You know what I mean. Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. It's just so fucking comfy and magical looking. Like a nightmarish winter wonderland. Its also really well connected and fun to explore.

Literally half the level is just a straight line with some rooms off to the side. Most boring, overpraised level in the the entire Souls series

Probably Tower of Latria. I liked the atmosphere so much I would just wander around killing the mindflayers for the fun of it. I liked the Nightmare Frontier in BB a lot too. Just the design though the actual area was total dogshit. I liked how it was just a fucked up world that was the foundation for all the nightmares. Nothing in any of the Dark Souls have really been that impressive to me.

Latria, Shrine of Storms, Ariamis, Eleum Loyce, Sen's Fortress, and Nightmare of Mensis are the best levels in Soulsborne generally. Not to say the others are objectively bad, just that everything else is preference.

Tower of Latria for atmosphere

Second would probably be Painted World.

Third is probably Sens Fortress or Grand Archives.

Personal favorite: Duke's Archives and Grand Archives. I love libraries.

Sen's Fortress is the most interesting in terms of design. It really emphasizes the dungeon crawling part of the series that tends to get overlooked.

The DLC of 2 was good, you shouldn't forget that.
Nightmare of Mensis generally was better in every respect than Latria besides the fantastic boss idea for 3-3. Latria is fantastic but still second to that.
