I played the game three times and choose all three girls. In the end, Bianca turned out to be the best. But I prefer my kids with black hair.

Well, in the SNES version, Bianca was the only wife. Nera was added in the PS2 version, and Deborah in the DS version.

Your choice of wife really doesn't matter much. Since you probably noticed, you don't use your wife in battle much. Its like 5 hours after your wedding and the major events where you get separated from her. And once you get your kids, both of them are better than your wife (and yourself). And of course, monsters are better than any human character.

Bianca actually says you should go with Flora because she is nice and has money. Which was the major deciding factor for many people (including me). That whole selfless behavior and Bianca thinking about you over her own happiness, yadda yadda.

If you don't like that though, you have two other choices.

You don't get classes until some 30 hours into the game. Always have 99 medicinal herbs and plenty of money on you because there comes a point in the story which you can't go back to a town to buy items, but its the place you need healing items the most. And just use a guide for what classes you should focus on, since the game doesn't do an adequate job explaining what classes lead to the next tier.
