Weapon fusion and alchemy
Magic in a modern setting
>weapon customization
>hunger and thirst
It never really feels like true survivalism, it just ups tedium to ridiculous levels.
This. I want a fucking game where I can change parts of the gun properly, not some put a foregrip on it shit like battlefield or "lol a m9 would work with a AR reciever" that homefront the shitotion has.
It would probably be a licensing nightmare though
>fast travel
nigga what?
>game has weapon customization
>weapon mounted flashlights are completely fucking useless
Video game equivalent of this.
What about Shadowrun and it's "magic in cyberpunk setting"?
Randomly generated anything.
Tbh i dont think anygame can yet accomplish true open world with the technology we currently have
Shadowrun an Bloodlines both do magic in modern setting well
Dwarf Fort has basically randomly generated everything and it's pretty amazing.
The only game I can think of with a good weapon mounted flashlight is maybe Rust, seeing as most other sources of light eat up fuel.
>Night and Day system
>in most games
I think Left 4 Dead did random generation just fine. There were some scripted things of course or things that were more likely to happen one place then another, but you could still turn a fucking corner and have a tank just sitting there.
Not that user but Shadowrun is fucking cash.
Can't say much for the vidja but the tabletop game itself is a lot of fun.
>Destructable Environments
Tabletop is insane. It's practically a heist game. A shame none of the vidya versions capture this.
fast travel is garbage, unless it's in-world (not enough games have trains, airports, etc. that are meaningful)
>each ingame minute is a second in real time
I liked shadowrun on the 360. Basically counterstrike with neat things like teleporting through walls and gliders. iirc, it had really good netcode
>Switching directions with gravity
VVVVVV got it right. Games like Sonic Adventure 2... Not so much.
Then I really recommend you check out escape from tarkov.
Open World is not, nor has it ever been, nor will it ever be, a good concept.
Especially nowadays
I remember when people were bored of platformer collect-a-thons, but modern "open-world" games are even worse. I can't believe people are actually having fun with all those games with basic gameplay moving around the map collecting derivative "treausures" to spend on even more OP and control-taking skills...
>Switching directions with gravity
Nigga play Gravity Rush
I have. That was done well, too.
"open world" is impossible to define. if you're defining open world as ubisoft collectathons tho i agree
Fallout 1 + 2, Unreal world and Dwarf Fortress to name a few.
>Fallout 1 +2
You have no idea what Open World means.
Enlighten me
>each weapons class gets a skill tree
>pistols are always the best
