Do you guys think that we will get a new Elder Scrolls announcement by Bethesda this year in E3? (In case you didnt know Bethesda will be going to E3 this year)

I hope they will wait a year more to be sure they did this game on new engine.

yeah its pretty much guaranteed
why else would they have another whole conference if not to announce it? an obsidian fallout is also acceptable

Will the game look like something made in 2012 or 2013? Burning questions.

>Just released Fallout last year
>Thinks we're anywhere near a TES announcement

Their games take 3-5 year dev cycles.

No fucking way. 2018 is the earliest, but could take as long as 2020.

>people actually believing there will not be any TES this generation

Oblivion-Fallout 3 gap was 2 years, my bet is this one is gonna be the same, of course it will run on the same engine

No, I think it's too soon. Maybe some like low budget Elder Scrolls mobile game, but I think ES VI won't be announced until at least 2017.

children

Do you know how much money Bethesda/Zenimax has invested in ESO? It's not fucking hard to make an educated guess lots and lots of mmoney.

That's a service they're not going to bury that game so soon obviously. They're still releasing updates/expansions and you'll see more ESO at E3 no doubt.

The full development for TES VI hasn't even started because BGS is still working on Fallout 4 DLCs. Now now there's no need to be salty you'll see TES VI sooner than you think because they have multiple studios nowadays who can help with development and even BGS is expanding as a studio which means shorter development cycles.

Now stop being crybabies and look forward to TES Legends

If they announced they are making their own showcase this year, like last year, then yes they probably will announce an Elder Scrolls game. Otherwise, why put all the money for making your own show? For Elder Scrolls Online DLC? Doom DLC? Fallout 4 DLC? Dishonored 2?

Last year they had Fallout 4, Doom, and Dishonored 2 as new upcoming games to fill a conference with along with ESO dlc and the fallout shelter phone game to pad things out with.

This year if they don't announce TES VI, they're going to have more padding than actual content to fill a conference with because Doom and Fallout 4 are already out.

due to recent successes, Bethesda is now fucking massive. Hence all the acquisitions they've made of other studios, creating their own MMO studio, etc.

They have multiple 200+ developer teams at this point. They are not only working on TES VI, but also a new IP, they advertised hiring more developers for a "new cutting edge RPG" recently.

As it is, TESO is now printing money, it has millions of players, the switch to B2P and console launches have made it pretty successful.

They sell DLC zones for $20-$30 worth of crowns each, so people either fork over that money, or they subscribe to have access to it.

It makes good money now.

Bethesda Zenimax have a lot of studios you dummy they'll have new games obviously

Dishonored 2 is a fall game what the fuck are you even on about. You know what that means? It's their big game this year.

They have a Fantasy and Post Apocalyptic IP doing well.
The only major genre they do not have something in is sci fi (fuck off C0DAfags).

I would think announcing a new game in that arena would be worth the money. They have an in to Star Trek on the board of Zeni so that is a possibility.

>The full development for TES VI hasn't even started because BGS is still working on Fallout 4 DLCs.
Traditionally, the template Bethesda follow is that they start a new game as soon as the previous game releases, so I think they have started some form of development.

Also, I agree that ESO makes them a fuckton of money (probably more than any single player game would) but I think Bethesda Game Studios probably have too big of a push in the company and will probably try and get some form of single player game out there. Besides, I would like to say BGS try and please fans and ESO, even with the amount of money it might earn, isn't very popular.

>TESO is now printing money

Fuck this gay world.

ifs its the same engine. i will fucking cry my eyes out for a decade it will take before they release the next elder scrolls

and even then they will prpbably STILL be using it

not popular?

It's the biggest MMORPG on console, console plebs love it since they have no experience with MMORPGs

right but dishonored 2 by itself isn't worthy of making your own conference for.

Especially since they already announced it last year.

They're a massive publisher now and are capable of working on several projects at the same time.

DESU, I think development of TES VI started in 2013, when the last Skyrim DLC's was released and they made a decision to "move on" rather than make another Skyrim DLC.

Fallout 4 development probably started years before that.

