I think the problem with the WII U is that it all comes back to third parties. They kept pushing for unique hardware to be different, but when it was time to make games, the developers didn't want to put up with their weird shit. So only Nintendo games are made for this thing and most people want more than that. Especially when they think just about every series they have should be casual, safe and shallow (Hi Metroid Fed. Force/Paper Mario.) It also doesn't help they're so concerned for their family friendly image they censor things even in M rated games. At least the 3DS is still good for now.

Nintendo isn't doomed, but holy shit they are out of the game. When a normie asks you if you play games, they'll say "Do you have an Xbox or Playstation?". That's how bad it is. It's up to them to figure out how they're going to get more and different games that people want to play instead of trying to hit some miracle surge of sales like wii sports gave them.
