He was a conqueror and a brutal ruler that tried anything to keep Abyss away, so it's not completely impossible that he went full genocide to empower himself with all those souls of the killed.

remember that a lot of the smaller gods we fight have either burnt out and gotten smaller because of it.
Gwyn is still the current record holder for holding the most souls at one given time, since he was one of the few that took from the first flame, but when we fight him he's spent so many eons putting his souls back into the fire that he is now smaller in size.

Either one of those things on it's own is enough to take down god tier fighters like Artorias or Ivory King. Together? run around their back, you may think it's the gas the emit that makes your health drain but it's actually their stare, so if you run around and backstab em you don't lose health
this may be harder in that room with 6 jailers though

Try luring them out one by one

probably won't help you if you go through the area with the two giant rats, but the other end has a cell with a crucified undead (i think it's a lycan) if you free it, it attacks the jailers (run to the empty cell across the hall from it)

Took me a while to figure out what that life drain shit is from. The gas is actually harmless, it's a decoy. I think when they glow red and make eye contact with you, then your health drains. Run up and slap their shit when they're glowing green/blue instead of red.

I just let the life drain hit me, since I knew it wasn't permanent. Avoid getting hit and you'll be fine, their attacks with that branding iron are slow as shit and easy to dodge.

What the fuck was up with Anri of Astora's questline? I "married" her by stabbing her in the face. ;_;

She was just some sort of knight. Nothing special and yeah probably got roped into getting her true power drawn out just like you did but considering she didn't have as many dark sigils as you, she probably stopped

Which in the long run, probably pissed off Yuria who turned to you instead, seeing you as a much more suited vassal to be the "Dark Lord" so she has the pilgrims trick Anri and also you so you could stab her in the face thus killing her and absorbing her sigils and dark power.

Clear the side room with the dragon fucks and profaned coal, open the gate with the crucified guy in it, shoot an arrow across the room at him and run through the dragon room to lure him into the jailers

Large bosses tend to have bodyparts that are more vulnerable. Look for something soft.