Yeah but what competition is it going up against on consoles?

FFXIV, DCUO pretty much.

ESO plays mostly like an elder scrolls game that you happen to run into other people in now, just without game changing mods (just UI mods). In a week or so the Dark Brotherhood will be in game, some months later, spellcrafting is coming.

Why is that a bad thing? It's set a thousand years before the single player games and won't have any effect on the single player games. It's an entirely separate studio that made it and supporting it.

If I were to make a safe prediction of Bethesda's E3 conference this year, it would be:

>Dishonoured 2 footaged (and yes I spell is honour because I'm a eurofag).
>Fallout 4 DLC announcements.
>Some Elder Scrolls mobile shit.
>Show off some more of Battlecry (if it's even still a think).
>DOOM DLC announcement.
>(Maybe) Announce a new IP.

That's probably the safest bet I can make for the event. Maybe we get a new Elder Scrolls or even a new IP announced, but I doubt it honestly.

That's why I said there wasn't a lot of competition.

Neverwinter is also a thing ...because it's free meh it's not bad

Regardless of announcements, should I get ESO for ps4?

I have no intention of actually playing online with people.

Honestly? I think it's worth playing as a single player game. If you're getting it on consoles you're used to no mods Elder Scrolls anyway.

>and won't have any effect on the single player games

Except on the lore and on the setting it rapes to death, you mean. The MMO traded all creativity and potential in the exotic provinces to churn out bog standard fantasy environments for a shitty game. Now I do not believe Bethesda would have produced something of outstanding quality in their own games, but it sure as hell would have been better than this. TESO rapes my eyes with its lack of imagination every time I look at it.

But it won't. The reason Todd said it had to be set so far back is so that anything that happens in ESO can be ignored lore wise.

How hard is it to understand that it established how the setting and the cultures that populate it look? I don't give a flying fuck about history, it's the fucking setting of the franchise that bothers me.

tell me lies tell me sweet little lies

Skyrim Remastered

They said they tested the new consoles before starting production on Fallout 4 by working on getting Skyrim running on them. It would make no sense for them to not take advantage of this whilst we wait a long ass time for the next elder scrolls game

It also makes no sense for them to have a conference this year with no massive games apparently being shown. Doom is already out, ESO is dead, Dishourned isn't exactly a massive IP. Even though a Skyrim remaster would just be another release of a game that came out last generation for the many it would probably be on an equal level of them announcing an actual new elder scrolls game.

Todd will probably ignore that too.

>ESO is dead

It's not popular on Sup Forums, but it's popular among normies.

gamesindustry.biz/articles/2016-05-19-the-elder-scrolls-online-added-millions-of-new-players-in-2015

>implying they didn't make Fallout 4 in 2 hours just before the e3 reveal

That's the only way to explain FO4

Definitely not, fallout 4 and especially elder scrolls online delayed this, they'll be focusing on elder scrolls online and dlc's etc + other projects like dishonored 2 etc
A new scrolls game will be in late 2017 or more likely 2018 if not 2020, me personally i'm guessing 2020...

Don't be retarded. Todd is not some savior of TES that has the fandom's best interest at heart. He will not ignore a game that is apparently popular, and most likely will be running even when they come out with their next game. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they took assets from TESO too. Less work for them.

The success of this pile of shit means game over for everything else. After almost two decades of waiting for something decent to come out of this setting, this feels like a giant FUCK YOU.

What if they reveal Morrowind Remasterd

dont say that... my favorite TES game but I wouldn't want that,

desu Im looking forward to Skywind because I feel that community could handle it better

No. Nor the next year or the year after that.

Bethesda always does games on ~4 year development cycle. Their next game will probably be released late 2019

>Morrowind 2002
>Oblivion 2006
>Fallout 3 2008
>Skyrim 2011
>Fallout 4 2015

All their latest 3 games have had long dev cycles. They'll be showcasing the games they'll publish in E3, like Dishonored 2 and probably Doom post-release content.

>skywind

Nigga that shit ain't ever gonna come out and be stable

Any specific reason you didn't include New Vegas? Considering it was 2010 then Skyrim 2011.

