>mom got me this for my birthday
And today it stands as one of my favourite games of all time.
This game is the sheer definition of everything a video game is meant to be.

Timesplitters 3 was better
That's the pal cover? Damn that looks cool
Funny thing OP, my friend was actually watching me play Banjo-Kazooie today, and it was his first time ever seeing someone play it.
Every little fragment, nook, and cranny of attention to detail he was awe-stricken by. He's someone who only recently really started playing games, and insists that B-K is the pinnacle of what videogaming is meant to be.
imo it's just a top-tier platformer.
It was a pretty lackluster sequel, user
Yeah it's way better than military meathead to appease murrikanas
(not saying cortez is shit tho)
Now that games are mass produced like hollywood movies we seldom get passionate developers
>It was a pretty lackluster sequel, user
How so? It was everything the second game was but even more.
Yeah that's been getting to me a little nowadays. I don't buy games too often now, but looking at people talk about Watch Dogs, Tom Clancy's "The Scam" as my brother calls it, and Evolve, it's just so fucking depressing.
There are still some good games out there. They just don't get marketed as much or get buried under all the indie trash that gives independent games a bad name.
I don't agree, it had a better campaign and it had kick ass online multiplayer.
If you played TS 1 and then played TS2 you would see the huge leap forward in game design. TS3 was pretty much TS2.5 and didn't add THAT much in terms of game design. I also prefer the levels, story mode and challenges in TS2
TS1 never made it to the gamecube so I have not played it.
It was linear garbage
This game was the perfect successor to Goldeneye 64 and Perfect Dark. I wish they still made objective based, open level design shooters like these.
Yeah, I feel you.
Like, I really started to get real downtrodden about games after playing Pneuma: Breath of Life when it was free on XBL. The Mrs. thought it was an amazing little game when she watched me beat it in 2 hours, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was just another walking sim with puzzles that I've seen so many times before.
Like, the game I was most excited for this year other than Dark Souls 3 was Unravel, that's how bad it's gotten.
Is the GameCube version severely gimped or something? I played through the Co op with my brother a few weeks ago and I couldn't believe all the commendations it got. It felt so unwieldy, unfinished, and cheesy to me, especially compared to 007/PD
Ps2 version is the best version I think. Not sure how the Gamecube one differs
The game never takes itself too seriously, which may be giving you that 'cheesy' vibe
Poop graphics mate and I think it's missing some mapmaker stuff
Unravel looks pretty good tho
I know. The game made by the creepiest fucking Scandinavian guy at E3 last year turns out to be the most interesting thing all 2016 for me, is what I'm saying.

>ends with everyone picking the monkey
Fuck you guys, I wanted to just be the Duckman.

I change my Siberia pick to Neo Tokyo actually. Gave me super creepy vibes.
Also the one with Harry Tipper and the 'T-MINUS 1 MINUTE' announcer. Fuck that bitch spooked me
Replace the 12 gauge with dual SPB90 and you're me
This was always a fucking problem. Even in my game group.
I remember seeing a small guy in a fishbowl. Always wanted to unlock him
Us bros gotta stick together
One day user.
One day.
It was pretty garbage.
Which is probably why TS2 isn't as well known as it should be. I'd put TS2 just above Perfect Dark in terms of best console shooters.
>tfw first time playing as a kid
>chicago level made me really feel like I was a detective in a noir
>no game has ever managed to make me feel like it did except max payne kinda
Always the best level for me. Are there any other FPS games that touch on noir themes?
The first two levels are in the new Home front game, so surely that's a good sign that they've got it running on next gen consoles.
>Favourite Character
The Ringmistress, those fishnet stockings are fucking hot as hell.
>Favourite level
Cathedral, hands down. I'm a sucker for old timey horror stuff.
>Favourite weapon
Tough one but I'll go with the electricity gun, that shit is dope

I'm just adding this one in for fun but I like the deathmatch mode where you get to collect coins from dead foes.

>My friend's face when he's a filthy monkey picker

Aren't you all forgetting something?
Modern EA

EA only published TS3, they had no part in developing it.

