Not even trolling, has nintendo lost it?

not even trolling, has nintendo lost it?

I don't have the same faith in this company I once had, this past year has been eye opening for me. The polish is gone, the understanding of their core fanbase is gone.

What is there to even look forward to? The next console? And just cross our fingers and hope for the best?

They're out of touch, user. It's their own fault.

I'd like to think they're saving the good shit for NX at this point, but I'm afraid there isn't even that anymore

>IGN
>taking them seriously

shiggydiggy don't

Its still the same, but they are not paying people for reviews
They have been firing pedos and pedolovers so......

Sure they are not the same but that reviews show nothing. I love the Starfox game, Smash and Mario Kart more than all the previous games of those franchises.

Still sad about Metroid because Nintendoland showed how much you can do with the fucking tablet

Most aren't from IGN, though.

The others I totally understand, but SFZero is just the reviewers being complete shit at the game. I'm having a blast.

Nintendo should go 3rd party.

>not even trolling

Their core base doesn't deserve understanding. Just let them fucking leave.

>Amiibo Festival
>No multiplayer support

What the fuck?

I love how we're expecting to take game journos seriously.

Kinda, yeah. Their games feel really basic with a shit ton of wasted potential. As edgy as it sounds, though, it will get better once Miyamoto dies.

>As edgy as it sounds, though, it will get better once Miyamoto dies.
You could have just said "steps down" or "is no longer at the company"

>I don't have the same faith in this company I once had

That's because you grew up and out of Nintendo's target demographic. Growing up is a part of life.

Nintendo is rich enough and has the experience to make quality games, they fucking know how to do it but they choose not to and instead continuously make decisions that seem to become worse and worse as days go by.

This is the one thing that infuriates me as a Nintendo fan, because of how easy a lot of these things are fixable but they just don't do it. WHY?? Just fucking why. I don't get it or understand them anymore.

It hurts so much.

God damn I was so satisfied with my WiiU purchase in 2014 that its ridiculous to think this is the same console. the '15 lineup had a few nice games but '16 has been so awful its obvious as fuck they're saving every decent game for the NX.

>not even trolling

Thank god I got the Wii U late. I'm too busy catching up to earlier titles while playing the only two recent online games. Might as well get the most our of Splatoon and Mario Maker before the servers get axed.

A lot of what happened in 2015 was basically from two issues that arose.
1) Nintendo had a lot of their dev staff on NX projects, which means smaller dev teams for current projects.
2) A lot of those current projects were rushed to be released so as to minimize gaps in software releases.

Basically Nintendo came to a wall in 2015. They couldn't release any big-budget games in a timely manner except Xenoblade X (because it was already done by then), so had to fill in the gaps with simpler titles that a smaller dev team could pump out in a year.

It's a shame but I think it was a hard lesson they learned about trying to make it work going alone in modern video gaming.

You'd hope so, but I feel like Nintendo never learns a damn thing. We've seen the beginning of utterly cancerous DLC practices and they're still carrying around the baggage of their amiibos.

iwata was just the beginnin

Iwata dying changed everything. He was the floodgate protecting the land. The dam that was soon to break. It happened. The good people drowned.

That was them learning things. Maybe not the things some would LIKE them to learn, but they learned it anyway.

Gimmicks.
Nintendo (especially Miyamoto) just fucking adore gimmicks. Ever since the Wii and DS sold like hotcakes, they've been trying to get lightning to strike twice.
Iwata's death helped because it meant Miyamoto was able to have more control, which means more gimmicks.

All Nintendo is capable of doing is making the same games they made twenty years ago. They posses no innovation or style, just rehashes. Their games are usually technically good, but journos don't want games, they want movies. And they want movies that push technical boundaries.

They lost it during the WII/DS era. they used to make unparalleled gold. Now it's just solid or mediocre games. I'm not really excited for the next nintendo game anymore.

The 80's were almost 40 years ago. How does that statement make you feel?

For the life of me I wish grown ups that still play would realize this. Gaming just isn't as good as a grown up. It's a time waster not actual adult fun. You're too mature now not to over analyze everything and it kills some of the fun, makes most games predictable, and shits up comment sections.

It's because the core fanbase left and all they can hope to do is get little kids to play their games by making them easier or for girls but kids would rather play shitty iPhone games and Minecraft or whatever else the YouTube faggots make videos of themselves screaming to

...

Why only put Metacritic for the good games but single out scores for the others?

