A few years ago this was one of the most universally reviled games on Sup Forums, now I barley hear about it. 3 years later, what does Sup Forums think of the DMC reboot?

Bad DmC game but one of the best stylish action games out.
Got it in the latest humble bundle and tried it on my new gaming pc. It looks really good and plays really nice. Story and characters aren't a problem to me since I just skip them.
It's still bad
It's like how people don't talk about TORtanic or Thi4f. Eventually the discussion runs dry and people stop talking about it.
It's still shit. Pales in comparison to previous games in the series in terms of everything.
In the context of the series it's almost shameful.
On its own it's a functional but mediocre action game. If it weren't for the name everybody would have forgotten about it a week after launch.
Fuck you
I still hate it with my entire soul and being.
bad story, gameplay starts great but gets repetitive after a while and the metagame becomes boring. so, mediocre gameplay overall.
soundtrack is edgy but fits well.
superb, fucking fantastic art direction wasted on this shit game. so much attention to the details and composition of the image in this game, it's a shame the end product wasn't better.
I played through DMC 1, 3, 4 and reboot in the span of about 2 weeks.
I really liked reboot. It had gameplay issues but I honestly thought new Dante was a lot more likable then older Dante. It also had a lot of really unique level designs, and the disembodied head of Bill O'Reilly was awesome.
IMHO I would rank 3 > 4 > reboot > 1 because the gameplay of 3 and 4 is just too solid, but honestly reboot was great.
>reboot better than 1
you can fuck off with your opinion back to /leddit/
its a terrible game
even the DE
There's nothing left to talk about this game got buried under the rug. I did like Definitive Edition version of this game and that made it more in line with the DMC I grew up with gameplay wise, DMC4 SE could have used some of DE's extra modes like must style mode.
>saying leddit
>implying fake board meme
>threadly reminder it only got so much hate -mostly- due to series association
threadly reminder that it doesnt change the fact that its still a bad game
FUCK YOU
More content than 4
More stylish than 2
Not as good atmosphere as 1
Can't touch 3 in any way.
I can't let this go, what is meta game?
Probably helps that it was a Resident Evil game at first but I love how unique Devil May Cry 1 felt, stylish action game yet still felt like an atmospheric horror game. We're never going to see something like that again, even the enemies are memorable as fuck for looking like something out of a horror movie.
It was ok, about on the same level as DMC4. But neither are as good as DMC3. Also, it was really damn short. Instead of adding a bunch unnecessary weapons, they should've added a few more levels/stages.
Too bad those RE camera angles stayed. That was a mess.
Same as I think for the 1998 US Godzilla movie.
What the fuck were they thinking?
basically, break the game down into smaller parts. the game is short cycles of game mechanics that reward the player.
Mechanically it's not bad, gameplay is enjoyable and the game has good art direction somehow.
It's biggest flaw is being called Devil May Cry and thereof being a big fuck you to DMC fans.
One of the funniest games I've played, even though it was unintentional. But the enemy design ranges from boring to irritating with most enemies going under irritating.
The weapon switching was mildly interesting, but the guns other than ebony and ivory were kind of shit, especially the revenant.
Overall an okay game, not as bad as DMC2 but not as good as DMC1 either.
>More content than 4
is great, can't wait for the sequel
The special edition was much better. Still a mediocre action game that nobody would still talk about without the DMC brand
