What GPU to get, possible on a laptop?

What graphics card should I get?

Right now it's between a 970 and an r9 390.

Also, is it possible to use an external GPU on a laptop?

>laptop

I know, I know. Work with me here

970 of course

Nvidia is coming out with something new. Apparently stronger than 980 SLI and half the price

Would a laptop be able to take full advantage of it?

I read that - for a laptop - there's no point in going above a 960/r9 380

Just wait and get 1080m laptop

Console only pleblord here

need cheap capable gaming laptop
which brand should a budgetfag like meself go for ?

Just download more ram and you should be fine.

Get the nvidia if only because they run cooler.
Also some fags will get pedantic about the fact that its actually a 970m, they are indeed quite different. I've got a friend with a pretty powerful laptop that can handle doom4/fallout5/solid steak VI and its got a 970m in it and he's pretty happy with it.
When the thing gets cooking and the fans rev up it's louder than a puerto rican woman but it doesn't melt his lap. At least not as badly as an r9 would.

>use that $1500 burning a hole in your pocket

fregporster

ASUS/MSI will be your best bet bud

also sum1 pls

you're going to break your budget if you want something good. save up and get something worth having.

no, you can't use an external gpu on a laptop.
Like another user said, just wait for the 1080m in a laptop.

This, pleace see second line here -He's talking about a desktop video card that requires a mid-full atx case, because you omitted the letter M from your question.

And this guy knows whats up. If i were you I'd wit until the new 10series comes out and still buy that 970m-lappy right after the price bottoms out but before they're out of stock. You'll probably safe a few hundred bucks.

Is a 970m = a 970? It's not is it?

It's possible. But it doesn't work very well unless you have the External thingy that Gaylienware and MSi have now. Those are like 200 dollarydoos or something, card not included. And they don't work very well anyway.

And even then only certain models can do it, so expect to pay $1500 for an ebin gaymen laptop from MSi or Gaylienware.

If you found a way to connect one without that, you'll more than likely have power consumption issues.

You're a dumbass OP.