Is it because it's just the same assets at F3 and therefore wasn't exactly a full dev'd game?

One can dream...

they made enough money off of skyrim to have another development team, maybe even more than 2 (considering they were hiring for a new IP recently)

Don't be surprised if you're wrong.

Likely they'll announce TES VI but it won't be coming out until late 2017 or maybe early 2018.

The biggest indicator is them making their own conference again this year. If it was just Dishonored 2 and some DLC for games they already released, they'd just come on stage and talk about it during microsoft or sony's conferences like they used to. They already have Quakecon for their own dedicated show normally. The decision to do an E3 conference was because they had 3 major titles to announce, Fallout 4, Doom, and Dishonored 2.

They decided to do another separate conference this year, so that means, a big announcement.

Todd didn't want the MMO to be made in the first place, wanted nothing to do with it, but then went in as a consultant to make sure that it didn't fuck up things he wanted to do with the single player games.

Whether or not Todd's vision of what he wants TES to be aligns with what fans want TES to be is completely a separate issue. No I'm not saying Todd is the savior of TES, I'm saying he's the director and sometimes executive producer of them.

He's going to do things the way he wants them regardless of what they do in the MMO.

after the shit that was fallout 4 they are not getting a dime from me.

New Vegas was developed by Obsidian but published by Bethesda. I included in the list only the games Bethesda's own studio has developed.

Developing =/= Publishing

I seriously doubt they make another ES game with the same engine they used for Skyrim. My bet is they design a new engine and use ES6 to showcase it.

sorry, i was really just paying attention to the release dates and trying to put it together

>Todd didn't want the MMO to be made in the first place
source? Hopefully Todd uses a new engine for the next game

Bethesda probably started working on FO4 and TES VI simultaneously, prioritizing FO4

They can't afford to have a 5+ year gap on their flagship franchise

Probably not. They've been clear about focusing on a single game at once.

And I wouldn't call TES their flagship franchise, both TES and Fallout have roughly the same value. They hardly lose anything by focusing them one at a time, given their resources.

I really really REALLY hope they do not completely fuck up the dialogue in TESVI like they did in FO4.

It made the game unplayable to me, I got to about level 3 before returning it.

At least give us an option to keep our character silent.

Stop talking out of your fucking ass

Fucking hate retarded fanboys

TES didn't start and it will not end with Todd Howard you pleb.
Most of the people who worked on TES over the year helped with Elder Scrolls Online in some way.

I sort of agree. They'll probably announce Creation Kit 2 and show it off with a tech demo, but I don't think they'll announce ES VI.

Fallout is nowhere close to TES in terms of value.

And they've not been clear about 1 game at a time policy, or have you not noticed how Oblivion and Fallout 3 were released on a 2 year gap,I hope you don't think Bethesda developed Fallout 3 in just 2 years, back when developer tools weren't as advanced as they are now and Bethesda didn't have the unlimited resources they do now

They do work on 2 games hand in hand,New Vegas was supposed to be a Beth game too and waa to go hand in hand with Skyrim but since Skyrim was too ambitious by Bethesda standards they outsourced New Vegas to Obsidian

This also shows Fallout always comes second to Bethesda , TES is the flagship

>Spend 4 years making Skyrim 2
>Realize that all their fans want FO4

Yeah but Bethesda didn't fully own the Fallout franchise until 2014 and I think by this point they've got into enough of a pattern where they alternate between Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

>Calling a new Elder Scrolls game Skyrim 2.

They've owned the IP since 2007

Dishonored 2

Sorry, you're right. I was thinking of the rights to all the pre-Bethesda Fallout games they won in that legal battle.

What are you talking about. Beth bought the IP before Fallout 3

There was this whole legal battle with Beth and Interplay over Fallout Online which ended with Bethesda getting full 100% ownership the Fallout IP, meaning they cancelled Fallout Online and own the rights to Fallout 1,2, Tactics, etc.

>ESO dead

Dude, the game is printing money for TES ever since they decided to go B2P, especially with the implementation of their Jew system where they block regions from people unless your subscribe or spend crowns.
