I feel like wasting some money, but not too much. Are there any consoles I can collect for where the games aren't outrageously overpriced?
I feel like wasting some money, but not too much...
Buy an Everdrive if you want to play the games on the hardware but you don't feel like going into poverty to do it.

This tbqh fampai. Retro collecting is nice but if the games you want are more expensive than you want to pay, there's no shame in using a flash cart.
You're joking, right? If you can the console only for less than $100 nowadays you're lucky.
Already got a few, but I feel like getting real games.

Why does it say it costs $1000 if the price sticker says $4.99?
Sega Genesis is still a really easy console to collect for, for the most part.
its a mistake
>95% positive feedback
>selling a 5 dollar game for 1000
Why would Pokemon Red be worth so much?
It's an incredibly common game that sold millions of copies.
95% positive feedback actually isn't that good. Most reputable sellers are at least 99%. When you move that much merchandise, it takes a lot of negative feedback to get you below that.
It's RARE EXPENSIVE FUN L@@K
N64, most of its standard games are around 30
$$$MINT CONDITION WOW!$$$
Master System is still really cheap, but if you live in America the library isn't as good, so you'll have to import.

>95%

Mega Drive or PS2.
God damn. Since when did collecting for SNES become so expensive? Most consoles are 100+ now
Genesis is still fairly cheap, as well as a fair bit of NES.
Most everything up to Wii has collectable titles now. PS2 has the dot hack games which are absurd. Any Nintendo first-party title on any system is typically worth at minimum $20 today.
Gamecube is skyrocketing right now, so I'd avoid that.
Don't buy boxed stuff, it's the worst fucking addiction.
Sega is probably your best bet, as they aren't terribly hard to find, and the Dreamcast has no DRM.
The last generation is usually always the cheapest and most available. You could pick up tons of PS3 and 360 games for dirt cheap now at even Gamestop.
That's pretty fucking expensive for 15+ year old games
Even PS2 and Xbox games are pretty cheap. It's always Nintendo games that are a pain in the ass to collect.
If you can find me a copy of DefJam Fight for NY on PS2 that hasn't been destroyed by niggers I'll give you $100
In my experience, the hard part about collecting PS2/Xbox games is getting an actually good console. Most PS2's I've seen were in pretty bad shape and Xbox are pretty rare
I got an Xbox for $35 at a thrift store. It was a little dusty and needed a new DVD drive belt, but it was in great condition overall.
PS2s are easy to find in my area. Mine needed a little work on the DVD drive because it was noisy, but it works perfectly now. It really depends on where you look.
The slim PS2s that don't use a power brick are pretty much indestructable in my experience. Probably the best option there.

In Australia NES is painful to collect for.
>order PS1 game
>make sure to buy black label copy with manual and insert shown in photos/description
>game arrives in the mail
>platinum copy with missing front insert
Xbox Original?
The one major downside is that it's a bit of a pain to hook up a hard drive. It's possible but it's hard work, and unless you can find one of those aftermarket HD Pro shells you'll have a sloppy looking mess.
If you're gonna get a PS2 in this day and age, FreeMcBoot and HD loader are pretty much must-haves.
Also I think it only works with specific models of the PS2 Slim. With every Playstation console there are always tons of little revision versions. Do your research before you go and buy anything.
