Stellaris

Haven't been on Sup Forums since release. To my surprise there's no thread about it currently.
Do you guys like it?

Tbh I think it's going to turn out like CK2, not that there's anything wrong with CK2, but that's just how paradox rolls nowadays.
To those who didn't buy it: I wouldn't recommend it just yet, definatly should wait for a sale, maybe even a bundle.

I have roughly 40 hours played, its really fun.

However obviously needs to be fleshed out content wise and needs an AI buff.

i quit at around the time i had to start making sectors, because the sector AI is painfully retarded at the moment

it's supposed to be fixed in this upcoming patch, but we'll see

Just play Distant Worlds: Universe. Even the diplomacy in Stellaris (which should be Paradox's strong suit) is a joke compared to DW:U.

That's because they keep getting deleted the second a janitor spots someone talking about how Paradox has removed all mods that let you play as Whites/European humans instead of multi-racial ones.

there's a whole board for people who care about your stupid racist mod, you know

It has huge potential but needs a lot of work. It's currently puddle deep and mid and late game sucks. Got about 100 hours out of it in its current state and I probably won't play it again until an expansion hits.

All I want to do is roleplay Space Europe, I wish you'd stop stereotyping me for choosing to play the game differently to you.

Really? Damn. Anyway, it's not like I'd play Earth anyway. The trait they got are garbage. At least the Commonwealth is somewhat decent.

well you're free to download your "whites only" mod, just not from the steam workshop

Europe isn't white.

gee, i wonder why janitors have been flushing these threads down the toilet

European mod. It had non-whites such as Spaniards, Italians, and Greeks. Why are you being so passive aggressive?

the game is civ v and eu iv at launch. Its almost like they forgot to put it in early access on steam.

I don't get these people.
Paradox makes games in which, most of the time, YOU choose your objectives. Of course there's a shitty system calculating points, but...
Europe is quite diverse, really. Latins, Celts, Slavs, Germs...
I really don't get how it's such a big deal.
They banned it, gave it media coverage, pissed of a part of their fanbase and will end up pushing a shitton of dlcs anyway.

well go tell paradox that and maybe they'll put it back up, but i really don't think you're fooling anyone you dumb fucking cunt

there's a board specifically for mods for vidya?

You can make your own human civilisation that starts on Earth anyway

Upon reflection it's pretty shit. The game has absolutely no depth and becomes rediculously boring after the first hour of play.
I might try it again in a year or so once a mountain of dlc has been released and hopefully some good mods but even then I'm not confident it will be much better.

Every single similar game has better diplomacy than Stellaris, that's not much of a feat

Is that me or DW is incredibly easy even on hardest difficulty? I NEVER lack any ressources and I CAN almost spam ships as much as I want. Also, even if I tried to ruin my private sector, they are so rich its just impossible. Game is great but I guess something is wrong.

Maybe generate the galaxy so the habitable planets are sparser, and more spread out? I often do that for a challenge.

There are also mods that increase the difficulty, and one in particular (which I use) makes the enemy AI even better (though it is still quite good in the base game).
