As terrible as Mass Effect's setting, science, tech aesthetics, characterization, and lore all are... I still just want to explore space.

The magic is over. I don't care about Mass Effect anymore, and even though I loved the first 2 and played them both multiple times, I'm still salty and the whole franchise left a bad taste in my mouth.

After Mass Effect 3, it's impossible for me to be hyped about anything regarding mass effect, what made the games good to me was the story, universe and lore, not the generic third person shooting. And Mass Effect 3 made sure to take a huge shit on all that, so no, i am not hype.

Yeah I'm still hyped. I love scifi games and scifi games who aren't fucking rts/space sim or 4x are fucking rare.

I'm excited but I'm holding it in to see how it fairs. If it's as bad ass Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition and or all the characters have Mom/Dad Issues I'm probably not gonna buy it full price and just wait for a used copy or rent it.

On one hand, if it's ME I'm going to play it no matter how shit might be.
On the other hand shit went full retard story-wise on ME3. The only way to set it right would be to declare ME3 non-canon and fix shit up.

If Dragon Age is any indicator, they'll learn from the biggest mistakes of the last game and in spite of making some old mistakes and a couple of new ones, it'll at least be a substantially better game.

Although to be honest, DA2's characters were better than the ones in DAI overall, and that sucks. My summation, give it a week or two before buying it if the reviews have sold you on it.

I agree with all your points and its bullshit to be tied to a particular distribution software but Origin isn't as bad as it was in its first year of launch. It's less invasive than Steam is these days and is less of a resource hog.

They have gone on record to say that they don't want ME:A to have any DIRECT relations with ME:3 to the point of not even acknowledging it to varying degrees. It's still in the same "world/universe" but they wanted to put the new story in an entirely different universe, far away that wouldn't be effected by the implications of the last DLC of ME3 talking about an even darker ANCIENT EVIL that the Reapers were trying to prevent and "protect" the universe in their own twisted ways.

Now I'm not sure if it was a accidental leak from the Survey/Developer or a implication/theory made by the fans but it's suggested that this Ark everyone is on was set off to Andromedia before the final confirmation of the Reapers as a fail safe if the races in the Sol System dun goofed.

It seems like a lot of what's been holding it back has been the staff being replaced. If not for that, we probably would have it out in the next month, for better or for worse.

Well I enjoyed ME1 and 2. Even ME3 had its moments. But that ending was indeed pants on head retarded. Also DA:I was probably the most boring game I have played in years. If ME:A is anything like Inquisition, gonna skip it.

The last EA game I spent money on was Mass Effect 2 and in the six years I've gone without supporting them the better my experiences have been within the realm of video games. Fuck EA with a rake. Sideways. For Westwood, for all the other companies they've destroyed and left broken along their quest for more money to pander to the lowest common denominator. Any time you feel like you want to buy an EA game remember what they did to Spore. What they did to C&C. What they did to so many other series and developers over the years.

Bioware is dead. They are a shitty company that makes shit games. Deal with it.

EA, Ubisoft, Activision- haven't bought anything from them in years and nothing of value was lost.
