What do you think? What kind of missions would you make?
Metal Gear Solid V Getting Custom Side Ops
Ones where you can't use Quiet.
>not using objectively the best buddy
rereations of old mgs games in the new engine
Can't wait for Konami to ruin this with some microtransactions jewery. I stopped playing this game after that one patch that transferred your shekels to Konami's servers.
>wanting more reminders of how and why Kojimbo ruined this game
Seducing Ocelot
they're just polishing a turd at this point
This is probably the best use.
Are there enough dark/building like enviroments though?
>Still no online co-op despite the game pretty much being set up for it
if this is true, then holy fucking shit. but Konami hates us, so no way will this ever get released.
>rereations of old mgs games in the new engine
sign me the fuck up
This is what I've been hoping for all along
Just dont use her? I dont use any buddies on free roam. More fun that way
This. His fultons go to his base, mine go to mine. No buddies, just another operator. How fucking hard is that?
UGC is always 97% shit.
the game is dead, if we need anything we need the last mission to be finished and added and we need access to a 2nd save file to start the story again with ease
I hope so. A lot of those bases could use some fences at least
>make new profile of console/save folder on pc
>start new game
Game is already boring as fuck since it's Oblivion/Skyrim villages.
i'm on ps4, yeah it is not that hard I delete my save and turn off cloud saving, but I actually want to have 2 different saves that i can switch to with ease, 1 so i can carry on developing and one so I can replay the story anytime I want.
yeah, make a new user profile. aint got to delete shit. boom, easy new save file
Game needs custom map support for this to ever catch on. I've been to afganistan and africa enough times that I no longer care about either of them. Its a shame the game is near impossible to mod with assets not from the game itself
Call me again when we get custom maps.
Because this game really needed some actual levels instead of the same outposts over and over again.
I'd try to make missions that are awesome, similar to missions in the main game such as...uh, and also...hmm.
Wouldn't side ops alone be enough of a reminder of how and why it was ruined?
>make a new user profile
suppose, I do have a guest account anyway.
wont be able to use the FOB I guess as it needs PSN
custom maps will never be new levels and will only be modified same outposts over and over again with the same old objectives. So a mission creator will only benefit people who enjoy playing mgsv. Its not for people who are still triggered by the story.
now all we need is coop
side ops are only bad because Free roam lacks
>armored vehicle patrol
>jeep vehicle patrol
>helicopter patrol
>reinforcements
essentially there is nothing to discourage you from setting off the alarms. If they restore those things I think completing side ops would be a lot more fun
This sounds great, but its probably going to be like the contracts in Hitman Absolution.
>extract this container from this area of the map
>kill this guy [total stealth]
>destroy sahelalilulelopus with only a handgun
Thats the kind of shit you should expect from Konami.
I don't think it would benefit a lot
Unless the menu lets you drop on an external custom map, there's nothing innovative that can be done
And even recreating past MGS games is gonna take forever
Nah, 12 types for 160 side ops is why they're bad.
>using buddies at all
How to spot someone who has never played a MGS before V: the post.
I wish there were more side ops. Even if there are just a few different types
So? Why should you cock yourself in a pretty random open world where you need to call in resupplies every time you want to change a camo pattern or a world that has so little equipment to find lying around?
What are you even saying? What does any of what you said have to do with using a buddy?
But for the record, the open world isn't random at all. Not even a little. There aren't even any enemies or animals outside of the little 4x4 outposts. Not sure what game you're playing. Also if you have EVER had to change camo mid-mission, you're fucking awful at the game. You literally need desert fox and woodland for the entirety of the game, that's it.
Wth are you trying to say? Youre bad at mgsv?
>there has never been instances of NPC support in any MGS besides V
MGS before V: the post
No, there hasn't, you fucking retard. Definitely not to the extent of MGSV.
What's the most relatable instance of a buddy system in previous MGS games? Snake covering you with a sniper in the plant of MGS2? Sure, and he wasn't fucking teleporting around the map and spotting enemies for you, nor was he there for the entire fucking game.
What else? An injured Eva who does literally nothing except take your food? Perhaps you're referring to Meryl who simply walks around with you?
>there has never been an instance of helpful NPC buddy support that isnt just there for you to save or escourt
wow, you have never ever even ever even played MGS before
Dog and quiet are both a bit much. Dog trivializes the marking mechanic (so does quiet but not as much), and quiet can literally kill or tranq everyone.
You'd have to be a fucking nerd not to love D. Walker though. 10/10 would fun again
In previous games you kept what you took or found. You were able to change camo on the fly in 3 and 4. Buddies do half the shit that gear you got collected in previous games. Open world is shit to traverse if you do not have a buddy vehicle on the demand like the Walker and Horse. Fucking horse is a nightmare to vehicles because of its shitting on command ability. D walker can be equipped with anti armour weapons if you want to rock a sniper rifle.
I do enjoy D-Walker user. Running around with a flamethrower and a machete is straight fun. The problem is that every MGSV apologist feels as though Quiet and Joost are the best things about the game.
if this is true the game will be fucking saved
>mfw remaking shadow moses with the editor
Are console versions going to get this as well?
That's gunna be pretty fun. The gameplay base s good even if nothing else is.
DD is not a wolf, by the way.
I'm 110% not sure what you're saying. Try taking a 3rd grade english class and learn to format a sentence.
guess we'll have to make our own!'
you got it wrong, it's not a map editor, you can just modify enemy behaviour and position and pack them up in a custom side op on the same old maps of mgs5
She is an OP fan service. But at least she was a bit more interesting add on considering main goals of the game is you collecting everyone you find.
