Name a boss fight that made you feel more emotion than Asriel. I genuinely don't think one exists.

A close second, at least for me. Beat Joyful for the first time last night. I don't know, though. Dad was just sad. Asriel was like, 5 emotions at once. And the music, jesus christ.
Final boss in Okami
This is hot soup thread now!
e-z
I pretty much felt nothing so basically any other boss fight.
THIS

This boss was anime as fuck
>when the lyrics kick in
That was easy
Sorry to interrupt, but I need some help. It's obvious that Battleborn hasn't been marketed enough and if you'd like to help Battleborn ensure its stay, then here are a couple things that you can do to help battleborn get noticed and therefore get more players!
The main way to spread things is through your social media such as twitter, tumblr, facebook, and even picture screenshots on instagram (Although it seems less effective)
1. One thing I did, and got almost 2k notes on tumblr, was just post the prologue video! I received comments drawing interest and even convinced some people to buy it!
2. Another thing to do is to post and write about your favorite characters with some pictures or gifs and what you like about them, their play style, and how useful they are with certain unique aspects of this game.
People love characters with personality so show them battleborn is chock full of them! show off your favorite character and gush over them!
3. Theres also talking about how chock full of lore and story it is, so along with campaign and awesome boss battle talk, you might want to add in
the link to the 3 chaptered pre-game "animated" comic or show off easter eggs to show the games humor! (since most people miss it) Or other things of this sort like direct funny quotes!
Jesus Christ, that orchestra on Vergil's final fight was awesome.
Anger is an emotion. This fight may as well be a 2D version of Orphan of Kos.
Lady Maria, Orphan of Kos, Gehrman
Artorias, Sif, Gwyn
Sans, Asgore
Soul of Cinder.
Got goose bumps when gwyn's theme starting playing in
look at kumatora
she's fucking smiling
she planned all of this
she's the real final boss
It's not even the most emotion fight in it's own game.
probably because it was one of my first games ever but still, fighting ganon was like the end of an era for me
I could name dozens.
I could name several IN HIS OWN GAME.
Neutral Undyne (when you kill her), genocide Undyne, Sans.
Dumb OP.
...
>mfw there are still undertale threads
go back to your containment board fuckers.
I hope you know what you're doing OP
I felt nothing playing undertale. Just dank memes
...
asriel dreemurr's boss fight was the apex of video game bosses for me as far as player investment and emotion goes. I dont believe I'll play a better game than that
imo
lol what is that undertale ripoff????
...
...
>you must be so exhausted
here is your (you) fuckbag
I really disliked how it's basically a cutscene though, same with Omega Flowey. I found Asgore to be much better because it was a fight I could actually fail
The only emote that bossfight made me feel was disgust.
We started with an edgy "I give no fucks, I like to kill shit" villain like Flowey.
Then he becomes a whiny "muh feelz" faggot with a rainbow sephiroth OC, who only wants his friend back.
No, fuck off. Dumbass whiny "muh feelz" "muh so alone" "muh friends" piece of faggot shit needs to die.
Flowey? Flowey may have been a dick. But he had some self respect and wasn't a whiny faggot.
I spammed [FIGHT] in the Asriel fight until the game took the option away from me.
I did complete the fight, but I felt disgusted and dirty that I let that little faggot live.
No, I did not forgive or hug him. whiny bitches do not get sympathy. To get sympathy, you must first not be a little bitch.
I did enjoy dodging all the credits and going to dog room. But shit, do I really have to let the rainbow sephiroth shotegote live if I want to go there? Not worth it imo.
Every run I made after that has been Neutral or Genocide. Mostly Genocide, though I do enjoy the Neutral where you befriend Undyne, then kill Mettaton. She falls into a deep depression.
...
I'm pretty sure you mistake it with Flowey fight, mate, and even then it falls short when you understand you can't really fail there.
It's just Flowey hides that fact MUCH better then forced and shitty goatman fight.
Play Nier. You'll thank me
what fucked up design of a sword is this?
almost on par with the gilded sword from majoras mask
i'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet
youtube.com
I appreciate the lighting contrast and the details in the darkness of this picture.
Pokemon Trainer AZ
That isn't praise for the AZ fight
And while I am on this topic:
FUCK Teaching Feeling.
You guys told me it was a slave raising game.
You don't raise a slave at all.
In fact, if you treat her the way you should treat a slave (measured amounts of abuse and kindness to condition them), she fucking DIES, and the way you're meant to play the game is to be nice to her all the time.
Screw that betamax shit. 50/50 Abuse and Kindness is the proper way to discipline and train your girl to have feelings.
