Rare was at the height of their popularity, and went downhill afterwards. Of course people would flock to their last decent installment. Despite being inferior to contemporary games, some even on the same console, like Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.

If it can capture enough of M64 or BanjoKazooie in its collectathon, big multiple worlds and colorful characters, I believe it will fill a niche that hasn't even been attempted by developers for a long time.

It remains to be seen if that niche is profitable or large enough to try catering to.
