Mario always latches onto one major new character per generation, it's what keeps the rosters fresh and the series growing. Not to mention Rosalina has been around for nearly a decade now, she's not a new face.

Besides Galaxy and Mario Kart, she was kept out of a lot of games until recent. Even then, she will likely not appear in the RPGs.

Daisy has never been treated as a mainline character. From the start, she's been nothing more than an alternate Peach from a spinoff game.

Daisy is actually the most forced character on the roster. Most people probably don't even know who she is and why she's even a thing. Only reason she was adopted in the first place was because they were short on female characters.

To be more specific she's literally only there so Peach could have a doubles partner in Mario Tennis, same reason as Waluigi.

As far as Nintendo is concerned she's just there to pad the spinoffs with another girl. And now Rosalina exists, a character who has more going for her, is more popular and actually plays a role in the main series.

Wario has had his own series. Two in fact. So has Yoshi. But I doubt you care about that.
