So user, did you find anything nice at those garage sales?

So user, did you find anything nice at those garage sales?

Is there a site or something for finding nearby garage sales?

Craigslist is fucking useless to me since I live in an area where it's usually the same shit on repeat getting sold. (recent consoles, shovelware wii games, ect)

The obvious is "keep an eye out for signs as you drive/walk places" but sometimes I still miss them.

I'm not too sure off the top of my head. I've been recommended some things in the past, but I couldn't actually find anything that worked the way I needed it to

I did find this today actually though. Just a case with a manual though. Someone stole the game

inside case pic

How much did you pay for it? I've gotta remember to stop by all of the garage sales I see but sometimes I just feel too autistic that day and don't want to interact with anyone.

i ended up paying about 50 cents for the case, lady was really nice about it. not sure what i'm gonna do with it beyond pretend I have a copy of melee again

>just got my new ps3 game guys

Not many yard sales have video games in my area. Gotta got to goodwill for any hope of success

are we memeing like it's 2008

you really gotta look at every one man. some of them you may not expect to have anything but they can be hidden in cases and all that fun shit. i've found a copy of roller coaster tycoon hidden in a cd holder before

>in a 5 mile radius
>there are exactly 4 yard sales
trust me when i say theres no video games

Love goodwill. Good place for used cds and random shit for me. It's where I was able to pick up one of those 360 wireless controller receivers for pc.

damn dude that's fuckin harsh. usually this time of year there's a shit ton of them. do you live in a rural area?

The last time anything remotely of value rolled into mine was a still sealed Star Wars Episode 1 VHS and an Atari 5200 for 70 bucks (was beat to hell anyway)

I live in a rich area. People never sell things, they just toss and replace.
One of the yard sales is for fucking pottery for fucks sake.

I ended up picking up alot of good shit from the goodwill down the street from where I live.

Some recent purchases were a few yokai watch plushes for a dollar each and 2 copies of rhythm heaven fever for wii for 6 dollars each. can find some good stuff from time to time

GameHunterVideos (on youtube) finally uploaded a new vid after 2 years
hopefully he will start up again, he says in his video that he wants a better "spy" camera since he feel to weird with the big thing on his head(and that people can act weird or just not let him buy stuff)

you could sell it online since i know there are always people who end up buying disks alone and need a case (or vice versa)

theres an online auction site for goodwill
didnt even know it was a thing til a friend showed me

they charge such a fucking premium though its so rediculous

>tfw online auction prices have ruined local swapmeets, thrift stores, and even garage sales in my area

There wouldn't happen to be pawn or thrift shops near you, would there? I've noticed that when I go to areas with them, Goodwills become obsolete since "why donate this shit when I can get money for it instead?"

exactly. fuck amazon and ebay.

youre right but sometimes it can be worthwhile.

no. i have to drive pretty far for any chance of that.

while they can be nice for a lot of different things, aka specific items. I completely agree. they also artificially inflate the price on some games/items that were low for a very long time

wait, did you crumb inside your spyro case?

i guess he got so excited when he found the game

sorry about that, I was just trying to take a picture kind of quickly and the camera couldnt get a proper focus i guess?

>crumb
is this a new term the kids use for cum?

No....no it fucking cant.....paying an extra 13$ for an item is ridiculous and the sellers have really fucking latched onto it.

They fucked me buying warhammer shit on there and now it sells for almost new prices.....also I think goodwill inflates the auction prices with fake bids.

Also found this thermos at one of the sales

backside

there are no garage sales in the shithole i live, only american clothes sales.

Garage sales are a gamble for me but, for the most part, are untouched pricewise. I got a Tomb Raider 2013 limited edition, GTA V, and a GH2 controller for 15 bucks last year.

Thrift stores on the other hand have just gotten embarrassing, though not bad for big box PC games.

>tfw I got a boxed copy of VtM: Bloodlines a few years back
I didn't know it was worth as much as it was.

>it's a fucked up wooden furniture and grandma clothes sale

Facebook may have a local buy, sell, trade group pages to join.

