno about you but fuck the daily challenge shit you have to do this year
I work at Best Buy but as loss prevention. Shit's so cash. I got a pair of Sony MDRZ7's for $210.
Discounts are nice
They're just metal squares. Don't be an idiot about it.
Do you think your brain is worth less than $300?
you mormon, it has silicon inside the metal too
>quit job a month ago to move
>still validated for retail edge for the next two weeks
>just make the summer sale before I'm cast aside forever
truly blessed
Where is silicon on the periodic table?
Consoles have microprocessors in them too retard, but they don't cost 350 dollars+
Intels prices are a result of no competition.
>tfw
Yes but no competition means that you can put the price as high as you want.
Wiki can be edited
Sillycone is a metal, just look at dat dere image.
It's almost like more powerful microprocessors, which are more complex, and require more layers of material grown on them, with more complex lithography, cost more money.
How insane is that?
That's just a jewist conspiracy
No it doesn't. Intel is a business. They exist to make a profit for their shareholders. They have a natural upper limit given by the price point which gives the highest profits. If they set prices to $100,000,000,000,000 they would not make money.
literally retarded
I'm sorry you're poor, user
>b-but you get FREE games!
>it's worth it for the QUALITY of the services!!!
>Which are more complex
How does it being "more complex" make it cost more?
Everything from the i5 to the i7 cost about exactly the same to make. You really are stupid. Do you even know how microprocessors are made?
>letting the thread continue for this long
user are you the same autistic faggot that refused to play Dark Souls 3 because he occasionally had a 8 fps drop in a 60 fps game and then made a thread about?
Yeah you sound about as autistic.
>all this made up shit just to prove a point
It's a fucking tiny tin square for fucks sake.
are...are you single?
Go do the e learning Sony. BT headphones and BT speaker 50% off
>Everything from the i5 to the i7 cost about exactly the same to make. You really are stupid. Do you even know how microprocessors are made?
>cost exactly the same to make
>How does it being "more complex" make it cost more?
Maybe you should get an education and have a clue what you are talking about before calling people stupid on Sup Forums?
More complex = more transistors grown on each chip = more material used per wafer = more cycles of lithography/etching etc required per wafer = massive increase in costs and time per wafer
If they cost 'about exactly the same to make' only i7s would exist moron.
Get a clue in future before opening your mouth about something you have absolutely no clue about.
>a tiny metal square
What are how do compooter tho desu?
>people who have never used an i7
Seems like only limitation on how fast shit runs is how well its programmed to actually fully utilize my hardware
Shits fuckin magical
>$3000 for heavily pressurized carbon
I think you are legitimately retarded. Go actually look at the processor diagrams for the i5 and i7. The reason they exist in different spaces is literally because of R and D, not manufacturing. And even then, they only price the way they do because no competition.
Continue talking about something you don't even have the slightest inkling of a clue about moron.
But as a business with little to no competition they have no need to reduce cost on manufacturer.
>buying the CAS version when you could just hack the regular version to have it on it
Come on user step it up
>A common as fuck rock sells for $3000 dollars because some Jews strictly regulate the sales of diamonds to make them worth more
nothing beats the feeling of placing a multi-hundred dollar square into it's position on a motherboard
If all you do is play games there's no reason to get one over an i5 though.
>3000 dollars to give up your personal life and freedom and potentially lose even more
Every motherfucker I work with has been through at least one divorce. I'm convinced it's not worth it.
Their fault for being shitty people or marrying a shitty person. Can't blame marriage when it's 100% the person's fault.
>$300 just for the cpu
>nothing else included
PC Musterace L:OL
silicon isn't metal, faggot
small price to pay to be able to do stuff like watch netflix and play next gen games on ultra at 1080p 60fps at the same time
...
its worth it when you can play 2 games and watch anime all at the same time
Guess what FAGGOT, it costs over 1000 dollars for all the modern day consoles. Guess what? The PC is at the point where it can emulate EVERYTHING. Even PS4 and Xbone.
Get fucked console kiddie.
>"found"
You mean stole you nigger
After all the hype and shilling Pascal/Polaris end up being another incremental 5% performance improvement over previous GPU.
>buying a $300 CPU for video games
Literally nobody does this except retards. Non-retards who buy processors for that much are doing other things like rendering, compiling, cloud computing, or mining for bitcoins.
But if it has less distance to travel then it gets there sooner.
or they just have money and like running many programs and not having them ever go slow
can you upgrade it to iron?
>Not getting top of the line overclockable chip
>Not waiting for X99-Refresh and 6950X
>Using less than 3 GPUs and 2 NVMe SSDs
>Playing at less than 4K 120fps
>"gaming" on consoles
>nothing can go faster than light
>not knowing about tachyons
What do you actually expect out of asking this?
OH SHIT I'M FEELIN' IT

MDRZ7's are $699. That's how I got them for $210. With the Sony accommodation
just like diamond is a metal right
When I was a kid my mom let me have one of these from her work because it was broken and I pretended it was a gameboy because she couldn't afford to get me a real one.
Totally user. Now you can imagine not having me because there's no way in fuck anyone would randomly meet some loser over an image board.
You're a retard. The only reason the i7 processors are priced so high is because Intel operates in a virtual monopoly for those specific class of processors. It has nothing to do with manufacturing costs.
Source: I'm an auditor with Ernst and Young who regularly audits Intel's financial statements, inventories, factories, manufacturing plants, and corporate structure and governance.
it isn't worth it literally EVERYONE i work with has divorced at some point and lost money from it and i work with a lot of older people because the power engineering industry is almost exclusively 50+
im an auditor too and you're lying
During which stage of the audit fieldwork should a controls risk assessment be performed according to the COSO framework?
Guaranteed no replies.
>$120
Bullshit
first, you dingus
You tell me, Im the real auditor
The stage where I bang ur mom, you fuking noob
wrong
nice try, cuck
I'm not a particular fan of smartphones, but it is nice to just have an app as a replacement for this.

What can I say, Americans aren't good at rational thinking and decision making.
>wrong
Sure, whatever you say. You clearly don't know what you're talking about
This.
If PS4 lasts 7 years like PS2 and PS3 did, then you're looking at $350
That's more than I could sell my PS4 for. Multiplayer costs more than the system itself.
Rent seeking requires political power, not just lack of competition
>been waiting on a specific cpu cooler to come in stock on local online store
>been out of stock for weeks
>bite the bullet and order my 2nd choice
>one day later and the 1st choice comes back in stock
you cheeky cunts
So return it. One day is soon enough to cancel a shipped order at no cost depending on who you got it from
