Sphere grid is a pretty progression system and allows good variety in builds
Tidus is awesome and Wakka beats the shit out of everything with a blitzball

Linear gameplay is great, i don't have to waste time wandering from place to place.
Grid system allowed unique combinations for all your characters.
Tidus and wakka were sick af. blitz ball is still one of the better mini games from final fantasy

Are you actually this stupid? X's maps were stupidly linear and backtracking was only required for completionism, and the voice acting is absolutely terrible. Saying the VA in particular is justified due to the date of release is also really fucking stupid, there's no justification for that.

I'm guessing FFX was the first Final Fantasy for a lot of people here

Hope and Vanille were really the only hateble characters as Snow, Sahz, and Lightning got a lot of character development soon enough. Fang was static throughout. if you'd actually played the game instead of spouting memes, you'd know this

She was a likeable character both naive and selfless, but wise in her own way.

Also Aaron and Lulu's tits. Also graphical impressive for its day.

Story was linear, copied a lot of the bad romance of 8, started a lot of the poor trends in FF today, and had shit side quests and mini-games (yes blitzball was shit too).

But Yuna was really damn likeable. Not sorry I played it at all for that aspect, but X was okay not great. Honestly I really only thing 7 and before have a lot of merit. 8 started a lot of X's trends, but was more inventive, granted even worse paced. And 9 was just lacking in characters that were important.

I hated Yuna all throughout X, but found her slightly more likable in X-2, although still pretty cringy. I really can't see the appeal. She's just plain.

Lot of people are into the quiet type. But even then Aaron is there and he is cool. And Rikku even has her moments.

The basic idea of the story was good more so than parts of the journey which were pointless. I still do think it has 8's bad romance and pacing issues combined with 9s cast of characters that could be written out entirely. But it had its moments. God damn do I want another full of exploration and side events though.

It's not great but it's far from terrible

The characters in XIII would be way better if they went through some fucking development and wouldn't repeat that they have a problem for half of the game.
Take Hope for example. He just goes on and on about how Snow killed his mother and the confrontation between them was so fucking weak that all the times he mentioned her felt like a shitty joke.
Sazh also never managed to become more of a character than "that one old dude" which is pretty fucking dumb