I've gone four weeks in a row and have found absolutely nothing

Fucking everybody is on the internet now and they know it's worth something

usually it's pretty old people running most of the ones near where i live. just try and find the less well off areas if you can. they usually offer things for cheaper. just a little something i noticed

>mfw mom n pop shops set their prices exactly the same as the internet.

Yeah, nah, fuck you. Im not asking for dirt cheap shit, but you should at least offer some incentive to ME, the customer, to NOT buy online.

If all you're going to do is price match, I'm just not gonna buy from you. When you factor in time, gas, etc, you're actually more expensive at that point, and I refuse to give you business if your business practice reflects the inflated market of the internet.

scratched gb color pokemon edition for 27$, should I buy it?

post pic, it may be an okay deal if in okay condition

ugh I hate it when people do this especially when yard sale people do this

Do they not realize on top of all this ebay offer a money back guarantee and they take about 20% of what you make from ebay and paypal fees

without the game, also without battery cover but working

Haggle it down to 20, mention the missing battery cover.

If they refuse, ask for the middle of 23. If they refuse, just let it go.

don't do it....if it's 15$ i'd say maybe if you really wanted it but.....nahhhhhhhh

>338415924
it's really up to you bud. That's not too bad a deal but I dont see any up on amazon so i dont know a base price. 27 is pretty alright for a gb color though.

I'm not too versed on gb/color prices

>go to fleamarket

>guy has table set up with tons of old vidya

>NES games for $50
>Final Fatansy 7 through 10 for around $80 each
>SNES games going for $60 a pop

>ask him whats with his prices

>"these are vintage classic games. Collectors items! All prices are final!"

All I've found within the last month was sports games, with the exception of Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets on GameCube.

You should be feeling lucky, because I'm giving you a DEAL!

ok thanks, I'll see if I can buy it for 20$

That kind of thing happens at cons all the time.

People try charging you like 200% of what it's worth for some unbeknownst reason to me

found Jurassic park operation genesis
>case only

Haven't you heard, user? Gamecube is the new hip and cool thing to buy. Here, I'll sell you a copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 for 20 bucks.

Harvest Moon on the Gamecube at a thriftstore for $2
GBA SP and MMBN3, Golden Sun 1 and 2 for $5

>tfw got Dark Cloud 2 for $10 off of a friend
my greatest accomplishment

the actual sp? nice. how much did it cost you?

Good luck, user. The internet is a double edged sword for both consumers and sellers.

If they refuse, just mention off handedly how it was about the same price online and you can just get it there.

Don't be a jew, though. 20 is a fair price, especially considering the battery cover is missing.

>go to flea market
>guy has table set up with tons of old vidya
>ask him what his prices are
>calls for his son
>obviously a price matcher

Same shit here.
Almost giving up. Now expending some cash on my em,ulation machine.

>go to fleamarket
>Fucking shit wants sell a bronken snes, genesis and master system costing a price of a fuctional one (+or- 30 dollars).
Its almost 2 years, and the idot not lowered the price.

It always cracks me up when people think they're going to get ANYTHING for FFIX.

always hate those guys on amazon who put things as "collectible" higher then the price for a new sealed copy, unless that shit has been signed by some devs or VAs I don't care about your scratched up disc

why do people try selling all final fantasy games for huge sums of cash

it usually comes back to ff7 retardation

>go to flea market
>lots of rare games
>theres a sega saturn with Magic Knight Rayearth
>guy wants close to $1,200 for it

holy kekaroni patchouli fuck that shit.

Because FF7 was legitimately going for $100+ before it was released on PSN and on Steam and shit, so all the other games clearly must be worth that much!

shit like this is why im glad emulation is as thriving as it is today.

i love collecting but prices can push me away on a lot of games i would love to try

I wish it were possible to reprint video games like books. Sucks how so many are forced to go digital as a result of resellers.

what sucks even worse about digital distribution is there isn't really a way to resell the product so we can't really have cheaper distribution in the sense that we have resale/secondhand shops

Indeed always hated that.
