What the hell is so bad about overwatch on console...

what the hell is so bad about overwatch on console? I don't have a good pc and don't want to spend a huge amount of money to build/buy one.

Nothing fuck the haters

full disclosure I have it on PC

Nothing really. Just bad performance and bad controls, but everyone else will have the same handicap so it will still be fair.

It's fine but personally I can't play FPS games with controller anymore.

I used to play some of the call of duty games on pc but the console versions always had significantly larger playerbases (like up to 10+ times larger)

Controllers are not as nice as kbm for shooters, but since everyone who you play with has the same problem it's still ok. Couldn't you use kbm pn ps4 though?

>FPS on a controller
There you go.

Nothing's wrong with enjoying an inferior product

If everyone you're playing against is using a controller, then it's not so bad.

Playing FPS games on PC with a controller is insane however.

Unlike most games it will last longer on PC and have a larger playerbase since most people getting it are Blizzdrones

>FPS on a console

the PS4 works with keyboard and mouse, that game Paragon allows it, not sure if Overwatch allows it

But yeah OP, the only real problem is the controller. Hell my console runs it better than my PC but I just can't stand not using keyboard and mouse.

You're fine playing it on console. But it will play a lot slower and more retarded. When I see overwatch console play it looks like a mech warrior game. When I played on PC its way the fuck twitchier and deadlier because of the higher precision.

>he hasn't seen people playing FPSes on PC with a racing game steering wheel

People blaming the control scheme just need a crutch to excuse how bad they are

Only thing wrong is feeling like you have to impress this shithole. Play what you want how you want. It's your money, stop trying to be in the secret club.

That's because Consoles are for children, and Call of Duty is for children.

>unlike most

Uhh what? Literally every PC game has a longer-lasting playerbase than console. Console kiddies will just drop overwatch and move on to the next shitty CoD clone shooter within a couple of months.

Since playerbases are up to 10-20 times larger, I assume OP's irl mates are on ps4, so he'd have to get it on ps4 even if he had a pc as well. Also, the controller on fps is irrelevant when consoles always have more people playing it.

Are there comparison videos?

Yes, and when they play with the steering wheel that's their excuse for how poor they're doing.

Overwatch won't have more people playing it on console, You're dumb. Garbage games like CoD have more on consoles lmao

Well you had enough to buy a PS4, didn't you?

Could've built a PC around that same price AND have it be more powerful.

I've only tried it on PC but what's suppose to be bad about the console version?

>it's impossible to be garbage with a keyboard and mouse

okay kid

If i buy a physical PC version at gamestop, does it come with a code to give to a friend? i already got digital version but I want the bonus stuff

>what the hell is so bad about overwatch on console?

You will find less cheaters, missing the true pc experience.

The only problem console gaming has these days is there is not much input variety. Everyone is stuck using the controller. It's like going to a fighting tournament and everyone is using a pad instead of a fight stick.

>what's so bad about overwatch on console?
It's got console controls. That's about it.

Besides Widowmaker and some of the more mobile heroes not being as useful and High-sensitivity Tracers being godlike, not much is going to be different.

In beta I played it both on PC and on Xbone and let me tell you the main difference I saw
The console version had a lot more AFK players. Like they wouldn't pick a character the entire match, so I guess AFK detection never caught them, leaving the entire match a 5 v 6 and in one scenario, a 4 v 6. It was so fucking terrible. Main reason I'm getting it on my PC despite it running like shit comparatively.
My friend on the other console though says he doesn't really run into that but people suck.

It runs perfectly on PS4 though.

it being on console just limits the whole game

you see no air strafing? no rocket skillful rocket jumps? instead you press le 1 button for jet pack xD its balanced for consoles

dont see a problem with it.
played the beta on ps4 and had a blast.

>using fighting games as an analogy when people have won EVO with a controller

>PC has gotten to play the game for months
>consoles only had the one week
>dude people on consoles suck lmao

Sonicfox won Evo? At what? UNIEL? He's good but I didn't think he was win Evo good.

>think genji looks really cool to play
>stuck in console purgatory

am I doomed to disappointment?

>it's balanced for consoles
Console and PC versions are separately balanced

there was nothing wrong with TF2 on xbox360 too

I'm sure there are some outlier cases in fps where using a controller is a better idea. Regardless, consoles lack variety for their input and most would do much better using a keyboard and mouse. But everyone is locked down to a controller.

I'm not trying to start shit there, I'm repeating my friend who also only got to play that weekend.
I kinda miss playing that, only because it never got patched and I abused the shit out of glitches.

not that user, but it's a good analogy and you're kind of missing the point if that's you're response.

it's not a slight against pad players, although sticks are much more fun to use imo, it's an example of a variety, something consoles don't really have with games like Overwatch.

You're not going to be pulling off crazy wall-climbing dodges mid-combat while nailing people with shuriken headshots, but you'll still be able to use genji in his primary function: reflecting heavy weapons and assassinating snipers/supports

Its not an issue with Overwatch, but rather just the fact that FPS are better played with M+KB

I rented TF2 on 360 once just to see what it was like and it felt like a completely different game tonally. barely anyone playing... no communication and really awkward controls.

It's not that big of a difference. I played it on both during the beta. It just sucks you have to get the 60 dollar version. It should have a decent sized community since everyone is angry at COD.