...

honestly if nintendo went 3rd party, the world would be a better place

imagine nintendo games on pc outside of emulation

>SteelDiver

What was wrong with it?

Motion controls should have never existed

...

I'm legitimately afraid nx is going to fail and nintendo is going to move to mostly mobile or something.

I don't want it to happen, because it feels like nintendo is the last major company that makes the kinds of games that I like, without having to wade through tons of indie shit on steam. But it might just be better if nintendo took a huge hit. they would either evaluate themselves or be better off dead with mobile.

>blast
Is that how you spell buyer remorse ?

Under 80 Metacritic

Nintendo has been shit for nearly 10 years now.

>not even trolling
>shittalking nintendo
Ok

It's definitely a make or break moment for Nintendo, I think the quality of Zelda U and the NX will decide if Nintendo can become relevant again or if they'll just become like Sonic the Hedgehog: an icon more that represents something it no longer is. A subject for keychains, tshirts and apps that bank on nostalgia and nothing more.
Nintendo needs fresh ideas and fresh blood, that much is certain. Splatoon was promising. It didn't sell like gangbusters, but it sold well enough and more importantly: was a new ip by young developers, and most importantly, a good game that resonated with people. Nintendo needs more of that, and less of trying to shoe horn their gimmicks into existing franchises they don't belong in.

>Mario tennis
>Zelda Dynasty Warriors
>Pokemon Spinoff AB6
>Federation fucking Force

Jesus christ OP, if this fruit was hanging any lower it would be underground. Nintendo always has its share of stinkers, in fact I'd say everything outside their main franchise line is probably garbage. It's like this on every console, and aside from Starfox, none of these are surprising or a "tragedy" of any kind. Still sucks about Starfox though.

>i'm an 80IQ retard who doesn't understand a think about game design

The games really are worse. Just like when the old man says "this generation sucks" He's right. They all are, it gets worse every time.

I'm seeing 3 userscores (ones that matter) over 8.0

I'd rather they just crash along with others

I saw Dead Island and Batman Arkham collections are being released on the PS4/XBONE. Fuck this generation.

Nintendo has gotten away with releasing the same shit for years, and people eat it the fuck up. People buy these shitty games.

They're going to keep doing the same shit until it doesn't work anymore. Look at how long Sega has persisted in making shitty Sonic games. Their autistic fanbase eats it up no matter how bad it is.

I'm not certain they could survive as a 3rd party company. All their games rely on some form of console gimmick, be it the wiimote, the touchscreen, tilting, dual screen, etc. If they didn't have that to rely on, then all they'd be left with are games that could come from any other studio in the world.

Kirby games? They'd be just like the games made 15+ years ago. Mario? Just like the games they made 15+ years ago. Zelda? Ditto. Metroid? Ditto. Mario Kart? Ditto.

The only Nintendo properties that can stand on their own merits as an advancement to what had come before are those made by outside developers, like Square, Retro, etc.

Maybe it would matter if they were professionals.

You know people post 0s and 10s on every game

>Disney
>Fantasy Life
>Layton VS Wright
>First party

>Dream Team not included

Into the trash.

Completely unbiased version of all titles released in 2015. The good, the bad, the godawful.

Save this one if you absolutely must shitpost.

>the highest rated game isn't even developed by them
>neither is the second highest

HOLY FUCKING KEK

...

To be fair the only real note worthy issue is Starfox Zero since unlike the other games in that pic isn't just just a spinoff but a proper game.

Fire Emblem Fates generally got good reviews and Kirby planet robobot will get good reviews like Triple deluxe.

Color Splash and Federation force on the other hand I have no clue what they will get.

I know for a fact that Mario Golf and PLvs PW are way underrated if those the shit averages.
>put 100 hours into mario galf 3ds
shit is seriously a 8.7/10

Sony and MicroSoft are no better.

How many R&Cs, Halos, Killzones, Uncharteds, and just collections have been released last gen and this gen?

Because poorly made, hollow games still have a demographic that will buy it.
And at the end of the day, money is money.

If you had said that during the Wii years, I'd have called you mad and said it was a fun experiment.
Stylus-driven LoZ and Starfox Command onward, including SMG2 and THAT GODDAMNED FLUZZARD, I would completely and utterly agree.

Nintendo came to America 31 years ago.

Read what *First Party is

Idiots with no understanding of nuance. Nintendo stuff was never the same, save some recent crap like new super mario bros. Regardless the quality has fallen.

