DS3 Lore and little prince

Continuing from yesterdays's thread
When the Witch of Izalith tried to replicate the First Flame with her own Lord Soul, she disruptef it and created the Chaos instead. When Oolacile people discovered Manus, a primeval human witha considerable part of the Dark Soul, they made torture experiments with him. They disrupted part of the Dark Soul and thus created the Abyss.

Chaos turned everyone into fire demons and abyss turned everyone into dark monsters. That is how it works.

It is stated in many item descrptions that humanity can be warm but bad at the same time. The Age of Dark is not intrinsically the Abyss itself.

I dont really get why people thinks linking the fire is right thing to do. Go watch the DSI intro again and Kaathe dialogue.

When the fire started to fade for the first time there was no Undead Curse. Gywn realized that the Dark Soul was getting powerful and feared that one day humans would annhilate gods just as gods did to the dragons. So Gwyn sacrified himself but he also linked humanity to the fire, so that humans would be branded and condenmed to fuel the age of fire forever.

It really has manay things in parallel with Berserk. And yes, Lothric realized this through his mentor and decided to let the fire fade.

Doesn't make Lothric any less of a pussy.

All Firekeepers are into anal. It's in the lore

Aldia fucking WHEN?

>listening to any jewserpent
You gotta be shitting me goy

What exactly makes somebody a lord of cinder? The Abyss Watchers, Yorm and maybe Ludleth linked the flame, but Aldritch and Lothric clearly didn't.

So what's the deal?

>Gywn realized that the Dark Soul was getting powerful and feared that one day humans would annhilate gods

Kaathe pls
Gwyn gave to 4 faggots part of his own Lord Soul. And New Londo was a prosperous city, until certain jewserpent taught humans to suck humanity.

He is boipussy after all.

Aldrich did.

I thought he was too busy being a gluttonous fuck to care about linking the flame

wait when the fuck did it say that humans CREATED THE ABYSS?

I think Pontiff and the rest of the church "made" him.

Age of Dark means people are hollow. Which means it's shit, as hollow people tend to turn into mindless zombies.

Age of Fire has at least some semblance of "normal" up until the fire fades and hollows come out.

This is totally neglecting Abyss and Chaos, which are man made shit shows in their respective Ages.

I just don't get why they get revived. Shouldn't they be a part of Soul of Cinder?

So would you sacrifice yourself for others to repeat the same cycle of shit?

Tongue but hole

Aldrich linked the flame, they made him do it

Because the fire was still strong at that point of time, and what kaathe says makes more sense that Frampts words

Its in the Oolacile item descriptions m8

I have the theory the become mindless if they are branded with the curse. The Dark Sign was casted upon mankind so that they would go in a cycle of Want everytime the flame fades, lusting for souls and power and brainwashed into linking the fire. The Dark Sign could be seen as many symbols, and serpent rings state that the serpent is the symbol of the Undead, greedy beings. It can also be seen as a flaming Ouroboros, which really fits this concept.

Frampt and Gwyn are responsible for all of this. So what if the true state of humanity is being hollows but not mindless hollows? Already said that there was no Undead curse when the fire was fading for the first time.

Yes, Abyss and Chaos are artifitial creations, not natural.

I want to see Farron himslef make an appearance in the DLC

I thought Farron was just the name of a place

>"Rise if you would..."

Text from the Sun Princess Ring

>Gwynevere left her home with a great many other deities, and became a wife and mother, raising several heavenly children.

She made it bros.

farron is the leader of abyss watcher, he have a daughter heysel which invade you in farron keep, i dont know if their leader name is Farron but the undead legion have a leader

what does linking the flame mean

thank god he looks like a man

>Farron, Captain of the Abyss Watchers
>theme is laced with heavy electric guitar
>uses a greatsword and slides and shit 1000% more cuhrazy than the other Abyss Watchers

fund it

>enter the fight
>farron smashes his dagger in the floor and mercilessly spins towards you
>beyblade theme starts

sounds like artorias

Daily reminder Alridch of the Deep
>May of been corrupted by the deep or corrupted it from his sheer cannibalism.
>Had a religious institution and giant cathedral dedicated to his nom noms.
>Had a fucking holocaust train made of carrige wagons going to his gullet
>Eat kids, adults and undeads of both varieties probably.
>Slowly eat his victims and luxuriated in their screams.
>He probably eat thousands, if not tens of thousands of people, maybe more.
>Actually blobbed out of his obese form from all the dark humanity he accumulated. He became a huge black blob
>Made, as in forced to be a lord of cinder because of the sheer amount of people he eat
>Could eat Gods
>Becomes lord of Cinder, goes on a rampage.
>Eat one God and noming on Dork Moon Prince/Princess in his worm form.

