Eh, I dunno, Sup Forums, I kinda feel like crying already.
I am motherfucking Setsuna

How does the game end? I heard it bombed over at Japan,
Okami bombed too, man. This won't make me less excited for it.
So this doesn't have anyone from the dream team working on this, right?
It's a bit of a shame but I still look forward to it, I hope it has cross-buy
I'm really excited for this. Its got a very cold and somber atmosphere to it. The combination of a nearly all piano soundtrack and a snow filled world makes it look really relaxing and pretty.
It's a game that I don't know too much about, but the things I know I do like.
>Inspired by Chrono Trigger
>will take us back to the golden era of JRPGS
>it's a 10 hour indieshit game
>OST is all piano shit
JUST
They are fucking retarded, this would be a perfect game to play on the handheld, but nooo, let's translate only PS4 version.
I am playing jrpgs exclusively on my workplace, so sorry Square, but I will finish Trails in the Sky SC and they buy Trails of Cold Steel for Vita.
Since this is coming to Steam it's going to sell pretty fucking well on PC.
>le all rpgs must be on my handhelds meme
STOP
It's available on Steam, relax dude.
Isn't that what Chrono Trigger is? I mean, it's well put together, but it's an incredibly simple, shorter than average JRPG with little depth and a bunch of charm.
It's getting a vita version
>no physical
>game apparently short as fuck
>japan hates it
At least I don't have to buy it now that they also put it on PC.
I can't imagine that this game will have any real performance differences between PC and PS4 considering its design, so I might as well get the PS4 version so I have another game on it.
Chrono Trigger is like 20 hours
>it's short
Why is this a point against the game? FFVI was one of the few games in the square SNES era that WASN'T around 25 hours at best.
Data based on gamelength's averages.
Live-A-Live: 9 chapters, only 3 of which take more than an hour. One is beatable in around 30 minutes on average.
Chrono Trigger: 20-22 hours, 26-27 if you're doing all the sidequests.
Secret of Mana: 25 hours.
SMRPG: 15 hours, 20 if you do EVERYTHING.
FFIV: 25 hours.
FFVI: 36 hours.
VI was an outlier, most games square was making weren't that long. Reviewers said I Am Setsuna is around 20-25 hours, so it's perfectly average for the time period it's shooting for.
A lot of good games bombed in Japan, like or heck even Bravely Default.
>I heard it bombed over at Japan
Okay, I'm hyped now.
This is around 16 hours, and CT was around 20 at MOST
Or Ex Troopers, despite Capcom doing everything in its power to try and market the game. Sold only like 11k copies and now you can get the ps3 version on Amazon for like 10 bucks.
CT was a rollercoaster ride of 35 hours
this is only 10 hours, so it's like Bastion
gets boring if you can't pull multiple playthroughs for those multiple endings like in CT
I've been waiting since I first heard about it, everything sounds ok but 10 hours? When will this short game trend stop? 20 hours should be the bare minimum.
>or heck even Bravely Default.
Bravely Default sold almost 150k copies in its first week in Japan alone.
It ended up selling almost half a million in Japan alone too.
I'd hardly call that bombing for a new IP.
Damn.
Who is in charge of the music for this game?
>35
25.
No seriously, go through it again. If you take 10 hours more than what's necesary to beat CT, you are either terrible at it or are deliberately taking your time.
>implying Bravely Default was a good game
>sequel is even worse
>A girl destined for death
Woooo weeee, that sure is some deep story telling.
This.
At least the music was incredible.
Weeee waaaa that's some deep shitposting
It is though.
Chopin
>Shitafag on suicide watch because Bravely Default literally shits on all of his failed handhelds games
>Shitafag crying because all of his games get ported to PC.
Loving every laugh.
Can we have atleast one thread without some stupid shitflinging
I am setsuna is BD-lite though
No.
I'm perfectly fine with a game being short as long as it's good game while it lasts. I don't need games to be fucking 60 hours every time, otherwise I wouldn't even like Persona 2, which is short and sweet.
I mean Xenogears' average playtime is almost 40 hours, and while I love that game, a third of it is spent just putzing around and not doing much of importance.
Nice one, except SMT, Etrian Odyssey, and Legend of Legacy all shit on Bravely Default, handedly.
>Guy casually brings up bravely default
>Sonygger shits the bed and feels the need to sperg out
Every time.
I just want a physical copy. Nevertheless, I'm still getting it. It looks good
Wait, is this getting ported to PC too? Kek what the fuck?
Since we already derailed into BD fuckery, I wish that fucking game was shorter
Something like max level 20 and balanced around maybe 5 chapters would beat the do everything 5 times bullshit by a mile
PC, PS4, and Vita
But the Vita version isn't coming to the West.
Oh, well whatever.
why not
because games sell like shit on the vita.
>sell like shit
>games actually break 100,000 on the vita
l
o
l
No one knows. Square just said they aren't bringing it. This is what people assume to be the reason though. Although I do hear that the Vita version had excruciatingly long loading times.
Not on the US for some reason.
Do we know the system specs yet?
>PS4
Jesus, I thought it was a 3DS game from the screenshots.
Very few games.
As for this?
>The PS4 version sold 33,629, while the Vita version sold 27,994, bringing total sales to roughly 66,000 units.[20] By the following week, the Vita version had dropped out of the top 20, while the PS4 version had sold a further 6,619 units.[21]
Vita games sell like shit because the handheld is shit.
how? does it have a bunch of jobs or something?
>b-but Sony
>b-but it's good you're just jealous!
The defense force for BD is just as bad as the game itself
They had to skip jobs due to the low budget.
They also had to skip making a quality soundtrack and instead just hired some literal who to jam on a piano for a while.
The game in general sold like shit, and more people in Japan have PS4s than Vitas.
Get fucked, faggot.
>By the following week, the Vita version had dropped out of the top 20, while the PS4 version had sold a further 6,619 units.
hold me bros, this isn't fair.
>and more people in Japan have PS4s than Vitas.
No
Japan is all about handhelds my silly Sony loving faggot.
All Vita games sell like shit besides desperate manchildren buying games like Persona
Yes, dumbass.
>sell like shit
>games still do well despite their budget
Kill yourself, user.
It takes about 7 seconds to leave a house and 20 seconds to enter the world map.
any hopes it will come out for NX or 3ds N3ds?
Zero
Probably not, but why would you want to play it on anything other than your PC anyway?
Nobody actually plays JRPG's on the go right? Right...?
I play all of my JRPG's at home, even on handhelds. I save actual short as fuck games like yugioh and what not for playing outside.
>Nobody actually plays JRPG's on the go right? Right...?
People with lives do.
Never played or will play this game but this webm is fucking amazing
People with lives don't play games
They do. They're busy trying to work to earn money to play games.

Eh I would've gotten it if they localized the vita version.
>game is only 12 hours
>charge $40
