Boooooo
>game ends with a boss battle
>it becomes apparent that it's one of those unwinnable battles as time goes on
>suddenly everything's cuhrayzee and you win
>There is no difficulty curve, just a difficulty wall
Kingdom hearts 3D did that and it was still bad
>Game starts with tutorial that shifts into endless fight of increasing difficulty that determines the difficulty you start at.
Game is matrix path of neo.
>final boss appears earlier
>you must lose
>if you win it's game over

>boss is defeated by the power of friendship
>if you refuse the tutorial it turns into an unwinnable fight boss
>game is only boss battles
>boss isn't defeated by the hero
>he kills himself instead
>it's a "supposed to lose" boss fight
>you can actually win it with enough skill

I was thinking of Kingdom Hearts. The first fight with Leon in Traverse Town, as well as the first fight with Cloud at the Colosseum.
...
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2.
Forbidden Memories, the first duel with Isshin.
Demon's Souls, also Asylum Demon with that broken hilt sword.
Demon Souls.
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
wait you're supposed to lose those???
>boss uses mechanics and status effects that are no where else in the game
stupid snake

In retrospect, I may have worded that wrong. The game expects you to lose them, but doesn't stop you from winning.
There's one in the bidoof quest of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky.
It just plays the same cutscene you'd get for losing.
Beat in TWEWY. Even if you win, it gives you the same cutscene as if you lost.
what game does this ?
>"Hero, you must go on this quest to save the world."
>"No."
>game ends
>character in game outright states if you play on easy, the ending will be worse
Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure.
>beat a battle you're supposed to lose
>game crashes because the devs didn't think anyone could actually do it and were too lazy to fix it
>"What's that, hero? Sorry, let me ask again."
>"Hero, you must go on this quest to save the world."
>game asks you if you're going or not at the adventure
>pick no
>you can't leave the room until you pick yes
>Obviously unwinnable boss battle
>Stop trying and die
>Game Over
>You were supposed to survive for a certain amount of time
>The start of the game is actually the end
>decline several times
>"But you're the Hero of Legend! You can't just refuse...please, reconsider!"
>choose no again, get a game over and have to watch the entire 5-minute opening again