Fucking if didn't get corrupted by the deep, he most likely corrupted it considering it was once peaceful. I bet he filled it with horrors.

Holy fucking shit this guy makes some Berserk villians look tame.

If that's true then why don't we hear of her children?
You'd think they'd be important since they are gods.

Humans in Oracile discovered furtive pygmy's grave. They tortured him relentlessly, hurting him wasn't doing much but when they touched his amulet and broke it he chimpped out so badly his humanity grew out of control turning him into Manus and creating the Abyss.

Tips for starting as a sorcerer in ds3? How to focus on stats besides all int?
Thinking of rescuing greirat for the longsword, no real plans other than that.

dee el see

her children is lothric and lothric, its already stated she marry oceiros and she run after giving birth to oceiros

Of course.
How could I've forgotten

What happened in New Londo instead? How did the abyss took over?

gwynevere is the goddess of fertility and bounty

Why did she leave her younger brother?
Why did The Nameless King leave him too?
Fucking dragonfucker. Both did nothing while gwyndolin got devoured.
Gwyndolin did nothing wrong.

Nameless king/Faraam have been exiled by Gwyn, maybe thats why he leave gwynevere or gwyndolin, the entire family is fucked up

>Maintained a failing kingdom and kept a up an illusion that the sun was working, when it clearly wasn't
>He deceived humanity everywhere to keep the rule of the "gods" intact by hiding how much flame had died. He hid how serious the problem was.
>Dorkmoons hunters used to get invaders, aka dickwraiths. So he helped maintain Frampt and Kaathes shenanigans. Indirectly of course.
>Dorkmoons players are a terrible bunch of peolpe, and he helped enable these terrible people
>Spawned a horrible amount of weird porn and has a bunch of waifu/husbu fags. Though this isn't his fault.

He didn't do nothing wrong, but these are the only faults I can think of.

>forced to be a lord of cinder

how does this work

>Nameless king/Faraam
Why would you assume both are one and same? God of war title? Faram might be another god with same title.

None of those are really his fault though.
Everyone abandoned him and he was left to take care of things.

just a speculation , this is dark souls after all, its cryptic as shit

Pontiff Sully: ALRIGHT EVERYONE THE FIRES ARE DYING! GET A BUNCH OF SHOVELS AND WHEEL BARROWS! WE'LL JUST POUR ALDRITCH ONTO THE FIRE

Fire creates Shadows.
Linking the flame creates Undead.
Undead stifle Humanity.
Removing Undead by bringing an age of Dark is the right choice.

So how did Pontiff trap Gwyndolin in the first place? Through sheer force alone?

so lighting the flame in 3 isnt like in 1 where you have to prove yourself and go through trials n junk, you can just throw someone on it

You never actually did. I have no idea were this destiny shit came from.

DAS 2 establishes you either need to acquire a certain amount of of souls or some lord souls to actually be able to link the fire. Shrine of winter seems to act as safeguard agaisnt Ludleths/undeads who become unkindled. Doesn't matter who, they just need to meet those requirements.

Unkindled being entities too weak to make an actual age of fire. Hence unkindled.

Mizyaki said exactly what the unkindled were in a Taiwanese interview.

Aldritch eat enough people it's implied he had enough souls numerical to meet the requirements.

Why he didn`t the same thing with Lothric?

Because the blob is easier to handle. There is no brother guarding him either.

God knows how he got the religion of the deep to agree. Maybe Blobrich crawled to the first flame noming on entire villages as he went.

Smaller lore questions.

Is Fina dead?
What happened to Gotthard and who's the third black hand?
On the subject of trios, what about the third archdeacon?
Also some explanation behind Hawkwood, why did he seek do be a dragon?

