Dominions - That is one game i wish i had the courage to start playing. There is enough information on the wiki to begin playing ?

I would think so. The wiki does seem in-depth enough. I haven't tried the game myself, but I'd like to.

I ask that because the wiki and information on Aurora 4x is horrible. The game seems to be good.

Who do I into Dwarf Fortress?

The Aurora 4X wiki is in fact down right now.

It sucks. I'm still learning the game, but now I have to search the forums to find stuff I need.

What game gives me the Redstone experience of Minecraft?

>want to get into dwarf fortress
>can't handle the graphics

How do I into Distant Worlds

members.iinet.net.au/~morty/Getting_Started_with_Dwarf_Fortress.pdf

You can use tilesets. There are many, many tilesets out there because people had the same complaint as you.

there is ton of visualizer mods to dwarf. But i think there none of them in real time.

I think the usual advice is to start the game with most things automated, then turn off automation to learn how to do it.

The automation is quite good, so people have fun games picking and choosing which things to automate, and which things to handle themselves.

Thanks, will try that.

I've only just gotten it and seen this thread, thought I might as well ask.

You can't handle this graphics?

Oh yes, I was watching this a little while ago. What's the status?

We need a really good space sim out there right now. Elite: Dangerous isn't cutting it.

This is dwarf fortress ???
HOw ?

You can finally play through Stonesense? Sweet

i have watched a video of a guy doing the full take off procedure.

35 minutes

I still have to see more things

Wait, is that MOUSE SUPPORT

ME GUSTA
GIMME GIMME

...

Honestly, I'm more interested in the flight mechanics. I know some people want this stuff, but is it realistic for a space sim to have such granular management stuff?

youtube.com/watch?v=vziIgAtD66s

I feel like future pilots will be able to handle this stuff with computers (e.g. everything will be automated). But I do like some elements of systems management in space sims - I just don't know about that much.

>me gusta

Holy fuck kill yourself faggot redditor

What's OpenTTC like? Is it a /biz/ game?

I would enjoy if i had a space sim set-up. For me at least i was only able to enjoy sim races like rfactor2 with a good steering well.

It'd say it's more about space management and load optimization than it is about purely /biz/ things. But, you do make money in that game, and you can make a lot of it - and you can even shrewdly out-compete your competition.

>patrician
You mean -literally- autistic right?

Did you even look at the OP image?

Yep, only spergs like Uli would play shit like this.

HELP How do I get Balance of Power: 1990 working?

It's a Windows 3.1 application. It used to work by just clicking the .exe in Windows 7, but now I'm using 8.1, and it isn't supported anymore.

DOSBox won't immediately work because it's not a DOS game - but would I need to run Windows 3.1 in DOSBox, then run this game?

Doesn't Uli spend his time playing games like Bubsy 3D, though, and picking them apart?

just read the manual

whoa

>but would I need to run Windows 3.1 in DOSBox, then run this game?
Yes. It doesn't take too long to install, and frankly having a 3.1 installation is really useful for early-90's PC games.
Alternatively you can download a VM and install 95/98 onto it.

Okay, I guess I'll give it a go. I use DOSBox a lot, but I never went the next step in trying to run Windows 3.1 in it.

Gmod wiremod

Why is redstone so horrible in Minecraft? It was such an amazing idea, but Notch implemented it in the most clunky, space-consuming way possible. I mean, I know the game is discretized into huge blocks, but I feel like they could have done a better job with Redstone.

Please don't let the thread die

Bump

I can confirm that TIS-100 is a complex game

Really it's not a game, it's a programming challenge

It's time to let go.

silent hunter III, best silent hunter

So, will HoI4 be casualized garbage?

If Stellaris and EU IV is anything to go by, definitely.

truth

I've been wondering. How do you control the sub in the silent hunter games? Does it support a joystick?

How are submarines even controlled in real life?

>Controlling Sub with joystick

Jesus.

Hey, I have no idea. I like messing around in sim games - even for vehicles I have no idea about in real life.

Basically it's a lot more hands off than that. You set a speed, depth, and a rudder position and then the sub moves. It sounds unintuitive, but it is really very easy once you get the hang of it.

For long distances you can plot a course on the map and have the sub follow it.

what tileset is this?

someone respond this, im planning to get into DF now but i can't find for shit what graphics are these

Stonesense?

isn't stonesense just the isometric view mode?

i want the mouse support and the graphics, hell it even has tooltips to handhold, i really need it all, but can't find it online

I wish I knew. I've only been playing vanilla. I've been meaning to put Therapist on, though.
