Now that you mention it, there's a lot of shit in this that's really reminiscent of that. The Curl Up move in one of the videos reminded me of Warioware 1. Plus the weird fascination with noses.

...what? No, of course not. You can look at the game, and see it's not regular. I'm saying that the level of creativity isn't there, because the dev(s) working on the game are uncultured. And they can't quite capture the abstractness, due to the fact that they're too familiar with the setting. Whereas a Japanese man creating a US setting, would have those abstract qualities only a foreigner unfamiliar with the culture would think about.

They would do better if they spent some time in Japan, and then attempted to make a Japanese setting. Then it would truly be unique. But they probably won't do that, because that would be considered "appropriating" culture today.

The thing with "tumblr nose" is that the artist is usually trying to make the character cute and they put a big red nose on there for no reason. But in this game characters are specifically meant to be ugly so I don't see it as a problem. It's like Lisa.

This is legit the first time I've seen people realize this on Sup Forums. This game is way more WW than EB yet that flew over most people's heads here. I really don't get how people didn't see that from the music or the art or the FUCKING MINIGAMES.
