The Fallout series
Dark Void

OP probably wanted GOOD games listed

Ratchet & Clank series
Earth Worm Jim

Blasto.

Destroy All Humans

>50s
literally fedorapunk

Buck Rogers started in 1928.

Man I really wanted to like that game...

Mother 1 and 2 have that kinda, stuff like the ufos and starmen definitely invoke that kinda feeling.

Pic related came out early this year. Felt like it didn't quite dig into its unique mechanics enough and it was definitely on the easy side, but definitely solid and made better if you've got a love for old Universal monster/space movies.

Looks like a direct parody of Forbidden Planet.

Probably. The entire thing is framed as a movie by a hack director that stole ideas and props from just about everything he could. A few stages are lousy with interocitors.

Alien Isolation.

...

Bioshock.
Stubbs the Zombie.

TF2

No man's sky was apparently directly inspired by old sci fi book covers

I think the guy said in an interview they even made it so planets orbit closer to each other so they are bigger in the horizon to match them

fallout
x-com
earth defense force
destroy all humans

...

I was thinking about this a while ago myself

It would be cool if they did a BioShock with that aesthetic, like on the moon or some shit
