Sequel claims to have improved certain aspects of gameplay

>Sequel claims to have improved certain aspects of gameplay
>It actually made them worse
What games did this?

Dark Souls 2

Dark souls 2

SPHERICAL!

LuigiĀ“s mansion dark anus.

>Hey guys! All weapons use 'Thermal Clips' now!

Shank 2. First one was simple and fun, second just made everything "bigger" and retarded but claimed that it's improved

Mass Effect 2

Lords of Shadow 2
Clear Sky
Killing Floor 2
Serious Sam 2
XCOM 2

Not a sequel, but the PC/next gen version of GTA 5 claimed it would have improved car deformation physics but it was actually worse than the original since they removed all deformation on the roof and sides of the car so that it wouldn't clip through the player when they were in 1st person.

>In the 2 years you were dead the entire galaxy made the switch to this potentially worse munition system in absolute totality
>Everyone on this ship that crashed a decade before this technology was invented also has it

Hivemind

does removing body awareness in left 4 dead 2 count?

Fallout

Mass Effect 2
Borderlands 2
Fallout 2

No, only changes that were supposed to be improvements, but had a negative effect

Every Halo game.

No. Adrenaline and defib do.

Look at anything Bethesda has released in the past decade+.

To be fair, removing weapon durability was an improvement.

Shadow Hearts 3 is a mixed beast for me.

...

>GBC Zelda games plagued by the low amount of buttons
>Had to constantly go back to your menu to change items, one of which would usually be your sword
>Finally they make a handheld Zelda on the GBA, with a much more reasonable amount of buttons

>Select is now "ask partner for help" instead of a map shortcut
>L is a dedicated "fuse kinstones" button instead of anything remotely useful
>Somehow made a worse control scheme with more buttons

Age of Empires III.

AOE was great. AOE II was just magnificent. AOE III took dat magic and shat all over it. Not even a *bad* game, just so, so much worse than its predecessors. The balance was gone, the comfy building and exploring was so much less enjoyable, and in my opinion the whole thing just really didn't work.

Fuck AOE III.

Any sequel made in the last 10 years.

I'll never forgive the franchise for letting everyone get spells from the same spell table. Everyone having their own unique spellist with its own quirks in 1 made the characters feel more distinct. everyone using the same ars goetia casting theme undermined the rich flavor the first game had.

The major issue with KF2 is the lack of content. You cannot release a slow trickle of content for a multiplayer game, if the player base dies then your sales die.

I honestly just preferred reloading.

The real issue with ME2 was how all weapons are just pick ups you get from the normal story line, that and armor pieces are fairly rare.
