i think you guys had this thread already. or is this a new spam?
also that torus thread was cringe
torus thread? We did have a thread like this, but it was a few days ago.
Fourier series are used in some physics simulations, second and third order movement for instance in Star Citizen.
i'm pretty sure i saw this thread yesterday too
Does Star Citizen even use a Newtonian flight model?
They did and it was retarded.
I want to know who the fuck are the people on Sup Forums who make threads akin to "What are some videogames where I can [retarded offtopic shit]"
Well, someone else must have wanted to talk about mathematically interesting games, then.
Yes, it does. The entire flight model dynamically changes as bits of the ships are ripped away/thrusters are damaged, it's interesting. Newtonian physics are not exactly very difficult to implement in space without air friction/complex stuff to modelize.
To answer OP, KSP is pretty damn good but it's applied maths since it's physics.
>truly mathematically interesting?
Not many games. Most people jump ship when they hear the word "math".
I may give it more attention, then (if it ever comes out). I didn't like Elite: Dangerous' flight model very much; they artifically nerfed yaw for absolutely stupid reasons (and besides, the model wasn't Newtonian in the first place).
Did you play Independence War 2? That game had a Newtonian flight model.
I did not but I played quite a bit of Freespace.
I'd say just try it during a free flight week (they do these often) and keep an open mind. It's shaping up to be something great but will obviously take a while to be released.
A lot of the math required to make computer programs/video games/shaders/etc. are all hidden behind the engine and made super accessible. That's why the video game industry has been infected by retarded SJW liberals. They don't need to know math or computer architecture to make/design games anymore.
The actual coding part was never hard. Any retard can code if given enough effort and abstraction away from all the mathematics behind it. No one has to sit down and write equations to solve some vector shader problem anymore, unless you're trying something truly innovative (aka no games these days). Come up with some shitty story about "diversity, gender identity!!!", write a few lines of dialogue, drag/drop in the newest coding IDE, and contract some "fat nerd" or Pajeet to finish up any bugs. Viola, you have a game you can sell on Steam and rake in millions from retarded "geeks/gamergirls".
Life
Freespace 2 was too good. Unfortunately, I got into it way too late, and no one was playing multiplayer. I just want a good, solid, multiplayer space sim with a focus on dogfighting.
It's been like this at least 4 years., or whenever /vg/ was created.
Pokemon
why?
But almost all great designers are artists or other jackasses with no higher mathematical education.
I'd assume he means the competitive aspect, IV's, EV's, all that.
Super Mario 64
Mario 64
holy shit all OP said was 'are there any mathematically interseting games' and somehow you're fucking triggered
on topic: all of zachtronics games
The last thread was good, dont force another one.