I enjoyed LISA. I didn't understand what everyone was talking about it being "painful". Yes you can't have everything, but the stuff you have to ""sacrifice"" isn't really important.
>I went to the trouble of sparing everybody to get to this boss but I mashed fight because I suddenly turned into an edgelord
You could actually fail Omega Flowey. He'd even relentlessly mock you, then think you're failing on purpose, then call you a sicko.
You just couldn't go back to the game after you started it until you finished it.
...
taking a huge shit irl
...
...
really? You'd basically have to be actively trying to fail then right seeing as I stopped dodging entirely during the last half of the fight and never got a game over
...
The fight against Claus at the end of Mother 3.
/thread
I don't get how people can say Asriel was emotional. He's just a character they threw in 15 minutes before the game ended and had next to no buildup, so what's there to feel emotional for? Feels like a wasted final boss.
The Undyne genocide fight (and also neutral if you decide to kill her) is much better, especially if you replay the game.
It was just another generic "I lost someone so I guess it makes sense to destroy literally everything" final boss. I hate that shit. I hate it in every single game it happens in, and I hated it in undertale.
...
There is one thing that really pisses me off about Mother 3.
Kumatora was meant to be the 7th Magypsy.
She's got the pink hair.
She's got the tomboyish girl, "in between sexes" nature of Magypsies.
She even has a color theme when she names herself Violet.
She was meant to die when you pulled the final needle after the Claus fight.
But they fucking CHANGED IT because it'd be "too sad"
That is bullshit. Kumatora is the 7th Magypsy and she should DIE after you pull that needle.
To answer your question, the bossfight that gave me the most feelz? honestly Psycho Mantis in MGS1. Have to feel sorry for the guy.
the end of the W101
mfw
>our quest for justice will last far longer than today
We'll get a second W101 right guys?
I wish we got a proper Asgore genocide fight.
One where he smashes your [FIGHT] button instead and you have to talk him into suicide because, to be honest, the stuff that happened to his kingdom is mostly the fault of him and toriel.
this was fucking ridiculously heartbreaking
>Neutral Undyne (when you kill her)
I found Neutral Undyne's death amusing and I chuckled a bit.
I wish Genodyne melted too.
wait.
I wish you could replay Geno, and tell Undyne that all her friends end up dying as well, and she couldn't save them.
Asgore was a complete chump in comparison by the time you got to him though. Maybe that would be different if he had absorbed human souls like he was supposed to, but he didn't because Alphys was supposed to tell him to do that but she ran off to go kill herself instead.
Okay. Let me spell it out for you.
Not everyone in this game is a complete irredeemable bitchcunt.
Amongst the trashmobs, the only really shit ones are Loox (it actively picks a fight with you), Chilldrake (fuck trapping you to listen to shit jokes - this was the first NPC I killed in my first run), and Onionsan (who isn't even fightable).
The rest either have good intenions, attack you out of fear, or are just doing their job.
With the Loox, it's honestly funny to pick on them, beat them to low HP and run.
With Chilldrake, you can resolve the fight by heckling him until he runs off crying. Can take a lot of turns, but so worth it.
Onionsan, despite him being completely shit and NEEDING to be killed, is not killable.
The rest are just misguided and can be shown mercy.
As for the bosses:
Toriel has good intentions (with which she paves the road to hell thrice over)
Papyrus is a top tier bro
Undyne has respectable courage and determination
Muffet ... honestly I can't blame her for anything she did.
Mettaton just wants a good show, and honestly I can empathise with that
Asgore made some mistakes but there's a chance for redemption. plus the problems are like 60% toriel's fault and only 40% his, cut him some slack.
"Bla bla muh ded kids" Toriel just kill one of the little fuckers YOURSELF, take their power, and use it to either go loot 6 souls and shatter the barrier or strengthen the ruins gate to protect any other kids. If they're gonna die anyway, better it be on your terms, you're just as much of an indecisive kingdomruiner as your exhusband, only HE didn't lock himself away from his own kingdom.
Flowey you psychologically damage by sparing. Sparing him is the cruel option.
Asriel isn't quite as bad as Onionsan. For one, he's actually pretty powerful and he DOES use his power to get what he wants. Unfortunately, what he wants is "muh lonliness muh feels so sad, pls fix muh feelz".
Alphys told him to do it and Flowey told him to do it, he just didn't because he's an idiot
It doesn't even matter though, when you kill Sans you have the power to destroy the entire goddamn universe. Asgore and Souls wasn't going to stop you either way
He probably DID absorb the human souls.
Do you know how hard you hit him?
99 fucking billion.