I'd like to give you my little prince.

I don't think Pontiff and his blob could have gotten past all those Lothric knights and Lorian. I mean they were definitely trying, seeing as how Dancer is just waiting for Emma to die to try and bum rush the castle, Vordt is standing watch over the entrance from the undead settlement, and there's a lot of outrider knights already in Lothric.

He's already dead then. The whole legion was destroyed

Aren't the black hands the three hostile NPCs before the bridge to Lothric and Lorian?
Deacons: One is the mob boss, one is the husk for aldritch faithfuls, and one fucked off to Rosaria's Fingers (Klimt, I think?)

>There is no brother guarding him either

Well, at least Oceiros` children take care of each other, meanwhile Gwyndolin was abandoned by his slut-sister and FUCKING GOD OF WAR brother.

>>May of been corrupted by the deep or corrupted it from his sheer cannibalism.
Aldrich was a holy saint who was originally fighting The Deep, but he and his deacons became corrupted by it.

Nameless King could have probably Soloed Pontiff's army and Aldritch in his prime. Could you imagine the look on his face when he's about to enter Anor Londo's cathedral only to have half of his troops wiped out by a barrage of sunlight spears?

NK was kicked out the family well before the events of DS1. Hell he was kicked out well before the dragon war.

I wonder if Gwyndolin was even born then. Like seriously.

NK has just been moping with his dragons on a mountain.

Also Havel gets stuff from the great arch tree in DS1. I wonder if NK helped him in away. Like they both hated the Gwyn Dynasty.

Not lore related I know, but has from patched yhorm to be more aggressive? Seems a hell of a lot angrier in this playthrough

No, black hands are guys dual wielding things with the clothing. Gotthard helps in bosses then died in front of archives. I have no idea why and no one talks about it.

Kamui is one of the three dudes in archives with dual katanas.

No idea of the third and if there is even any. Which is why I asked.

Two of Gwyn's kids are named after him.
Why would his firstborn be called some random shit like Faraam?

Also, Nameless King's name was expunged from history, it's why he's nameless. Faraam has a name, so it can't be the Nameless King.

Nameless King didn't hate Gwyn. He also left after Gwyn linked the flame. Read the description for DS1 sunlight blade.

The events at Archdragon Peak happen in your meditative trance and may not be representative of the actual location, geographical or temporal.

His name was obviously Gwynson

It was probably actually Gwyn. He's the son of a king, so he's likely named after his father.

Some DLC ideas:

>Carthus of the Sands: Huge sand worms, a desert area with a pyramid/temple like layout
>Londor: area taking place in an abyssal plane, with corpses, shades everywhere
>the deep, abhorrent monsters, insects, all manner of shit, slime and water everywhere
>Forest area to the side of cathedral of the deep which includes some actual bestial type monsters

And finally an angelic setting, where you can finally face some gods or something, which ties in with the angelic theme that lothric had, maybe flame god flann or faraam could make an appearance.

Potential DLC Areas/Bosses/Characters:

>Flame God Flann
>Velka
>Faraam
>gertrude
>soulfeeder
>anything from dark souls 2 like aldia
>farron
>max power yhorm
>any big bad dragon boss
>allfather lloyd
>anything to do with the darklurker considering angels seem to be popular in lothric right now
>yhorm descendant
>snakes
>carmina
>ruined astora
>"eastern land"
>swordsman of the black blade
>saint klimt
>solaire
>caitha
>"mad god of war" possibly faraam or nameless king
>

The DLC probably won't be just some random mentioned area in the past. There's two of them, so there will likely be an overarching DLC plot.

>potential DLC bosses
>every single named character from the previous games
Stop.

What betrayal did the fire keepers eyes see? What does Ludleth know?

But the deep wasn't filled with horrors, Aldritch made horrors so you could argue he fucked up and accelerated the corrupting process.

It's 50/50 weather he corrupted it or it corrupted him in my view.

How does Lloyd fit into things?

Farron is just the name of the swamp, which is Oolacile, which is Darkroot.

