So my 4y old rig has served me well for many years, but my GPU died (Radeon HD 7850).

I don't have money for a new PC, but I want to replace the GPU with some budget card.

I think I narrowed it down to the GTX 750 ti vs. R7 360. They seem to be roughly the same both in performance and price (~ 110 euro).

Any advice on which one to get, also which version, personal experiences? (EVGA, MSI, Sapphire etc.)

dont get a gtx750ti, its outdated nowadays
go for a 950, its nearly the same price but way more performance

Over here it's almost 50 euros more, that's like 30%

Get a console.

where is "over here" ?
have you tried to order from germany or the uk?
i have heard prices can vary a bit between european countries aswell (and the two mentioned seem to have the lowest usually)

Netherlands.

I've been looking a bit over the borders, but I'm not sure where to look, haven't found anything cheaper yet and I'm not sure how well this works with warranty.

Btw I just checked, but even in Germany and UK GTX 950 is a solid 40-50 euros more

can you read german?

950 seems to be around ~140€
idk what the ati equivalent to the 950 is but it should be a bit cheaper

if you order at the mailorder i linked you dont have to pay delivery if you order after midnight or so but idk how it works when ordering to the nl

Hmm interesting, thanks, that's the lowest I've seen so far

Are you in that much rush to get a new card?
Just wait for the new ones, there will be price drops

750ti plays overwatch at stable 40/60 fps with most/all effects on but slightly lower res.

I could play witcher 3 at 40~ fps on low-medium and 20~ fps on medium-high

I haven't used an amd in a while and the last time I had one it had really bad driver problems and crashed often but don't get discouraged. Amd usually has better raw performance but it really depends what you're gonna do with it. For example Amd cards usually have 2x the amount of shading units at the same price as nvidia but they're only useful for Video/3D editing/rendering software that has openCL support, for video games I'd go for nvidia as it has the better optimisation and software support.

The best gpu brand is usually asus, they have the best build quality as far as I know.

Every fucking time. And then when the new ones come out, you will tell me to wait again for more price drops right?

You have bad luck. Going onto six years with this hot rod.

No. It's just retarded to get a new card at this point

Question. I've had two 470's and after 6+ years of use one of the cards is dead via code 43. No amount of uninstalling through control panel or ddu or bios updating have fixed the issue.

I'm looking to buy a 970, but is there any reason to buy two of them or will one be enough?

I don't have the amount of space I used to so quad screens isn't something possible at the moment.

not really, as he only can get a low end card anyway and those wont drop in price in any significant matter
750ti might even rise in price as those are long overdue and probably dont even get manufactured anymore

Well kinda since I'm limited to an ancient laptop right now.

Do you think these already budget cards will drop much?

wait until june 1st

why not get one 980ti instead of two 970's?

Either wait for Polaris or get the 750 Ti. It performs better most of the time.

They will drop in price I'm sure, but there will be newer low end cards

The price turned me away, but going over the features makes it more appealing now.

Thanks for the suggestion user.

My Radeon 6790 (sapphire) died after 3 years (much fan noise while playing WoT, i think that's what killed it). I replaced it with Nvidia 950 because I used to have 6600gt before 6790 (new pc, obviously) and it worked for 5 years without giving up. Now, that's anecdotal but I preferred an Asus 950GTX because it has good cooling and generally, a gpu with less heat would last longer, as I understand from forums.

don't tell me that's your idle temp
