What version of Doom is best, Sup Forums? I had the SNES version as a kid but all I can distinctively remember was it having shit-tier graphics.

Hey, Doom is the one game that made PC a legit platform for vidya back then.

Anyway, PSX is the best console version, most levels, different soundtrack. It's still missing some shit, and runs worse than the original PC game.

You're better off with Doom 64 if you want console Doom.

Not sure what version steam has running. Probably original played through dosbox. You might have some sound and resolution issues. If you want to play Doom on modern machines then I would recommend Chocolate.

You could say that for all the ports that were based off the Jaguar version.
If anything, the PSX version has all of those, and even includes Thy Flesh Consumed AND Doom II AND PS-exclusive levels as well.

SNES Doom was pretty sweet considering it what system it was on. The song "Demons from Adrian's Pen" is spookier
PS1 Doom is spooky and that's neat, but not all monster types were allowed to be in the same level so levels that had a bunch of different monsters had to improvise and used only like 3-4 unique monsters in the entire level.
Jaguar Doom is silent, but acceptable in the end
GBA Doom was alright
GBA Doom II is pretty cool
3DO was ass altogether with so much missing
32X was the SNES version if it sold its soul for a better resolution.

All the source ports have mouse aim. Even the original supported mouse. Most people played it keyboard only at first.