People played it for the first year or two. I know it still had enough people I didn't keep running into the same people over and over after the Pyro update on PC

The controls make a huge difference for this genre.
>Literally every PC game has a longer-lasting playerbase than console.
Except for fighting games.

2nd question.

If I get the physical PC version, do I need to use the disc each time I play? I havent gotten physical in ages.

you install it on your PC, homie.

No, the disc carries/comes with a license to play the game but that license gets tied to your battle.net account. You don't need to have the disc in.

...

MKX

thanks. thats good to hear

This shit happened to me so fucking much when i was on PS4 to the point where we might have 3v6. Its either handing me a loss or handing me an easy win, and I don't want either. Why is there no idlekicking? Or at least votekicking or something?

>implying that everyone on PC had access to Overwatch for more than the open beta week
The only people who got into the actual beta were twitch streamers and youtube fuckboys. A very small handful of other folks were given keys, I assume to show that everyone had a chance of getting in, but most of those people didn't even play because they didn't want to.

err, no. I played SFIV on both 360 and PC and the populations were comparable.

>overwatch isn't garbage

Le lmoa

I played it on xbox one and it was almost perfect performance wise. Some screen tear here and there but it really doesnt last long (not more than 1 or 2 seconds) and happens very rarely. PS4 version doesn't have that issue.

Gameplay wise nothing has changed, except the turrets auto lock rate is decreased slightly to compensate the fact that people are aiming with a controller so it's slower.

I still had fun playing as Toblerone on consoles

>That feel when you hit Molten Core just before your turret gets taken down

I thought this streamer-only closed beta meme died already but guess not. If your vision wasn't blinded by rage over not getting into the beta you could've watched a stream and you would've had a hard time spotting any streamers or youtubers unless the streamer was actively queueing with them.

>paying to play online

Nah fuck that, I'm giving the jews enough money.

but PCs are so expensive

you're right $4 a month is too much, I could have used that money on rent

all the characters are pretty fun except maybe Zaria

the only shooter i can play on console is splatoon with the motion controls.

>the jews

Whoa, tone it down Hitler

nothing?

my computer is trash and I haven't played the PC version but when i played the open beta it seemed just fine to me.

I played Mystery Heroes and I fucking hated getting Zarya

It doesn't help that she's ugly as shit

>playing an FPS game with a controller
I swear to god

>what the hell is so bad about overwatch on console?
Nothing, stop letting shitheads on Sup Forums affect you with their shitposting.

Unless you're just falseflagging in which case fuck you nerd I'm gonna play on PS4 and you can't stop me.

>blaming your lack of skill on the control scheme
I swear to god

>bad performance
Wrong.

>bad controls
Maybe if you're a sadsack that hasn't been playing on game consoles for two decades.
You've missed a lot of fun being glued to a keyboard, user.

i have xbone, ps4 and pc.

I bought the PC edition of overwatch because it was cheaper and will have a longer lifespan,

Has nothing to do with skill. It's just inferior. It's the same for why people who like racing games tend to have a racing wheel and fighting game fans have a fight stick.

>and will have a longer lifespan
By the time the console version dies Overwatch 2 will be out and Overwatch 1 will cost 10 bucks.

>You've missed a lot of fun being glued to a keyboard, user.
Not really.

Are there separate servers? I dunno how console can survive as long as PC if a new generation comes out

Remember TF2 survived for almost 10 years. Consoles come out every 4-5.

Will the playerbase be bigger on PC or PS4?

There was probably 2-3mil on PS4, barely 1mil on XBoner because nobody owns one, and the rest were PC

>there are persons that unironically believe controllers are good for first person shooters

I bought this on PC even though my PC is a toaster. Any fps on consoles are usually shit because of controllers. I'm just hoping that overwatch doesn't take too much to run.

how much is "the rest"

Forget consoles. They nickel and dime you to the last cent. Way too expensive.

how exactly does the pricing for PS plus work? can I just pay on a monthly basis or is it all upfront?

If your computer can't run a game on High/Ultra at 60FPS with no frame drops you're not superior to a console version of a game.

It'll be at least twice as big on PC, probably more like three times bigger, and those numbers will last much longer too. I'm a mild sonygger and I'm still making sure to buy this on PC. Who the fuck would buy a Blizzard game on console? Only reason I can think of is if you're a normie who wants couch co-op Diablo 3. That Starcraft port to N64 had pretty gud controls though.

>what's so bad about playing a fps on console

why paint with a toothbrush when you have actual artist's brushes

>Implying using a controller takes more skill

Which is true since you dont have an easy mode mouse aimbot

>used to play couch co-op diablo 3 with gf on ps3
>she goes nuts and dumps me
>i pour my sorrows into a new PC build
>shitpost on Sup Forums all day and play maybe 1-2 hours of games a week

th-thanks gabe

>calls PC autistic
>so autistic he can't even link two different videos

You can pay monthly but it's more expensive than buying the entire year in one go

$50 a year is probably more than most people here make

Sorry. This is the PC link

Yes, really. In fact the only way for you to experience the best games ever made is through shoddy emulators.

That's like saying a game is hard because you played it with a blindfold. Higher precision and movement output lead to a higher skill ceiling.

how much is it per month?

did they release the specific numbers of player on the various platform? Is there any source?

>Higher skill ceiling
>In "Press Q to win: the game"

Its not even out yet. You don't have shit

10 bucks.
Paying monthly would add up to 120 dollars a year.
Paying for a year upfront costs 50.
