Demon's Souls

>Demon's Souls
>poster armor is available from the start of the game if you pick the class it corresponds to

>Dark Souls
>Poster Armor isnt available from the start of the game, you have to go through at least 3-4 areas to reach it, you can find it on a corpse and you generally can still get it fairly early on

>Dark Souls 2
>Poster armor is on a corpse in the final area of the game, you have to go almost 3/4ths through the game to get it

>Dark Souls 3
>You literally have to beat the final boss to get the poster armor

Im noticing a pattern here and what the fuck is up with it

>Bloodborne
>Can't even tell when you get the poster armor because half of them look the same

Bloodborne actually gives you the poster armor in the very first stage of the game and its also not a souls game so i didnt include it

i get the feeling that bamco chooses the poster armor and makes the intro cinematics and shit around them. DaS2 was clearly supposed to have Alva as the poster armor, and the Knight set was featured heavily in DaS3's promo material.

Dark souls 4
>Poster armor belongs to final boss; you don't get to wear it.

you can go get the elite knight set right at the start of dark souls. People just usually do undead burg and parish first

If I recall the Armored Core covers closely follow this trend as well.

Dark Souls 5
>series turns into a cinematic story driven game and the poster armor is on one minor character soldier who dies in the opening cutscene, never seen in game at all.

thats true if you have the master key you can go through Havel first technically

>drangleic castle is the end of the game
Are you retarded? And no back pedaling saying well the final boss is under the castle, that's a different zone

Dark Souls 6
>series is used to market subway commercials

Special "sandwich armor" with any 6 inch (?)

>waaah, I can't roleplay as the guy on the cover until I actually beat the game

Cry about it.

>BB isn't a souls game
Stop this meme. If it was called blood souls you ultrafags wouldn't try to split it like you do now

well yeah. because it would have souls in the title

thats the point

the Dark Souls series was the replacement for Demon's Souls since Sony owned it. Bloodborne was an experiment in trying something different with the formula and has nothing to do with the series started with DeS

>i-if it had Souls in the title, you wouldn't say it's not a Souls game!

No fucking shit.

>DS2
Dragleic is half point of game, like Anor Lando. And if we want to be technical, the rusty armor with red cloth was supposed to be the poster armor, and you can get that by spending some souls at the merchant at the very begging.

But otherwise yes it's a pattern. Flute armor best armor.

The Elite Knight armor looks fantastic in DS2, so I just wear it and consider the poster armor to be a late-game upgrade like the Mark II power armor was in Fallout 2.

Yea it's not

>Bloodborne
>has nothing to do with the series started with DeS

Wow are you retarded or what

Different name, different theme, different mechanics, different IP

Not the same series at all

>>Dark Souls 2
>>Poster armor is on a corpse in the final area of the game, you have to go almost 3/4ths through the game to get it

That pissed me off so much because I really liked how that set looked.

dont want to derail the thread or anything but anyone got souls reaction images?

Roll roll attack

DaS1 has references to Des even. BloodBorne isn't a souls game user. It is made by the same dev though so you can be kinda right in your head.

here

it's ok though because the real game begins with ng+

for all the shit people give ds2, its ng+ is genuinely the one thing it really, really fucking does well over the other games.

Elite Knight will always be the GOAT.

...

...

I prefer regular knights
except the open helmet

...

...

Not that guy but bloodborne could be connected to the souls lore, shit men, you can even see patches and great memelight sword, could be just references but you can't say that it has nothing to do with souls games

>plays the same, looks the same, similar mechanics
>it's d-d-different I swers

Is Patches the Hyena present? You're playing a Souls game.

Also I feel the "Great Ones" and Lovecraftian influences have been present since Demon's Souls, and especially IN Demon's Souls.

Neither patches nor the moonlight sword are exclusive to the Souls series

Patches originated in Armored Core, he's a Miyazaki thing and not a Souls thing. They even put a different character(Pate, uses a greatshield and spear) with a similar name and concept in 2 as a homage since he wasn't director.

Obviously every Souls game is an Armored Core game and every Armored Core is a Souls game.
