I can get that. I myself was just focused on tidus, yuna and wakka. Lulu is a cunt, kimahri contributes nothing, rikku is hit or miss, auron is too tryhard stoic. I felt they were all well written characters though, in the aspect that very little interaction felt out of place.

I was trying to make the point that XII is mostly failed potential. Some of it was captured with IZJS but honestly it was still kind of mediocre most of the time. If Annex existed it'd probably be at the top of the list but we all know that'll never happen

Square was running their own company into the ground. Enix did jack shit to Square. When they merged, even though Enix was the supposedly surviving company in the merger, Square made up 80% of the company, and even had their President take over as the President of Squenix. Square pretty much got all the power, which is why the successful Enix became the ailing Squenix.

If soulless grinding without much of any story is the mark of a good game for you, boy I've got a recommendation for you.