DLC ought to have some remnant of Aldia-guided Curse Bearer, like a descendant, or group of like-minded individuals, who really are trying to get beyond fire and dark. A clan of bonfire exploding tree-people.

youtube.com/watch?v=_IyI5TLRNvw

Ocelotte?

Where did this whole firekeepers have to be blind even come from? This was never a thing before.

I want Priscilla or Quelaan in the DLC

roll roll attack

Robe worn by deacons of the Cathedral of the Deep, worn on the inside of the deep red robe.

In time, those dedicated to sealing away the horrors of the Deep succumbed to their very power. It seems that neither tending to the flame, nor the faith, could save them.

I want ecalipse apocalips area from screenshots before game relise, you know that one with giant worm in background

>ecalipse apocalips
holy fuck nigger

Ah right, Shame then really.

Aldritch being corrupted by evil and doing bad shit takes away his agency.

Whereas before it appears an entire fucking religion changed it's way enable him to keep eating people. It's truly sickening. This dampens it some what. Down to "THE SEA MADE HIM EAT PEOPLE,ALL THE PEOPLE"

>Horrors of man and organised religion damped by Evil sea.

God I hope this area wasn't cut.

He was probably a cannibal before he succumbed to the Deep. That sinful indulgence is probably what weakened his resolve and ability to fight the Deep.

I think it would be interesting if we got dlcs for each lord of cinder, maybe activating it when checking their cinders, explaining some of their backstory.

>>seeing yhorm in his prime using both stor rulers
>>some backstory for lothric
>>seeing Aldrich turning into that blob
>>follow The Abyss watchers fighting The Abyss
>>showing ludleth backstory

Ludleth is The most interesting for me, it feels like he is hiding a lot of things, that skull ring could be a tip showing that he isn't a good guy

What the fuck is even going on in that picture
>giant ichor worms everywhere
>Sun is melting? or good is going up to the sky
>A town is being cracked apart and swallowed by the earth.

I suspect this was actually the profaned capital but the engine couldn't handle it. I base this off the size of the city and the similar architecture. Also the intro implied Yhrom as being the big bad in the game by having him as the last guy introduced.

>Gwyn sacrified himself but he also linked humanity to the fire
Where do people get this shit?

Priscilla is either dead or gone and the painted world is no more. The only remnants of it are the bird priests you encounter in the road of sacrifices and elsewhere. They tell stories of the ancient times in the painted world.

Indeed I'm not sure what he's talking about. The fire didn't link humans to the bonfire, it created the undead curse and the dark sign as a means of counterbalancing a prolonged age of fire.

It's probably an early version of the kiln.

That or possibly some sort of vision of a carthus area.

>I want ecalipse apocalips

fucking what

Well those little dragon wyrms were originally in Lothric as well.
I don't know what to think, really. I don't think they're put that much effort into an area then completely cut it. Also, the Profaned Capital stopped burning long ago when Yhorm became a Lord of Cinder, so it wouldn't be in such catastrophe like in the pic.
I hope the DLC contains this area. Ludleth's story is almost certainly going to be elaborated on, so maybe this area is the end of his age of fire.

Also, I just noticed that the round staircase fountain in this pic is in Irithyll. The area where you encounter the first Fire Witch has the same design.

My bad, on that screenshot sun was just bleeding

>Implying he would use Storm Rulers
>Implying he wouldn't use his great fucking shield.

I WILL SMASH ARMIES APART!

What's the deal with the Grave of Artorias in Firelink?

I want a DLC where you find a fucked up/smashed painting and the Painted World is all fucked up. Maybe Priscilla let some people in out of kindness that she shouldn't have.

>You can encourage Aldrich to start eating people

gwyn junior?

Ludleth linked the fire before, but how did he survive and stayed sane?

>DaS1, you fought Gwyn for the bonfire.
>DaS3, you fought Soul of Cinder for the bonfire.

Did he just say "fuck it, fire's eating me away and I'm not interested in waiting for someone to kill me" and left the kiln? If yes, then why did he decide to help with the linking the fire again? Is he a closet masochist or something?

You mean Hawkwoods grave?

It's not his grave. There's a Sword of Artorias at the grave from the beginning, regardless of if you killed Hawkwood or not, and Ciaran's Ring can be found there in Dark Firelink.
