Yooka-Laylee

> Andy Robinson is like "Fuck yeah we are going to be at E3 and showing the game off with a release date, will be what we originally said."
> They said the "recent silence will pay off VERY soon"
> Literally everyone on the team is suuuuper passionate
> I keep forgetting it's Kickstarter because it's actually getting fucking finished within the time crunch they promised
Considering they are old core Rareware, it's no doubt they can get a game done fast.

Anyone else hype?

Need to see more of the game.
It looks good from images and music samples, but I need MORE

SOON.

Could care less if this is the best revival of the 3D Platformer genre or a painful reminder why it never worked.

I only backed this for based Kirkhope and Wise teaming up to make beautiful music.

>Could care less
I hope for all intensive purposes you are not a native english speaker

>Didnt even reply to the post
You tried 2/10

Now stay on topic.

I'm excited

I am.
However, I'm still concerned about level design.

>intensive purposes
you mean 'intents and purposes' user

user what are you doing?

moar or source don't leave me begging baby

Sssonic, family unit

ridiculously hyped. Even if the game is mediocre, the music and charm should be worth it. It's sad this is the last wii u game worth caring about all year.

Needs some tiddies tho

WHERE IS THE TOYBOX PLAYTONIC YOU SAID THERE WAS GOING TO BE TOYBOX

>bats
>titties
no

Looking forward to get a colorful 3D platformer to PC, best we got so far is dark souls and that's stretching the term.

you can emulate bubsy 3d :^)

I hope it's good.

Then again, compared to Mighty No 9 it'll be a masterpiece.

apparently it was going to work through embedding in web browsers, but most web browsers don't support that any more so it got delayed.

Just watch the gameplay trailers and you'll get the gist. I hope we don't have to wait until e3 to get more info

Mighty No 9 Delays

>DS
>platformer
>colorful
yeah that's not even stretching it anymore, what made you even think of dark souls of all things

DK64/BJK long time fan here. game should be good i hope... pls ;-;

chameleon or iguana?

is it girl or boy? seriously..

He's a chameleon but with face frills.

Iguanas have chin-balls.

Well. Seeing how shit the game look it's no surprise.

I'm not at all hyped.

I saw who the 'Rare core' when the project first started and didn't feel like they could deliver. If they do deliver I'll be mildly pleased.

How?

It is /literally/ the original BK/DKC team.

being able to blend into the environment? dont let me down FUCK

> Intensive purposes
> Intensive

>Stealth moments

This will either go mildly well or HORRIBLY WRONG.

its a platformer before anything else. doubt tareware could implement stealth optionals into their "best game yet"

>Unity engine
I get why they did it but fuck

Scaler did it well, and that was from a mildly competent team.

>Donate a little extra to get the "exclusive" physical copy
>Team 17 later announce they're publishing physical copies anyway
welp

>Yooka-Laylee
>7 people
>the original BK/DKC team
So during the DKC credits there is like 24 people.

Oh shit, someone else played Scaler?

ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT ABORT

I'm excited, and I am glad that they haven't gone and shown it all off during these past few months. I want to go into this game like I went into Banjo-Kazooie; not knowing what's next. Rare used to be super secretive about what they were working on in the 90s, so it's good to see that this hasn't changed. It adds a little bit of magic to when it finally will be shown. Not to mention that the first Yooka-Laylee video shown was with only 2 months of development by a skeleton team pre-Kickstarter. I can't imagine what it must be like now.

They hired some more people and they said they were happy with the size, as it's similar in size to the BK n64 team. So I don't know how many people were in what teams, but a smaller team seems like it's what they need to have to bring a series back

Come again?

Rouge is just a brown girl wearing a mascot head.

>They hired some more people and they said they were happy with the size, as it's similar in size to the BK n64 team.
I was just going by the list of people on the KS page which I originally said is what spawned my scepticism.

>but a smaller team seems like it's what they need to have to bring a series back
I wouldn't get my hopes up. The real question is whether people WANT what is basically another Banjo and Kazooie beyond nostalgia.

Also keep in mind that was around 20 years ago, and the people working on it now have been thinking about this for years, aren't working with cartridges, and are far faster and more capable with the technology they currently possess.

>Tfw backed this instead of Mighty No9

Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World are made in Unity, the only true downsides of Unity are apparent when you make something that looks better than those games.

Give it a few years and Scaler will be mainstream on Sup Forums.

I did. It was mint.

if this and Blackroom fail I'll never trust a kickstarter again

So?

>Intensive purposes

Fucking kek. You can't make this shit up. Its a doggy dog world out there, user. Fucking proofread before you post.

Don't be rediculous.

People like you are really a diamond dozen

Honestly I like the game unspoilered as much as possible. When i'm getting a game I want to be treated like a fucking 8 year old on a Christmas morning, surprise me.

Are you just being ironic or are you actually this autistic?

Raptor get out

Does the art still look like shit? A Hat in Time looked better than Yooka Laylee during Yooka Laylee's kickstarter.

For Kickstarter games, it is usually different because they want to know everything about the game because they feel entitled to since they gave them money to make it. It is hard to have a secretive games when crowd funding.

Is everyone still bitching about the character designs?

Be careful with the laughing, user
You're gonna choke and somebody might have to give you the Hindenburg maneuver

what are you going on about

this looks shit, am i 5 years old, wtf is this shit?

hipsters literally cant let go off the past and trying to nostalgia their way back

>2016
>playing platformers

Literally any other genre is better than this autistic kiddie garbage.

>People who like some of the most popular Nintendo games (Nintendo being one of the big three) are now hipsters

That word really doesn't mean anything any more does it?

he means he misspelled it intentionally as part of a joke

Not drawn by Raptor, you idiot. Go back to /vp/

They already had funding and a publisher for the game before the KS. The KS was for additional features and to gauge interest. and They didn't know it would be so successful. They were always going to keep development secretive even if they hit the goal.

That's the spirit

what happened?

It got lost in time.

>SJWs releasing anything that was payed for through crowd funding

I like how confident they sounded in the interview, like this was just ordinary shit for them. Nearly their entire team is industry veterans of 10-20 years or more and they're all doing the shit they know like the back of their hand.

Go look up Gurumin: A monstrous adventure.

Is that part of Sup Forums memeshit dead already? The days move fast user.

They're too lazy to update their website, let alone develop the game.

>SJW

huh?

I keep seeing this and reading this as "I hate anime"

That's cool and all but now that I'm spending my own money to buy games rather than renting shit from Blockbuster on my parents' dime I'd like to know what I'm getting into, generally speaking

>what is sonic generations and lost world

I'm confused to what your replying too.

Slag happened
You tool

bats r mammals tho

I love Yookas feet!

You don't have to be such a pre-madonna

>Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World are made in Unity
wait wait wait, source?

I know this is bait but this shit pisses me off so much. I have literally zero taller ants for these fucking stupid misspellings.

my boys, i thought i was the only person in the world who played this

I'll never get the word "Chimerum" out of my head

You know what? At least I can appreciate what you're doing. I see the humor, and it works. Fuck these people.

>implying Blackroom even gets funded

Amateurs with almost no experience in a professional game company happened. Leave the 3D platformer revival to the pros.

>mfw this is the first game I ever backed
>mfw I probably won't regret it a bit
Feels good to be honest.

the lizard needs clothing

This. Or at least accessories. It looks too bland.

Same man, although I only donated enough to get a Digital Wii U version of the game.

I could care less too, I'm really excited for this game but I love collectathons, DK 64 is one of my favourite games ever made I do an annual 101% playthrough.