>You will never get to put your dick between Venus Starr's enormous tits
>Timesplitteres was canceled
>They decided to work on Homefront's sequel instead
What fucking retard thought that was a good idea?
The Xbox version was actually the best. Plus 4 player co op.
>Not buying Homefront just to play the first two Timesplitters 2 levels on PC
Yeah it's shit but it could be worse.
>Not buying Homefront just to play the first two Timesplitters 2 levels on PC
Wait wat? Please elaborate.
It's an easter egg in Homefront: the Revolution

They were actually bought out by crytek and renamed crytek uk. They worked on the mp for crysis 2 and on the main crysis 3 i think. I'm not sure they had much freedom.
This was the first game I ever played online on my ps2, it was amazing.
I always loved virus, just seeing 8ish guys sitting ontop of a ledge waiting for a virus to come through, shooting the shit out of him then waiting for them to do something more organized forcing everyone to flee off the ledge in a panic.
How'd they get permission to do it? I thought Crytek owned the rights?
>remember playing it as a kid when my cousin lent it to me
>for some reason i literally only ever played the shitty fucking arcade mode thinking it was all there was
>hated it and thought for years that people were jacking off over a glorified cartoony horde mode game
>recently found out there's a campaign and THAT'S what everyone loves
Is it still worth playing nowadays?
Future perfect had an average story mode that can't compare to 2's, less challenges/trial, less game modes, less things to unlock.
The only thing it did well was making the bots harder.

Future perfect was alot slower and more meaty than 2. I liked 2's arcadey feel.

He has damn fine taste. I see a great future for him.
>hey Crytek can we have our IP back to include as an easter egg in that homefront sequel nobody asked for

we could go back and forth all day
2 barely had a story. FP had one. But both games have their pros and cons.
>2 barely had a story
Thank you, I thought my 8 year old bran was just to stupid to understand/remember it at the time.
I had a lot of fun making my own story mode with the map editor. I have a memory card full of levels somewhere.

God yes. My friend described it to me before I had played TS2 and my mind went wild with imagining it, then when we actually played it it was just as good as I had imagined. Fucking amazing.
>Siberia

Oh fuck thats bliss
Split screen deathmatch, Ice Station, OHK, snipers only, no auto aim, TS1 Bank music. Most multiplayer fun I ever had on Gamecube.
>0:59
Music was absolute GOAT

>Nobody has posted scrapyard yet
It's like you guys don't like some Heavy industrial techno.
Jesus christ I forgot my link
>remember playing this with friends
>was the only one that always sucked because it was a console FPS and I'm shit at FPSs
>once decided to shit around by turning on one-hit kill mode and making bricks our only weapon
>kept missing everyone I ran past
>my one and only kill was on a friend who picked up an invisibility power up
Those were good times.
>It's a full match and you're the last uninfected
There was like one corridor you could camp in the entire map and it had no weapon pickups. Fucking tense shit.
I used to do a custom arcade mode where I would do max players with way more blue players as easy bots.
>capture the bag
>Ice station
>all of the bots as Cpt. Snow, Lt. Frost etc
>Grenade launchers only
>Notre Dame music
>The bridge at the blue spawn is just covered in fire as they run hopelessly up the hill to their death.
top game
I loved its aiming system, where you can move the reticule independent to your turn / movement direction
Why are you posting this Matt?
TimeSplitters 2 will never have a reboot!
so, like every other FPS that isn't dogshit?
TS:FP had the better story, but that's where all the work went.
TS:2 was a direct upgrade to TS:1, it retained the speed and added far more content.
>Hospital virus with the zombie characters
I got so spooked, I'd hide out in one of the operating rooms until there was only like two or three people left then quit since I was so spooked.
>ywn play splitscreen proximity mines only deathmatch on Chinese with your brother
>ywn balance a bed sheet in the middle of the screen to prevent cheating
>ywn do this as a kid with not a care about anything else in the world ever again
Will we ever get a soundtrack as diverse and badass as this again?
I mean holy shit this is unreal
>tfw they replaced this with TS:2 inferior streets music