For comparison, Omega Flowey only has a health of about 20,000.
He had all 6 souls and you almost oneshot him.

The only way Asriel's boss fight is emotional in any way other than being drawn out of you with sad music and attacks is if you understood the context he was in and what's really going on on your own side. That's where the "Chara is the Narrator" idea really starts to make sense and actually enhances the game if you ascribe to it. If you understand all this info and then went into the Asriel fight, it might've been a FAR more emotional fight than it actually was.
I coulnd't bring myself to kill zeke, the way he takes like 4 shocks before falling
also he kinda looks like rich evans in that picture
...
Here.
That's nearly 100 billion damage.
That's enough to kill over 40,000 Genodynes, or at least 20,000 Omega floweys.
I'd hope it's emotional seeing as you can't possibly lose.
>that tumblr post
Nigger that is long as fuck and really interesting stuff. Thanks for posting this, now I have something to do for the next half hour.
Easy as fuck but Grigori alone is worth that shit.
How is killing off Kumatora at the very end of the game helps the story in anyway especially when she just kinda became a background character halfway through the story?
I second this notion. And not just the final boss, but literally every bosa in that game
Makes kumafags sad.
I tried killing Deionarra in Planescape Torment.
She was FUCKING ANGRY
even killing fucking undyne is more emotional than that piece of shit i just met 10 minutes ago and now is trying to kill me because LOL ITS JUST A GAME FOR HIM XD (WAIT NVM HES ACTUALLY VERY LONELY LETS FEEL BAD!!! >.
fuck off and your link to tumblr i got everything i expected from this game and im still dissapointed dont try to make me like that shitty bossfight, it was shallow through and through and the chara shit is overall bad writing
>Being this fucking stupid.
Just...just give up.
>Muffet ... honestly I can't blame her for anything she did.
>Mettaton just wants a good show, and honestly I can empathise with that
jesus christ, look at him, look at him and laugh
this game is basically "edgy characters that want to kill you but in the end they had some shallow emotional plot behind them that somehow made them likable"
This. The fight is cool looking and different from the others, has amazing music, but that's it. I didn't care much for a guy i only knew from 2 monster dialogues and a few video tapes.
>People actually got emotional for a boss you met the last 20 minutes of the game.
I'll never understand this.
Playing Days and then looking at the beginning of KH2 Roxas had a hard 1 year life.
My hylian
cmon user
Why couldn't I save him
It made me feel a lot of emotions alright.
>half of Flowey's backstory and characterisation is in the final portion of Genocide
>nothing suggests that playing the edgemaster route will give you any story at all
>if you spare Flowey in Neutral he'll tell you how to get Pacifist
>most of the True Lab tapes tell you more about Chara than Asriel
>even Asriel's last words at the garden are about Chara
True Pacifist explains Genocide. Genocide explains Neutral. Pacifist fails to explain itself. What a clusterfuck of storytelling
No choices in a Metroid game user.
youtube.com
Hell the entire fucking final half of the game where every major supporting character dies is more emotional than asriel
Actually with the amount of stuff they found in that post it looks more like Toby intended for a lot of it to be true but didn't explain it all well enough. I think it's actually pretty smart.
>that moment when Vorkken finally called Red by his actual name
I don't know why it got to me so hard.
Yeah, the fight against the boss was harsh. I felt kinda bad for just cheesing her with a shotgun the whole bossfight.
I have to try
>Has next to no build up, just shows up at the very end and becomes relevant all of a sudden and you're expected to care
>Impossible to lose
>Even if you ignore the fact that it's impossible to lose, the fight isn't all that hard or impressive
This piece of shit and the overtly saccharine true ending in general kind of soured the game for me
I dropped acid and watched the Asriel fight on YouTube. I cried like a motherfucker
youtube.com
Reminder that Undertale stole all it's ideas from Bravely Default and Bravely Second.
I'd say the end of Armored Core 3 just about blew me away, emotionally. If only because of the intense buildup.
>fighting in grey mechanical halls and arenas
>even open cities are underground and bleak
>you finally beat back the Controller, whose termination opens the way to the outside
>all you see is a single cutscene, that of the outside world, which for the first time in several hundred years, looks healthy and alive, as opposed to before the great destruction
It didn't need some gay narration or kids crying about how their feelings hurt, or some gruff guy talking about patriotism or whatever garbage these kids are hopped up on these days. It was to the point without any distraction.
>emotional
>do absolute nothing until win
>that generic music
nah , not even close to the best of the bunch
MGS 4 last battle , MGS3 , Mother 3 final boss , DS1 fox example.
...
Is there anything Undertale didn't plagiarize at this point?
