So will it be PC Game of the Year or just Game of the Year overall?
when did a tf2 killer ever get goty?
when will blizzshills get banned
when that tf2 killer was overwatch
>MP Only
>GOTY
Hah you wish, blizzdrone
It's a game that people will forget about several months from now, so no.
I hate it when people call any class-based team shooter a "TF2 killer". The only game that killed TF2 is TF2.
flavor of the month
Got a lot of competition. 2016 is a huge year for japanese games
I honestly didn't think it was that great.
Battleborn was a bit better, mostly for the stupid single player, but I won't be buying either.
it will probably be uncharted considering all the hype its gotten
I don't think Sup Forums is ever really in line with what people actually like.
Game of the Year will probably be Deus Ex or Uncharted 4 or some other movie simulator, but I suspect there will be an overwhelming popularity for the game that game journalists won't be able to ignore.
It's the Donald Trump of PC games.
PC GOTY for sure. Content updates will ensure that.
>goty
Two words, user:
Deus
Ex
honestly i can't even remember the last time I enjoyed any game that wasn't primarily designed around multiplayer.
it straight up baffles me year after year when another movie is declared game of the year and competitive video games have enormous and devoted fanbases, but never get recognized critically.
i've just taken it to mean the video game journalism movement is populated entirely by people who spend more time writing about a watching video games than actually playing them.
Well it's coming out on consoles, so why would it be PC GOTY?
Cause it will sell the most on PC and the majority of the competitive fanbase will be on PC.
The combined sales of Overwatch PS4/X1 together will be about half of the PC sales.
This is the Blizzard fanbase we're talking about.
Consoles are shit.
>honestly i can't even remember the last time I enjoyed any game that wasn't primarily designed around multiplayer
That's kinda sad. I'm lately finding myself having fun with games I always hated because they were too easy (like pic related); I realized not every game is made to challenge me like the fucking Dante Must Die mode, and I can now get enjoyment with more simple shit. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I think each genre has something to offer
i just don't find it fun to watch a movie game
if i want to watch a movie i'll sit down and watch a movie.
if i want to play a game, I want to play a fucking video game.
I've had more fun playing tens of thousands of StarCraft, Street Fighter matches over the course of several years than I have playing any movie game to completion after 10 hours or whatever. Any game that involves cutscenes that last more than 3 minutes is by my definition, a movie game.
The greatest thing about Overwatch is that you turn on the fucking game, click find match, and within 30 seconds you're playing a fucking game.
in this market full of movie games yes I'll pay full price for a game that's actually a video game.
>Cause it will sell the most on PC
>will sell on pc
PS4 sale will be triple to pc
do you really not think a Blizzard game is going to sell the most copies on PC?
most ps4 owners don't know what Blizzard is.
>blizzard game built to run on toasters
>not selling the most on pc
Wether it sells better on PS4 or PC, doesn't matter all that matters is...
Love D.Va
Why would I love worst girl? Doesn't make sense.
i can't wait to stay up all night watching arr rook same professional gooks playing pro Overwatch against autistic Swedes.
God Bless Blizzard.
>gearbox and valvedrones teaming up to shitpost overwatch threads

>mfw i'm not even buying the game after beta but can't wait to see console footage of people trying to do fast 180's and shit as tracer etc.
It's gonna be like watching people keyboard turn in WoW
no league of legends is not game of the year 2016, although i realize it's been pc goty every year since it dropped.
overwatch is both tf2 killer and lol killer.
>i just don't find it fun to watch a movie game
It's about taste m8
Last year I played Grim Fandango with my two roommates and it was really fun, despite being mostly story driven
Deus Ex is probalby my favorite vidya series, and it won't be even among my "most liked" if it wasn't that much filled with narrative
The Ace Attorney series is like watching an interactive animated movie, yet it has truly golden moments
The Blazeblue games are pretty fun and can be really hard to master, yet half of the game is basically a visual novel and I even got interested by the story, despite not really appreciating anime
I was raised with late 90s pc games so I feel you, but that's pretty much a reality: some people like easy stuff, some people just want to relax, some people can't git gud, some people is gud but still want a break, some people can get enjoyment by both challenging and story-driven content, some people will always only like to play alone, and so on
Might as well try to see if there's something out there for you too
honestly i'd rather just keep playing starcraft, street fighter and overwatch. i'll buy a few other games but those first two titles are like staples of my gaming habits for the past 7 years.
i'd rather play 1-3 games I like rather than 20+ games I know I'm not going to actually like which will just make me feel like I wasted time/money.
I've gotten more joy out of a $50 copy of Wings of Liberty I played almost every single day until HotS and LotV came out than practically every single game I bought in the entire 2000s decade.
I'm almost 25 years old. The first video game I ever played was an SNES copy of Street Fighter II Turbo when I was 5 years old. I still have more fun playing Street Fighter than practically every other game I've tried.
Overwatch is the only game I've played in the past 6 years that's been as immediately fun as Street Fighter and StarCraft.
Some people just know what they like.
Then the future is going to be pretty dark for you friend
Why? He has games that he likes.
No it won't.
Street Fighter V is constantly getting new characters and updates. And Sony is pouring millions of dollars into the eSports community to build up the SFV viewerbase.
StarCraft still has a dedicated fanbase who play and watch professional tournaments all the time, the game still gets periodically patched and the World Championship Series still goes on.
Overwatch is coming out 7pm tomorrow.
Donald Trump is about to become 45th President of the United States.
The future is wonderful. There is a God and he loves all his children, even the autistic ones like me.
not him but
>playing only 3 games in over 10 years
>having Berlusconi 2.0 as president
>wonderful future
kek
it's even funnier because you actually trust capcom, starcraft is getting less and less popular each day, and overwatch will soon be TF2 part two
and slut clinton is going to be president
I have played other games, but SC2 and USF4 SFV are the games I've enjoyed the most probably in my entire life.
Donald Trump will almost inevitably be the greatest American President since JFK, Harry Truman, Abraham Lincoln and George Washington himself. He's the most constitutionalist Presidential candidate in decades. There's a reason his popularity is actually surging constantly and Hillary is losing ground. Even Bernie supporters would often rather vote for Trump over Hillary.
Capcom has for years been the best developer of fighting games. I paid full price for every single iteration of Street Fighter IV and enjoyed all of them, I have zero qualms about my purchase of SFV, definitely the game I've played the most this year. Street Fighter fans don't even understand why people play non-Capcom fighters, unless it's Arcsys in which case you want an airdasher alternative to Street Fighter.
I care not for SC2's dwindling popularity, I'll still watch it and play it and buy the inevitable StarCraft 3 on release date.
Why won't Sup Forums like Deus Ex?
It's full of casuals and millennials
