Western games suck at making good boss fights.

If I were to ever make a list of the 100 greatest boss fights of all time, I can very easily name an endless list of great boss fights to come from Japanese developers.

But from the west? Very few.

Maybe some of the God of War bosses. Maybe Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat. Maybe the bosses of Doom.

Otherwise, it's hard to even come up with 10 franchises with good bosses from western developers.

I don't know about the other user you're talking to, but I agree with what you ranted about in principle. But there are some issues.

For starters, feminism isn't "I am a human and not your slave" anymore. It used to be, but as a large it simply is not. I'm sure I don't need to give examples on how fourth-wave of feminism is setting women back. The only issue regarding fourth-wave of feminism I want to talk about right now, is the driving reason behind why so many people are latching on to modern feminism. Personal gain. It's women, and men, trying to use their gender (or their 'identified' gender) for financial/personal gain. It's not actually about equality in any way. And that "personal gain" is important, because it ties heavily into why women are seen so often with mistrust and malcontent within gaming. Video games used to be a very exclusive boys club, and not willingly. Growing up I would have loved for more girls to play video games with me, but they didn't want to. The primary reason gaming has been and still is male dominated isn't even a sexism thing, it's just that women aren't as interested. Before you get into anything else, that is important to remember.

So women are still pretty rare in games, I play a lot of online games from FPS to MMO and I'd say I encounter like 1 real woman for every 50 to 100 men. And it's like that for most of us. I'm sure a number of "men" I've played with were just females not in voice and not mentioning gender, but the amount of females in voice greatly smaller than the number of males. So where do gamers get exposed to females that causes such strong opinions to form about them? It's not the actual games, it's outside of them. Youtube, Twitch, attention whores on Steam, you name it. There is a horde of women using their gender to profit off of horny 15 year old gamers. Whether it be shaking their butt on Twitch, showing cleavage on Youtube, or just literally begging for video games on Steam.

It's disgusting, and men will never treat female gamers equally until this trend of women trying to exploit them for personal gain stops. Because you see that more often than you see just honest female gamers, and more importantly you never hear about how those honest female gamers generally get treated normally.

A lot has to change, on both sides. The issue won't be solved simply by talking down to men and telling them they're sexist bigots.
