Back in the day, Shiek was considered the best character in the game and Fox only became top tier years into the game's lifecycle.

Also, who the best character is really depends on which version you're talking about too.

Because in the PAL version, Marth is considered the best character in the game and the spacies are 2nd and 3rd respectfully.

The upcoming patch only tweaks Bayonetta, huh? I don't get why they'd announce a patch that fiddles with only one character, but NOT announce the 1.1.5 patch that tweaked a bunch. Hell I'd still like to see some of those characters that were tweaked in the last patch tweaked a little more, like Samus.

I mean considering Smash 4 is the way it is and won't be overhauled, Bayo needs to be tweaked. Ideally everyone would get buffed to hell and back but it's Sakurai and unless some magical being comes to him in his sleep and gives him a wet dream about something he doesn't do shit for anyone but himself.

ZSS and Bayonetta haven't given me much trouble. I can see why Bayo needs a nerf though because i imagine she can kill stupidly early off a platform. But really, she isn't that bad in FG at least.

Help me understand why people still play Melee, despite it being an unbalanced, broken mess.

The tight controls and faster gameplay.
Melee wouldn't be played so much today if Brawl and Sm4sh built on its mechanics while simply adding new characters and stages.

Too much time dedicated to playing it despite never even getting to the top 8 at any major tourney, they are afraid to move on to the better game as they will be shit at it and have to start all over again from the midpoint. They then claim it is easier, and they only don't win tourneys because "they don't feel like it".
