Zarya's actually pretty great in the right hands. I couldn't stand her at first, but once I got the shield mechanic, I went on a 8 game win streak.

One of the few times where it helps to have fucking idiots for teammates. Let the Lucio run into danger, pop a shield on him, and enjoy the instant boost to 50 charge.

Is great against a team that relies on AoE. Zenyatta is great at healing medium range too and isn't as useless during combat as Mercy, so a good Zenyatta can keep his distance and still do damage, while occasionally throwing the odd harmony orb to teammates.
I'd say in terms of healers who can do damage, he falls between Mercy, who has best heals, but lowest combat ability and Lucio who is the best at combat but the shittiest healer.


In short. Zenyatta is great. A (good) Reaper or McCree that has a Zenyatta on their side is god.

Bare in mind this tier list is for competitive 6vs6's. Plenty of characters are great for pubstomping but don't have much use in comp, and vice versa.

Zen is in a weird place that if he doesn't get counter-picked he is fucking bananas strong, but if they pick widow, tracer or hanzo he might as well not exist.

Discord is flat out OP, his damage is crazy good, his heal is very meh, his HP is garbage and his ult is the worst out of all the supports.

That being said he is easily my favorite character in the game, and I seriously hope they buff his HP before release. Even if they have to nerf his damage by a bit.
