Video games aren't really fun unless I'm drinking

>Video games aren't really fun unless I'm drinking

Is this alcoholism?

What games do you drink and play?

Drinking is for underaged teenagers

Real men vape

Are you me?

Max Payne 3

Im more or less an alcoholic (drunk five nights a week on avg.) And i hate playing vidya when im drunk.

Yes that is alcoholism despite what enablers will tell you, it's not as severe as other type of alcoholism but I would still suggest AA so you can deal with it before it does become severe

By itself, no.
"I don't want days without video games" on top of that, yes.

I'm better at schmups and bullet-hell when I'm a little drunk.

So am I, it's a relaxation thing. Anxiety or stressing about how well you do can make you worse.

i would say alcoholism is when you cant cope or have fun with anything unless youre hammered.

i feel the same way with weed and alcohol in relation to games. just give your self a break from the drugs and try gaming for awhile without them, youll get used to playing sober again.

What are you lads drinking and smoking right now?

Just don't abuse it. Alcohol makes everything more fun so don't worry about it.

My ex was an alcoholic. I hope you get better.

I wouldn't say so. It would be alcoholism if you do it alone, and it's just an excuse in your mind to drink without thinking as a filthy drunk of yourself. But with friens, is more like a social thing, were the fun part in a party game is watching others get drunk while you're still well

I used to drink by myself when painting or playing games but I realized I was just making myself fat for no reason so I just drink socially now.

drinking actually prohibits me from playing vidya. When I get home from drinking or the rare times when I drink at home, I get extremely lazy. I dont even want to put in the effort to play a game. On a few occasions Ive played a game while drinking but most of the time it just makes me tired and want to not do anything, I don't really drink much to start with.

>ITT alcoholics try to justify their addiction
>b-but I'm a social drinker
>b-but I only need a little to relax

pretty much everything
i might be sober like 6 hours a day tops

Still early for beer, but I got Guinness in the fridge.

I got drunk alot out of boredom mostly and the same reason as you that I cant enjoy videogames that much without it. probably drink about 2-3 a week.
I havent drinked a drop in 2 weeks cause I don't have the money for it at the moment. it's kind of boring.

What is the point of vaping anyway? I heard the feeling is just like when you smoke a cigarette. Is it just that it's "healthier"?

>mug
my nicca

alcohol is just "man I feel bored and miserable I better drink some of this drug so my brain becomes numb and stupid and then everything is so fuuuun"

Quick reminder that drinking, smoking, and any other sort of neurotic alteration is degenerate.

Drinking fifa if I have people over. Lots of fun.

sounds about right famalam

yes its alot safer than smoking cigarettes

I only drink at home when I host couch co op gaming nights.

Genres range from fighting games to shit like War in the North on PS3.

We need more Champion of Norrath like games.

The only time I actually feel like playing dota 2 is when I'm drinking/drunk. I'll just get an urge to play. I mean I play horribly if I look back at my stats a few days later but at least I can finally have fun while playing that game cause I'm not taking it seriously.

I don't think I've played dota sober for 3-4 months.

I had a drinking problem because of the same reasons, and I was literally saved because of podcasts. Entertaining background noise helps me go through games like no tomorrow.

No, it's probably that he doesn't really like videogames anymore, but grew up playing them with friends and sees it as an event for socialization, and so he plays vidya to socialize, but in order to better socialize he needs to be drinking, because reasons, so he needs to drink when he plays vidya type thing. Needing to drink in order to socialize might be alcoholism though...

I don't really like drinking and gaming. It makes my reaction times shit and I become frustrated that I'm underperforming. So I guess any non-competative games with little skill required would be best.

I do enjoy playing some party games like smash bros when drinking with friends though.