Yeah, I think it is one of my most played games. I don't even have DLC. Do they still have weekly online tournaments?

Nintendo turned to hot shit. They'll survive for a LONG time, but it will just be them tossing out shit cause they feel like it instead of them making anything decent.

>75-89 "great" and not okay
> 60-74 "good" and not mediocre shovelware that isn't worth your time
> bad games even been worth including when even the tier above isn't worth playing

low standards the post.

Idiots with no understanding that "nuance" was just gimmick.

>Rodea

Is that really a fair inclusion considering the history behind it and the fact the Wii version is the intended version to play?

How come video game score standards are different than other categories on the website?

Wasn't Devil's Third blasted by game journalists/critics because of some progressive nonsense?

Or am I thinking of another game?

It seems like it's mostly been this last ~12 months that they really dropped the ball. Nintendo used to be the company I could rely on to at least give me a decent experience, but now I'm not so sure. I do have high hopes for Zelda though. It seems like they're really confident that this game is going to be fantastic, and I'm almost willing to bet borderline revolutionary. This generation's OoT.

because they are for babies and no one takes them seriously.

>89/100
>it's okay

up until the wii they managed to make every new mario, zelda, etc fresh and intertesting

but they fucked up mario by making it super generic with the 3D* games and dumbing down the RPGs

I have hopes for Zelda NX, since ALBW was good but its likely completely different devs

their first party titles have been so hit and miss since the end of the wii, compared to the SNES/N64/GC where they were all gr8

Why the FUCK is this allowed, bros?

It was supposed to be Nintys generation...

Your pic is shit and old.
Plus WiiU do not have any multiplatfrom games at all.

They've dropped the ball for the last decade.

It just seems weird that a 74 or lower is considered Mixed, but Mixed is 59 and under for things like music

Except they haven't.

I assume so I havent played it about a year. The DLC courses are pretty great, would recommend.

My only issue with the online tourneys is you should only get one chance to play the tournament. Not this try 50 times until you know the perfect shot to make for the conditions on every hole... and some asshole has -25

Yup. Of course there are obscure good games reviews score wrong, or are held back by minor performance issues, but big nintendo games should be scoring 95 and above every time.

game reviewers have inflated scores

a 5 should be the default score but a lot of game journos seem to default to 6 or 7

Dude, that's the classic standard of game ranking. Well, that as the School Grading System.

100% = As Perfect as it can get!!!
90% - 99% = Fantastic!! A Must Play!!
75% - 89% = Great, well above average!
60% - 74% = Good, not great, but good.
50% - 59% = Totally mediocre, but playable, no bugs/etc...
1% - 49% = Various levels of absolute suck; being bad design, game-crashing bugs, just not fun, etc.
0% = Cosmic Race.

>review scores
Stop doing this

They never had it.

>big nintendo games should be scoring 95 and above every time.

you could just try enjoying videogames.

>Summary
>Pokemon Mystery Dungeon TM Pokemon Dungeon TM Pokemon Mystery Pokemon
Wow.

>Plus WiiU do not have any multiplatfrom games at all

Well I really don't care about CoD or asscreed, so that isn't a big problem.

They have for anyone with standards. They used to make miracles, now they make solid or mediocre games. They have lost that aura. Capcom was similar in this regard but fell even harder.

>game is shit
>shit fanboys will eat anything

Yep, that seems right.

Devil's Third is just a generally awful game that Wii U defenders finally disowned when the PC port was announced.

Devil's Third, Senran Kagura (especially the 3DS games), anything that could be considered "mature" in a baby Nintendo system.

Nintendo fans and the "press" can't handle anything but 'gah gah goo' games on Nintendo systems.

> up until the wii they managed to make every new mario, zelda, etc fresh and intertesting

Arguable, mario sunshine was fresh but the "interesting" part gets old really quick unlike the galaxy games.

Wind Waker was fresh and interesting but Twilight Princess was not fresh and only got interesting around the second half of the game.

And like the schools we experience massive mark inflation and lower standards.

What a nice bunch of shitty Nintendo games noboby fucking cares about.

Who cares, if it sells great, it's good

Blame Metacritic. Before it, 5 was "Average" in almost every gaming magazine and gaming review website.

After Metacritic, where they decided that anything less than 7.5/75 was "ass", 7 became Average-At-Best.

Well arent you proper bootyblasted that you only have THREE games?

Better to be a man dissatisfied than a pig satisfied.
