Because Obsidian actually gave a shit when they made it.
IM GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIN UNDUR
Bethsda gives a shit too, you know. It's just that the shit they give is the game.
The story in 3 was better
...
Why are Bethesda games so ugly and play so clunkily?
The animations, textures and models look really and the textures for environments are just slapped together with no blending at all.
There are bigger open world games with less budget that look and play better.
When will the Fallout 4 new vegas mod be made? Compress all of new vegas into Fallout 4 engine?
>comfy
I want this meme to end.
Because after you make it out of the handholdey beginning of the game, you're pretty much free to do whatever you feel like. You can take the game at any pace and style you like. It's really hard to get bored of that. You can role all sorts of different characters, and complete quests in all sorts of different ways.
Each playthrough is unique and varied.
My only gripe with this game is that it feels very obvious I'm play a Bethesda game. On a different engine with better graphics, physics, and animation, this would be my GotYAY.
>walking through the wasteland with fast travel disabled during night
>stop as footsteps are heard coming up from the side
>turn and see the flicker of a campsite and three Vipers running my way
>pull out a .38 revolver and shoot while running towards cover
>take out one and duck behind a rock
>reload and inject a stimpack
>pop out and shoot down the second
>third is bearing down
>no time to reload
>pull out combat knife and start attacking
>third goes down but not before crippling a leg
>loot the bodies and wander over to their campfire
>sit at the log and fix the limb with a stimpack
>look out and see the lights of Vegas shining bright
The game was too comfy
Because some no name arms merchant has more character and depth than any named character in 4
>tfw Tale of Two Wastelands
>come out of the Vault
>Immediately buy a drink at Megaton
>Logically my character would really never have a drink before
>Have him smoke a cigarette, since everyone seems to do it outside and he's never done that before
>Have him drink and smoke progressively more as the game goes on
>Get to the point where I'm slogging it from place to place just to get a drink and killing raiders for their smokes
>By the time I get to Vegas I'm constantly drunk and chainsmoking
I fucking roleplayed an alcoholic.
I wish there was a mod to die from liver failure.
BIG IRON
>no name arms merchant
It's starting wwith capitals so it's his name.
Arms Merchant,
>his
that's a girl ya dingus
And by no name I meant that she's no important enough to be given a distinct name, so she's just generic.
But this generic character whose only purpose in the game is to sell you weapons and ammo on the rare occasion you actually stop at the 188 has more depth and character than any fallout 4 character. She has a backstory and distinct personality, all for someone you may only see once or twice in an entire playthrough.
Makes Bethesda look fucking pathetic
You forgot the last part
>get ambushed by a deathclaw who was waiting in the wings
>pick up Betsy from Freeside Gate
>trundle around the wasteland murdering fucks
>so used to the weight limit and not hoarding so nothing gets picked up
>she goes completely unused
>just gets stuck on things and takes ages to catch up and gets in the way
>can't even tune her radio to Mojave Music instead of Radio New Vegas
Welp
>hoarding stuff to raise caps
>have 2 followers
>both are almost filled with crafting misc, food-aid and ammo I'm going to sell
mojave, more problems
>been playing FO4
>horrid writing makes me want to replay NV
>reinstall NV
>install go-to mods
>jsawyer that shit up
>boot game
>stiff as fuck animations
>sloppy unresponsive gunplay
>everything just looks and feels so damn awkward
>get through helping the powder gangers take over Goodsprings
>get bored and quit after realizing it would take me until 18 at least before I can get the Ranger armor
God dammit.

She HAS been given a distinct name. Arms Merchant.
I might get shat on, but FO4 genuinely looks good. Animations are fluid and decent, lighting is pretty great, despite shoddy shadowing, and gun play feels a lot nicer than previous games. Textures aren't as great but the overall aesthetic and the way they implemented new graphical additions makes the game genuinely look really nice.
FO4 suffers mostly from shit writing and from having it's RPG mechanics dumbed down even more than they were in Skyrim.
>all the weapon retexture projects crapped out before they got to Energy Weapons
>my beloved raifu will forever be the ugly duckling