So anyone know what happened to the nuke stuff that went on? What became of it?
True. I just wish there was more story to her than "she's a shoehorned love interest, look at dem titties". The pre-release fan theories about her being related to Sniper Wolf were better than the actual backstory that we got.
You get a cutscene if your platform has 0 nuclear bombs on FOBs.
holy shit if they pull this off well I might pick it back up again for a few 100 hours
Wow, cool your jets, sparky. Of course not to the extent of V because non of the past entries were as open as it.
It was meant to accommodate different play styles. Personally, they make grinding repetitive side ops bearable. If you don't want to use them, don't.
Have you played 4?
He's talking about the world nuke count.
That's what happens when the world nuke count reaches 0.
There is literally not a single fucking NPC that supports you in MGS4. What, you think the fucking rebels are considered support? They're cannon fodder, they literally cannot hit the PMCs. I am convinced you have never actually played a MGS before.
Hahaha, well memed my friend1!
I try not to use buddies and I stick with the camo I pick in the sortie. I pick ammo and weapons from my opponents. I deploy with a jeep.
In previous games you were not limited by the number of gear you got to carry around. If you found a RPG you kept it, you found an assualt rifle you kept it, if you found grenades any type you kept them all. Phantom Pain limits your options. When you start a main mission in free roam all the gear you hoarded while roaming gets taken away and is replaced by your main load out that might not even be suitable for this exact mission.
there must be ways to recreate the shadow moses incident within MGSV
Maybe the weather system and the lighting can be modified into some deja vu-like mission?
It's called GZ
>GZ will never be bundled with and included with TPP helping have a more complete narritive
almost every one I know irl skipped GZ and went straight to TPP and quit after the hospital because it was too confusing. fucking normies
Liberal game design is cancerous. It's a lot more interesting to work around restrictive systems.
>Starting on the FIFTH GAME IN THE SERIES
They deserve it
Not even the D Horse? You are shooting yourself in the foot by doing this you know. The mission extracting Emerich mission would be a pain in the ass without D Horse if you can't find a jeep or a truck by the power plant to get to the Soviet base.
>post yfw some absolute madman makes Chapter 3 in this shit
In the lush African forest area? Sure but how would they implement the entire Mother Base staff fighting Liquid in Metal Gear?
you'd think so, but it's really not the case.
WE'LL MAKE OUR OWN CHAPTER 3
KONAMI SENT US TO HELL, BUT WE'RE GOING EVEN DEEPER
TAKE BACK EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE LOST
how would they implement the entire Mother Base staff fighting Liquid in Metal Gear?
just cut it. Its one of the few things Id be ok with. As long as I can conclude the story.
Miller 'rallies' the troops for the normal Sally fight. Its just pequod and supply drops.
fuck. also down for this.
Am I the only one who thinks GZ was better. It had such a great atmosphere and story , even the tapes were much more interesting
>side op 51 Kingdom of Flies
Its mission and environment were better than basically 99% of TPP (I'm struggling to think of anything better in TPP but I won't say 100% for sure).
It's definitely better self contained, but could do with some of the QoL improvements TPP has.
If this is actually getting added, then count me in.
>yfw it's paid DLC
>implying it wasnt cut in production
overall its a better game than TPP. It does more with less.
The base is better for sneaking in. The objectives feel better, and are more challenging to complete. They do more with less. Not to mention the Save the Intel Agent mission is balls to the walls exciting.
TPP could learn a thing or two from GZ
I'd let Konami take a hot dump in my mouth for this so it really isnt an issue
>"you can play 1 custom side ops every 3 hours, but you can speed up the cooldown with MB coins"
Nobody is implying that. Kojima talked about a level editor pre release.
It's a new article and Konami still give TPP updates.
Save the intel agent?
Metal gear?
GIB MONIES PLS
>Implying Doge isn't more broken for pure stealth.
Gotta admit, for something with so many microtransactions, they let you get a lot of shit for free over time.
>still no CO-OPS
Its not free. Other people are paying for it
Yep.
He wanted to shitpost and got made to look stupid and backpedaled
At least he's cute, unlike Quiet.
It was
It had a beginning, middle, and end from both a story and gameplay perspective. Enemies felt better because it didn't give you vast amounts of empty space to reveal that they were blind and dumb as fuck, instead put them at every corner and chokeholds while constantly patrolling. Map design actually existed, which made it fun as fuck to replay and see new ways to go around every single time. The whole place had so many secrets to reveal and was genuinely interesting and fun to explore.
I mean fuck it even made you work for the OP guns in every mission, instead of say unlocking all of them from completing the main mission once and letting you equip them to cheese through the rest of the game, a la TPP.
Goddamn my friends and I played so much Peace Walker because of the co-op. If MGSV had it I'm sure they'd all get it.
>there are people who are still playing MGSV/still care about MGSV
Jesus, you people are either in serious denial or you need to get some new fucking games to play.
Just let it go, user.
>backpedaled
Lay off the buzzwords, buckaroo. I said nothing in response that contradicted my original post.
I still stick by it that it's not entirely new to the series.
>Interesting new feature is teased
>People talk about a game again
Weird how that works
>KONAMI SENT US TO HELL, BUT WE'RE GOING EVEN DEEPER
>still blaming Konami for the mess of MGSV
...
